lol, the horseshoe is a Greek capital Omega, and it is the symbol for "ohms." You sure it says .19? Not 1.9? If it really is .19, that's probably a TC coil of some kind and should not be used in wattage mode.

Could also be a bad coil, and might be shorted.
You need to open the tank and look at the coilhead, the the ohms rate, at least, and maybe IF TC coil material will be printed on the side.

So... now that I know that I didn't get all the info I should as a super noob ... I am scared of the battery that I bought for $15!!! I was looking at the battery thread and it said beware of batteries without a namebrand printed on them!!! I have a pink battery in mine and all it says is 18650 3000mAh 3.7V ce and that is on a silver sticker on the side! Am I going to blow my freaking hand up???

Hmmm... well, a lot of the best batteries don't really have a 'name brand' label on them in the first place. Because these batteries are not designed specifically for vaping. Mostly they are used in battery power packs for laptops and cordless power tools. My Sony VTC series batteries don't even say "Sony" on them. Also, with regulated mods you are considerably safer than you would be if you were running on a mechanical mod. But, if I were to recommend a battery for you to use in your current mod, it would be this one: Sony VTC5 at Orbtronic
That is the battery that I use in my Target 75W TC mod... Orbtronic is a very reliable battery vendor and you can count on them not selling you a re-wrapped fake cell...

Already worked through the issue... it's a nickel coil head and the problem is being resolved.

Other good brands are LG HE/HGs and Samsung 25Rs

LG HG2: 20A/3000maH (I think it's a Brown wrapper - affectionately called "Tootsie Roll")
LG HE4: 20A/2500maH (Red wrapper?, don't remember for sure)
LG HE2: 20A/2500maH (don't remember wrapper color - if the HE4 is not the red one, this one is)

Samsung 25R R5: 20A/2500maH (light blue wrapper)
Samsung 25R R2: 20A/2500maH (light green wrapper)
Samsung 30Q: 15A/3000maH (pink wrapper) I would probably NOT use this one in your mod.

I have HG2, either the HE2 or HE4 (whichever is the red one), and the Samsung 25R R5. Sony VTC 4s and 5s are green-wrapped, I believe. They are also great batteries!

what's the difference between 3000mAh and 2500mAh?

Battery life... how long it lasts between charges. The 3000mAh battery is capable of discharging 3000 milliAmps for 1 hour continuously. 3000mA is 3A. Just keep in mind that that is continuous drain. When vaping you are vaping in short bursts, so you will get more time... but higher wattage/voltage/amperage will decrease the amount of time the battery will last. Also, typically the higher the mAh rating of a battery, the lower the CDR (Continuous Discharge Rating) The CDR is the 15A, 20A, 30A rating of a battery... The Sony VTCs are technically rated at 20 max discharge, but have been tested and proven to be able to handle 30A with no problems.

Yep, the Sony batteries are green wrapped. I've never used the LGs or Samsungs personally, but they are very good batteries... I just stick with the Sonys out of habit. They work for me, and I just keep buying them...

"Short" answer is that Volts = Current * Resistance. So, if your device is offering 4 Volts, and the resistance of your coil is 0.5Ω, you're pushing 8A (current). That then correlates to 32W (Watts = Volts * Volts / Resistance.)

*MY* personal safety boundaries is to try to not ask for more than half the CDR current because as batteries get a little older, their CDR drops.

So, the 30Q would be just on my hairy edge of being acceptable (CDR = 15, 8A is just over 1/2) but all the others are quite tolerable (CDR=20, 8A is under 1/2) BEWARE batteries that claim 35A. That may be a MAX rate, but not CONTINUOUS.

Until we can work out what it is what it's amp limit is (and until you can get a better one), lets treat it like it has a 5 amp CDR. So don't turn the power above 25 watts for now. Can you post a picture of the battery?

Every time I try to post a pic of my set up it tells me that it is too large. I am taking cellphone pics so I am not sure what the deal is. I would make everything so much easier!

I have to scale mine down. Get into your photo editor and use the "crop" function. The max file size for an upload is 1.0MB. Just cutting away the border usually gets me to about 600-800KB, which give plenty of detail and still falls below the max size :)

P.S. you can check the "info" after you crop and save to get the file size - at least that's what I do on my 'Droid

May have to resize it... cell phones have higher capabilities now and many of the cameras have pretty high resolution. I usually have to size mine down as well.
I always just upload to imgur and post the bbcode with the url. Forum will size it appropriately and you get the full-size if you click it.

Meh... that's just another account I'd have to create and maintain... LOL... call me lazy, I guess. ;)
You don't need an account to use imgur. Imgur.com, click "upload images", drag-and-drop from your computer (or browse folders, or enter URL), copy link, paste, done. Over time I've found it was easier to learn one way of doing it that just works everywhere, rather than have to re-learn the process for every new forum/website I use, each with their own little rules and quirks and oddities.
