I hate to use this quote again but I just love it. You can't make someone but here is a good quote.
"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which can not fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance-that principle is contempt prior to investigation."
--HERBERT SPENCER
Sorry this is like the 3rd time today. lol

What I started vaping with a year ago is what I'm still using today. I broke a 35-year pack and a half a day habit. The country or origin for the equipment didn't matter: the APV worked, period. I have back-up parts for two more complete APV units.

What changed during a year? I learned how to manage and charge batteries effectively and how to DIY the juices I like. Getting the logistics down is important. Never be without a good back-up scenario so you don't return to smoking. Never run out of supplies.

Moving up to the latest and greatest APV doesn't appeal to me. I learned about the carrot and the stick a long time ago. So long as I quit cigarettes I'm better off than before. If the end of my vaping experience draws near, so be it. There may be a good chance that I'll quit smoking without ever owning a Provari, a GG or a Zmax. I suspect a gradual end to vaping will happen on it's own. A tip of the hat to vaping, it helped me get healthier but I'm not necessarily married to it for life, either.

For the time being I'm happy to continue vaping. If I never quit vaping and stay off cigarettes, that's fine too.

Perhaps what he needs is not a provari but something that looks and feels like an actual cigarette. These are stubborn men you are talking about, so the less change perceived, the easier it will be for them to try. Take a look at this link below. You might have more success to get them to try this PV that has a soft tip like a cig filter, paper feel, and contains an orange LED recessed slightly on the end. It makes a world of difference to the stubborn ones. Once they accept the PV as something they could use, then you can graduate them to something a little more practical.

It sucks that most people who first try vaping end up with those crappy over-priced products. There may well be millions of people who are smoking right now but would be vaping instead if those products were better. It's penny wise/pound foolish for the vendors to sell crappy products at high prices since the buyer typically doesn't get hooked and doesn't buy more. I've never understood why the quality stuff at reasonable prices is not what is sold in stores/kiosks, etc.

I've had 5-6 smokers approach me and ask about my PV. Several had tried the crappy ones before and didn't like them. I spent some time explaining that you can get stuff online that is much better, and also cheaper. Hopefully it sank in.

Indeed.

Not everyone is going to want a tube or box style mod. In fact, some people have formed an addiction to the very act of smoking itself. Some people might need a device that feels, looks, and acts the very same way as a normal cigarette. Surely it's less intimidating to most people.

Buy an Njoy King or two and keep them around. If someone mentions they're wanting to quit have them try one out. If they find it satisfying explain to them there are CHEAPER and BETTER options out there. Ask them the basic questions. "Would you want something that looks and feels like a cigarette?" "Would you prefer a slightly bigger device that may introduce you to more vapor and flavor production?" "Would you want something that you can replace the batteries in?" etc etc If you have multiple devices ... let them try yours out!

A lot of us often forgot just how "weird" or "intimidating" the world of ecigs can be to someone who has little to no knowledge of it. Well working ciga-likes are great in breaking the ice in that aspect .. as they look, feel, and perform the same way as what they are already accustom to. Maybe they'll NEVER get use to a larger ecig style, that's ok too. If it works ... it works, regardless of style and/or perceived "greatness" of the product.

And for the pipe smokers in your life ... there are options for that too! In fact, Vapor Alchemy is beginning to sell an entire pipe kit for $100. The Prestige Auto Pipe Excellent price to introduce someone to a pipe style vape IMO.

If you're trying to help someone make the transition ... it's important to listen to them and make suggestions based on what THEY'RE looking for. Not what you might think is the best .... very important.
