Hey folks,

I purchased a Janty Dura along with some 18mg liquid (Liquid Xpress) and it's not giving me that warm fuzzy felling i get from a real cig. I smoke American Spirit Ultra lights. High stregnth gum works for me but it kills my stomach and gives me hiccups/indigestion.

When I use the e-cig, I get a little relief from cravings but I get a jittery feeling. Do I need a higher strength or is it possible i'm having a reaction to the PG?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated!

Assuming that an e-cig is the 'magic bullet' to smoking cessation is just plain wrong. While some vpaers have found the devices to curb their desire to smoke tobacco products, not everyone can claim the same result. You need to be mentally committed to quitting to potentially make the e-cig as a useful tool.

Early on, you may find the need to vape higher nicotine e-liquids to reduce your cravings. I used 36mg/ml e-liquids daily for the first few months. I have reduced my nicotine levels to the 18-24 mg/ml loeve within in 6-8 months. In fact, a 36mg/ml liquid is too harsh for me now in the morning.

Keep at it and set a goal - be tobacco free.

Speaking as a guy who vapes only 0 nic liquid let me offer up another perspective. Yes, you could up the nic level and as you learn how to vape [yes, there is indeed a learning curve] the jitters will probably subside.
Most of us have, I think, figured out that it's not cigarettes that we crave but the nic that they deliver. In other words, beat the nic and you beat the cigarettes. So you may want to consider staying at the 18mg level and let your body adjust to the withdraw, the thought being it's easier to move down from there, if you choose to do so , than it would be from higher levels.
Best of luck to you

If youre feeling jittery you may already be on too high a nic level. half the time it isn't nic youre jonesing for its the other stuff they put in cigs, the stuff taht gives you that 'ahhhhh' feeling and calms you down.
You may find using soemthing else with your vaping, like a snus, which many members swear by, helps with THOSE cravings.
Snus (the swedish kind, made in sweden, are the best and proven safest kind) are little packets of tobacco you hold in your mouth - like between the lip and gum. They ARE not dip or snuff, and you don't spit with them. Go take a look at the Other Alternatives to Smoking - E-Cigarette Forum for more info and help on that one :)
And don't worry if you have a ciggie or 2 at first - no-one is gonna think you're a failure. These things take some time to quit. If they didn't there'd be way less smokers!

I agree with trying different nic levels. I vaped so much early on that I was jittery, headache, sick stomach and couldn't sleep one night:) You will figure out what you need, just hang in there. I alternate levels as I feel I need to. Good luck on the journey and it is a journey, doesn't happen overnight.

Took me a couple weeks to quit completely dude but I wasn't stressing over it - even now i figure if I want one then I'll just have one, tho I puffed a bit of one the other day and it tasted unpleasant. I think that, rather than iron will, will be the deciding factor - one day you just won't want one, or they'll taste so awful you'll naturally say no. No pressure, no stress. :)

I'm at about 14 hours e-cig only. I got my 510 yesterday at 3:00PM, but forgot the charger at work so decided to smoke "analogs" yesterday evening instead of playing with the new toy. I very much wanted to test it's efficacy in the morning - max nic craving time.

I got 24mg juice with the kit, and perhaps that makes the difference - but so far it's been so easy I almost feel embarrassed. In fact, I realized as I happly puffed away driving home that I probably overdid it a bit; I had some noticable trembling (different from "craving jitters" that I know so well). I just backed off on the amount I vaped and frequency, and it all settled down. This from a guy who smoked Kool 100's; and back when I could get them the US version of Players Menthol 100's - which make Kools seem like ultra-lights. Even my friend who smoked for more years than I've known him (and we met when we were 16 and I didn't smoke) quailed from bumming my Players... and HE'S one of two who talked me into trying e-cigs.

On MAJOR thing (to me, at least) that e-cigs give you that other NRT products (patch, gum, etc.) don't is "the experience" of smoking. The fiddling with the unit, the holding something in your hands, the inhalation and exhalation (even though the process details are a bit different with an e-cig), the social aspects... it's all there, just as it was before. I never realized how important those aspects were to me until I first tried to quit using gum.

Anyway, while from my reading here it's clear each experience is unique, from my "heavy brutal smoker" perspective, this is THE ultimate quitting tool thus far. Stick with it (I had "craving moments" too today, but just took an extra e-puff or two and got over it), and I suspect you will do just fine...

I got lucky, I think. I quit after only three days vaping. I carried nic gum with me for the first week in case it wasn't enough or I had a malfunction but never used any. I was determined to quit, though, because my wife already did and was giving me hell about it. That last cig tasted like crap, which also helped. I don't get that warm rush from the first drag of the day, but the craving does go away fast enough. I use 18mg and sometimes wish I had 24, so you might just need to bump it a little. I plan on going to 0mg, so i don't want to backtrack.
It is all in your head (at least everything you need to be successful is). Whenever I smoked an analog, I hated myself for being weak and thought every cough was the start of cancer. Now I always smile when I feel the craving subside (I really do, people think I'm nuts). Not hating myself is enough for me. I enjoy vaping as much as I did smoking, without the negative feelings killing it.
