One thing about caffiene is it intensifies cravings.

Once upon a time I stopped cold turkey for 6 months but kept a cup of coffee around all day. Bad idea. I wanted a cigarette constantly and stayed nervous constantly.

Before taking up vaping I switched to decaf coffee, which in itself was a huge ordeal. After a month of low octane coffee my urge to smoke had been greatly reduced. But a combo of smoking a few and vaping a lot had me all jacked up on nicotine until I got used to it.

Now I pick a few times a day to smoke and vape the rest of the day. In time I smoked way less and vaped less too.

I started out by figuring out what caused the urge to smoke. Example, while driving a certain taste in my mouth could be squashed with a sip of gatorade or hard candy. Boredom was the hardest due to the randomness of it. Well I say boredom was the hardest, actually my wife's caffienated coffee still wins on weekends. I do decaf all week.

I found a "breakfast" flavor of e-juice that helps me not smoke that first one on Sunday morning.

And keep backup devices ready to go. Heaven knows man-made electronics fail at the darndest times. So there you can create your own good fortune.

Best wishes bro.

Hey yo, YES it will get easier! One thing that helped me (2 packs of Camel a day) was not fully dropping smoking initially. Still had a cigarette for the first morning coffee, then went to MTL vape. 1 smoke at lunch, then back to MTL vape, 1 Smoke at dinner then MTL vape until bed. Then the following week, dropped the lunch smoke, then dropped the dinner smoke, then the morning one. Couple of weeks smoking was over. While this might not work for you or everyone, having a methodical exiting of smokes seemed to be the biscuit. Hope this ideal may help or give you some ideas.

'Getting into vaping' is really important too, I reckon for the heavy smoker who lives for smoking. Getting excited about going to the vape shop, getting vape mail, and all that fancy stuff that comes with vaping really helps change the mindset from smoking.

A bit of self determination is still required, but if you find the right nic level in juices for you, then you'll be surprised the cravings will eventually fade/level out and be no probs.

MTL really helped me in the early days, then onto DLI as soon as I was ready.

Best of luck and keep at it, you'll love the benefits of vaping vs smoking once you're there. Keep going!

Maybe try vaping some 0 mg nicotine juice instead about an hour or so before bed.
Earlier. Nic's half-life in the body is about 2 hours. But 0 mg might not be very satisfying. I'd suggest something with nic, but half or less the OP's usual strength for the last 2-3 hours at night.

I had a time a few weeks in where I used 6 in the evenings instead of my usual (at the time) 18. I didn't need to do that for very long.

This is good to know because I’m going to mix some up for myself today. Thanks
