What kind of wicking are you guys doing in order to get the most amount of juice in there? Right now I have just a simple wick, on a 1.8ohm, 30gauge horizontal microcoil, that folds down into the well but it's no good for more than like 6-7 draws. Could I possibly add more cotton around the deck behind the middle pole touching the original wick so it transfers the juice there or something?

This is how it is right now

What happens after 6-7 draws?
If the wick is dry, won't it just get resaturated by the liquid?

It could be your wick is at too sharp an angle coming out of the coil. I have problems with wicking whenever my wicks looks like that.

Like others have said already, you don't want much if any cotton in the bottom of the well. Juice just had a harder time making it up the wick if there's cotton in the bottom of the well.

The only problem with that would be that if you tilt it when vaping then the liquid would go all over the place right? Then you remove the cap to re-drip and the inside of the cap will be filled with juice all over the place :(

I just ordered one from Grey Haze the other day, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT!!! I'm going to try dual Parallel Coils in it, if you haven't heard of the parallel coil check out RiP Trippers tutorial on it, definitely CHUCKS the vapor & he said the flavor is REALLY good, can't wait to try it.

Just got one of these from Smoke-Evolution and am about to do my first build. Anyone care to venture a guess as to how a build very similar to this would do with silica wicks? I'm thinking I might need a smaller diameter (and correspondingly longer) coil so I don't have to double and triple up the wick. Would that wick and work OK? Or might it work better if I did double or triple up the wick?

This is another cross-post from the "post your coil" thread, but I thought it would be helpful here. This is THE best coil I've built in my year+ of building coils. 7/32, 5/6 wrap, 25ga KA1 wire.

This thing has CRAZY good flavor, more than enough vapor, and (for me) the perfect amount of throat hit. I've found with the Storm, a *huge* factor when building is height of the coil. The airholes so high, that if you like building close to the deck (like I do) you'll get piss-poor vapor, lots of throat hit, and very little vapor. You really need to get your coils ***UP*** higher than you (or maybe just I) think they should be.

This... is... awesome...

Been using one of these for a week or so now. Got it mainly because I wanted a dripper that looked like it could accommodate a mesh wick easier than the average 3+ post drippers. Posted a pic in another thread... but I see now this would be the right place to put it.

Will rebuild it with coil higher up at some point. Just can't be arsed at the moment as it vapes well enough for now :)

I've been using the storm-a for a few day now and it has quickly became my new favorite dripper. No need to drill IMO and really like the wells. For the price it absolutely can't be beat.

I have a dual vertical micro coil with cotton setup in it now and I am getting what I can only describe as very "wet" flavor, it's extremely flavorful. I am thinking this has something to do with how my wick is setup since it didn't have as much my last build. I used only a single piece of cotton to wick both coils with the cotton going up and over the center post to connect the two coils. I am loving this setup and having the wick over the center post allows me to drop right through the top cap or drip tip with no problem. I took the cap off after redripping and the juice was dispersed very evenly between the two sides and wells.

If possible could you PLEASE post some pics of how your setting it up? I would REALLY appreciate it. That "very wet" flavor your talking about is EXACTLY what I'm after. Ive tried several builds so far, single & dual coils, vertical & horizontal, coils just below the air holes, coils directly in front of the air holes & even slightly above. Mostly micro coils & cotton with 27 & 28 gauge around .5 - .7 ohm. I also tried a dual coil build with .8 ribbon wire & 3.5mm silica @ .7 ohm, didn't care for that build at all but it was the first time Ive ever used ribbon wire & I'm not really a silica fan anymore, cotton has spoiled me, lol. I'm getting good vapor production & throat hit but the flavor isn't so great, kinda muted & not fully saturated or "Wet" as you said. Ive seen posts from SEVERAL people who said the Storm produces great flavor, in fact one guy said in a review that it produces as good if not better flavor than his Zenith V2 so my issue MUST have something to do with my build. ANY advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

just got my storm-a in today from angelcigs.com.
i really like this little dripper!
built a 26ga 7wrap .4ohm dual vertical in it. wicked it with rayon, just filling the wells. drilled out 2 of the 3 air holes on side.
nice flavor, nice vapor. doesnt get scorching hot. dont think ill need to put a delrin drip tip on this one.
for 9.99 and free shipping...this thing is a keeper!!!!

Hmmm... at about a third the price, I wonder how that Storm-A compares to the Orieco one?

nice! glad to hear it. ive got an origin that i really dig, so i might as well finally check out the storm.
i also got a couple of items from angelcigs as well that im quite enjoying- the kayfun mini (wicked with cellucotton!) and the panzer clone which hits superbly hard.

the storm-a is the orico one.
perhaps youre referring to the origin, which the storm appears to be modeled after.

The Storm-A that originally started this thread is the one by Orieco-Products
shown below:

Storm-A.jpg

Whereas the one from Angelcigs is below. It's a third the price, with different engraving, and nowhere (that I saw) on Angelcig's website is it ever referred to it as the "Orieco Storm-A," all of which leads me to believe it's a different clone, or a clone of a clone, if you will. That aside, however, based on the review of it so far, it looks like it may be on par with the Orieco, so if the Orieco is a good deal, this one is a screaming bargain. (I'm guessing there may be a little more to this story yet to be written, but time will tell.)
