this has me a little baffled. I assumed it was from removing the inner plug in the fluxo, but it happened again in one with the plug intact. the fluxo is leaking when left on my desk overnight. its lying in a horizontal position with the mouthpiece a little higher than the battery end. it has a gotvapes driptip in the end. when i wakeup, the papers its lying on have a nice big wetspot the length of the flux about an inch wide. the flux doesn't seem wet so i can't for the life of me figure out what is happening, any ideas?

The paper is probably wicking the moisture off the carto anyway... But. The way you describe it, and considering which carto it is, the only thing that comes to mind is that it's leaking from the batt end.

How full is it when you put it down? Could it be flooding?

it was reltiavely full, its definately liquid and not moisure, you can tell because the liquid stuff never dries. I was thinking its probably coming out the battery end, although nothing was visibly covered with liquid and that wouldn't explain the pattern of the liquid being the whole length of the cartomizer and 1 inch wide. since the top of the carto is lying slight elevated from the bottom, unless i'm missing something, the liquid wouldn't move up from the battery end to the top which leads me to believe it has to be leaking from the top, but damn if I can figure out what it is, the drip tip has an oring, its in there tight, i couldn't imagine there being a possibility of it leaking out through the top of the driptip given how the driptip is up a little from horizontal.

freaking weird if you ask me.

By "moisture" I meant anything that's wet, including juice. I was just saying that the fact that the carto is dry on the outside, in and of itself, doesn't mean that the juice is coming, or not coming, from any particular place.

I must be missing something here, because how the carto is inclined doesn't (shouldn't?) affect which way the stain is spreading, only which end of the carto the stain is starting from. It will spread according to the incline of the surface on which the carto is placed, the way the paper is spread, the properties of the paper, the movement of the air, etc...

It seems that the only rational explanation is that it's coming from the batt end. That wouldn't be weird. When we mod the thing, we increase the size of the wick slots. It's not a precise science. If the carto is full-ish, and the slots are in, or close to, the juice in the tank, it may flood the cup and out the batt end it goes.

Keep that particular one vertical when full.

yea, but the same thing happened on the modded one with the rubber donut on top and this new one that hasn't been modded at all aside from taking out the rubber donut and putting in the driptip.

as for the liquid, its the length of the carto and the carto is sloping downward from drip tip to battery, so if it was coming from battery end, wouldn't hte liquid be under the battery as that is the direction of the slope and not under the carto?

I don't know Rob. I use either the Fluxo conversion cup seals or the upside down donut ring and a drip tip, and Fluxos work flawlessly for me. They neither leak nor burn. Full disclosure: I never deliberately store any cartos, whether CE2s or polifills, laying on their side. I store all my cartos that are in use vertically. I have left them on their side by accident, and haven't had leakage problems.

So you are saying there is no liquid at all under the battery end? That is weird... I mean it can flood with donut mod if the donut is not sitting quite right, or whatever, but... You should take pics.

I didn't think that this kind of plastic can have microfractures - I'd think it's too malleable for that...

What happens if you keep it vertical overnight?

I can't help it. Every time I see that you've got another problem, I hear Mary Tyler Moore saying, "Oh, Rob!"

Wow, that brought back some Old Memories. LOL.

...

After the Constant Parade of Bizarre Problems you have had I thought I would Never say this. But Rob, you are Not Crazy on this one.

I have had this happen on occasion if I leave a Mon-ed CE2 on its side overnight. Doesn't happen all the time. In fact for me and the One Piece Mouth Piece Mod that I use that it is Rare. But it will happen once in awhile.

Here are Two things that I have learn in my Travels with the CE2.

1) Old Seals tend to Leak/Seep much less than New Seals. I attest this to I believe that Seal Swell slightly when they have been Saturated in e-Liquids.

So a New CE2 with New Seals may not work as well as a New CE2 using Old Seals.

2) The phenomenon of Capillary Action can Greatly reduced if you don't store Mod-ed CE2's on their side.

If your PV doesn't stand on its end well, like an eGo, get yourself a Shot Glass and get in the habit of putting your PV and or CE2's in it Before you go to sleep.

Just remember to Clean out All the Peppermint Schnapps in the Shot Glass because that stuff is Sticky.
