I hope you feel better DeAnna. Maybe print out a couple of your posts and stick it somewhere visible right near wherever you store your alcohol....

And I won't comment on the "teen smoker" at your house thing, especially if they are over 18, but maybe you'd want to ask the kiddos not to bring cigarettes onto your property during times you are drinking. It would be a bit unfair to ask the teen not to give you a cigarette if you ask for one, so perhaps requesting that they don't smoke around you during those times might be helpful as when I crave a cigarette, having them immediately to hand can suck, sometimes. Oh, it happens often, so I've had to learn to deal, but I can't exactly bar the husband from smoking, OR entering the house, so I've *had* to learn to deal.... :) But this is your property, your rules, and I assume the teen would be understanding....

I'm grateful not to have this problem, I am quite sure back in the hazy days of drinking ETOH (which were many decades ago LOL) that I smoked more while drinking. It's tough to overcome, but I'm sure you can do it, and as others have said, it might be a learning experience for your "drinking" brain, as with state-dependent learning (I am a firm believer in this theory) you may find a true aversion to cigarettes arises while you are drinking, as you've now smoked and experienced how awful it was...

Kudos to you for reporting it, now get back on that horse! (I mean the vaping horse, I'm not encouraging you to start drinking immediately :D).

It's going to be okay, you'll see.

Anna

@DeAnna2112 Don't worry about it is what i'd say :p I myself recently took a puff off of my friend's stinkie, i thought i was gonna be sick and i didn't even drink a single drop (mostly did it out of curiosity of what would happen). Can't lie after that single puff i vaped a whole tank to get rid of that ash taste XD it was hilarious

I bought a pack of my used to be favorite smokes a few months ago. Opened them up and took one out. Lit it up and OMG....how in the world did I smoke them for so many years. I took a couple of puffs and put it out. I gave the rest of the pack to hubby a few days later. It confirmed to me that I have put the smokes down for good.

I have actually forgotten how to smoke (I tried to smoke the way I vape) and I want to keep it that way. I don't consider that couple of puffs as a fail. It was just one more confirmation that I will never go back to smoking and I don't think you have failed either. Sometimes we just have to give in, only to learn that the cigarettes aren't as good as we remembered them being. It is just another learning experience.

I hope you are feeling better this morning.

thanks stols i am actually glad i smoked that cig, which i only took a few puffs off of...that's all it took and i had to put it down...It was horrible and a wake up call. I was having a glass of wine that night after dinner when it happened and i sware i turned green for moment..big smiles. Most of my daughter's friends i have converted to vaping that come over, but there is still one or two that still smoke sadly. Don't think i will have to worry about being tempted anytime soon, took hours to get that taste out of my mouth

Same but i've also found out that i've really sacrificed my tasting abilities with smoking since i can now appreciate flavors 100x more than i used to (i swear my scrambled eggs i made today never tasted so good ) Makes you appreciate food much more imo :p

Its the same as the yearly McDonalds trip to ultimately remind you that you feel like utter garbage for hours afterwards and it's not as good as you remembered.

I almost borrowed a Newport the other day then thought of this thread and said "hmmm no" and pulled out the PICO SQUEEZE instead. Ahhhh so tastey.

crappy fast food on top of a really bad tasting cig would have been a bad combination!! you would have felt like crap from the food and had a horrible taste in your mouth from the cig

ever leave fast food in your car for days, ya know that bag gets lost in the floor board..and when you see it and pull it up to throw away it still smells like it did when you got it! now that's pretty disturbing! If it was a home cooked meal it would smelling pretty bad by then. I am not much of a fast food person, but i like a big mac about once every six months. I eat burger king about once every 3 months when i am too lazy to cook.

Well if i have learned anything by smoking that cig...i am not missing what i thought i did
yep. I tied an analog when drinking shortly after I started vaping, never again. I started vaping because I smoked like a chimney when I drank bourbon. On non drinking days I would smoke 3 - 5 cigs, on drinking days it could be close to a pack (not wise with asthma). The first store bought juices were tobacco (mr e rough rider, I think was the name) then I moved on to a few different ry4 juices, flavors that didn't interfere with the taste of the bourbon too much. Now that I DIY I vape pretty much anything now when I drink but lean towards nutty juices or more complex ry4 and custard stuff. I will often have cookie or other bakery type vapes as well, basically anything but fruit dominant vapes.

yeah i use to smoke like a chimney when i drank, which is why i keep craving a cig, but once i gave in and smoked one it was awful. I lean more towards the ry juices as well when i drink

diy or store bought? my fave store bought juices were charlie noble pistachio ry4, super charged heaven ry2k and good life vapor deadly sin. I got into diy fairly quick (so much cheaper) and there the possibilities are endless for ry4 variants. I like clones of all of the above but my calculator is so full of recipes to try now that I rarely make the same mix twice anymore.

edit to add: vaping this at the moment which is my diy take on good life vapor's pb sin, which I never tried. I just read the description and adapted my deadly sin recipe by kriga:

PB Sin Clone v2.1
4.25% Butterscotch DX (TFA)
4.25% RY4 Double (TFA)
3.25% Cinnamon Danish Swirl V2 (CAP)
2.50% Peanut Butter DX (TFA)
2.00% Vanilla Custard v2 (CAP)
1.00% Joy (FA)
0.25% 0.9% Saline

absolute heaven
