The Wizard of Dunhall overheard the exchange between Jeffree and Wader. He had stood trial before the Grand Council on the matter of leaving Davi at the battle of Wowbacco, and even that he had to defend himself had infuriated him.
Vapor was always around the Wizard, but now it began to blow even out of his ears. This was nomally a parlor trick, like blowing vapor rings, but it would happen when he became angered. The council had quickly dismissed the charges Rye had made upon him. The Wizard had never acted in any interest of his own, only for the people and beasts of Smilinia.
Those accusations still made him quite angry. Now Rye would undermine his efforts when all concern should be about Burncarto, who even as Jeffree spoke, was moving against the Diamond King's castle, unbeknowst to our gallant 808.
It was then that the Ice Dragon of the west appeared from the mountain tops, and swooped down to the cave entrance with news of his own to report.

(Oh, how that trial before the Grand Council infuriated the Wizard. And the Wizard never forgets, and never forgives.)

Well, I created Rye, and cats have the ultimate smarts! Besides, just how did it happen that Rye was kidnapped while visiting the Wizard's castle? HMMMMM?
That's what you get for not stickin' to Da Rulz!!
Besides, perhaps it may all turn out to be a huge misunderstanding, engineered by an as-yet-unrecognized villain, and all will be well between Cat and Wiz! You never know . . .

Prince Wader walks over to Jeffree and holds his head with both hands, scratching him behind the ears, staring into his big brown eyes and says, "Jeffree, as always my friend you have served me well my loyal steed ."
"Gather the men, we must leave now and push to the summit, by all means take the lead Draugmor for I depend on you to guide us through the treacherous pass and find the Tea Tree Grove."

The going was difficult in the dense fog as the 808 trekked up the mountainside. All along the line as it advanced, the path was lit by the glowing of the magic vapor sticks, each taking it's turn to light the way, one after another. The Rivas were always nearby, but the glowing of the vapor sticks seemed to keep them at bay. Finally they reached the summit, and the fog had cleared below them. They could see the magnificent Tea Tree Grove below them in it's splendor. It was a most welcome sight, and their spirits were lifted.
At the summit of the Taryn Mountains, tucked away in the rocks, stood a small cottage from whence a pair of jealous eyes watched the valiant band from Smilinia. It was Lady Sourgrape (younger sister to Lady Marigrape), a prominent socialite and frequent guest at the castles of Smilinia, but widely rumored to be a witch.
As the army of 808 busily gathered up the Tea Leaves from the grove, Clover of Mochania approaches the Wizard of Dunhall, "Wizard you seem troubled, what worries you?" "Clover, I fear there is something, something very dark here, I can taste it with every breath, it passed through me before we stopped at the cave, an old magic I have not felt in years."
Draugmor finally spoke up "It's remanants of what my people did here long ago, back when this Mountain hid a outpost called Nuportlormin. That was where this blade was forged, and quenched in the blood of the followers Golden Greekias, the hurt they did on those innocent people released an atrocity words can not describe.... It's why I offered to go on this quest, may the blade that caused this abomination slay it as well."
Draugmor was wrong. What the Wizard is fearing is the black aura surrounding the mountain top. The auro put out by Lady Sourgrape and her evil lover, Lord Leeford. The remnants of what happened to the followers of Golden Greekias--the innocent bloodshed, was nothing compared to the ready to be unleashed fury of Sourgrape and Leeford. They stood in the shadows and plotted..........................................
The blade of nuport glowed a bright green as the company decended further into the cave, going down a passage that none had traveled in ages. Clover looked over to the prince and said "I don't trust this Draugmor character anymore, what if he's wrong about what Dunhall feels, what if he is only placing us between two certain deaths?"
RW, due to continuity issues:
The blade of nuport glowed a bright green as the company descended down the far side of the Taryn Mountains, determined to reach and cross the Wowbacco Desert before next nightfall. Clover looked over to the prince and said, "I don't trust this Draugmor character anymore, what if he's wrong about what Dunhall feels, what if he is only placing us between two certain deaths?"

Prince Wader replied, "Clover, I have never had any reason to distrust Sir Draugmor, or the Wizard. It matters not for now the cause of the Wizard's unease, for we have no choice but to plunge ahead and cross the Wowbacco Desert."
As the party finished their treacherous descent, dawn began to break and the fog crept back into the mountain crevasses. The Prince's spirits were lifted as the sun revealed the dunes of Wowbacco Desert, but the Wizard remained in his funk.

Chapter 4
As his men all take a well-deserved rest Prince Wader walks atop a dune gazing at the rising sun absorbing the event of the journey. His heart grows heavy, his father's life in the balance, his love in danger so many miles away. His mind drifts back to the moment of his 9th birthday celebration, a moment when time stood still amongst the hundreds of revelers and the only sound he could here was that of his heavy heartbeat as his eyes connect with those of his one true love Razzia for the first time. (Flashback)

It was on this birthday his father first told him of the vapor for life, the elegaunt, and Lord Leeford and his mistress Sourgrape... Never did he think he would have to face these evils to save not only the love of his life, but his father.....
