If we'd received that email, we'd politely respond:

It may not be any easier than that to you, but we're confused. We don't know what components "you" recognize as dangerous.

What we're needing to know specifically is...do any of the flavors in your Electronic Cigarette line contain diacetyl? acetyl proprionyl? acetoin? or any of the other substitutes/diketones that are related and have been shown to possibly cause harm?'

Thanks for your help :)

'Just to clarify (in case there's any confusion), our reply was NOT meant to question what we2 already know (as well as HIC/others); our intent was to express how we would respond to that specific email. As in, the sender asked specific questions, but was not given specific answers - so we'd reply insisting on specific answers to our questions...because we get sick n' tired of playing "guess what I mean email tag" 25x a week.

'Sorry if we caused any confusion or wasting of time!

Check the TPA/TFA website. It states that Peanut butter contains custard notes. Actually, just about every flavor I liked from TFA contains custard notes...it's a shame. :(

Perfumers Apprentice - Peanut Butter Flavor

Someone mentioned they were replacing all of their TFA flavors. I know about the custard predicament, but I wasn't sure if it was extending to all their products. Are people getting rid of all their flavors from TFA because of the custard and flavors with those components?

We haven't heard of anyone replacing the innocent TFA flavors - only the guilty ones!

From here Spec Sheets & Components TFA the lists below were generated by clicking on the "List" next to Butter (which contains both chemicals), and then clicking on either acetoin or acetylproprionyl...which generates a list of all flavors containing either guilty chemical.

Something like this should have its own thread and maybe even a sticky.

'Dunno how many it adds up to, but we have 'em all but 8 :::weak grin:::

We want to encourage everyone to continue buying from TFA directly! If you go to the Bulk Section you'll find the prices are unbelievable (from around $6.00 - $10.00 for 4 OUNCES -120ml-). Seriously .05 cents to .09 per ml? That's 10ml for less than one dollar!

Wethinks we should all do our best to reward TFA for the major amount of time & expense they've spent ensuring that we all have the info we need to make an informed choice. Of course, we're none too keen on rewarding resellers that have no problem taking our money, but just can't seem to find the time to copy/paste this imporant info on their product listings.

Besides, when it comes to "creams", there's just no substitute for Vanilla Swirl; the Whipped Cream IS whipped cream; and Malted Milk is essential for milkshakes (even if you don't like 'malts', add a bit anyway and see how it 'thickens' up a shake...wow).

Hopefully we'll find some time to mix & test the various combos/percentages, and come up with a 'cream base' that could be premixed. We're thinking a combination of FA's Vienna Cream & Fresh Cream - with Vanilla Swirl & Whipped Cream (and maybe a splash of FA Caramel), would create a fantastic 'all purpose cream'. And we're definitely going to working on a sub for Dulce de Leche soon.

And here all along I thought Linda was trying to give us something safe to vape. It seems as if most of her flavors has the bad stuff in them. But then again when we smoked the stinkies we weren't really all that concerned about what was in them. We were concerned at how much the price kept going up. Ymmv!

So are the Flavour Art creams and caramel safe ?

Their entire 'electronic cigarette' flavoring line is free of diacetyl and related diketones.
Their 'kitchen magic' line is not.
Best place to know which flavors are which line is their main website: Flavourart - La sartoria degli aromi, aromi alimentari e per sigaretta elettronica made in Italy

Many (all, far as I can tell) resellers mix the lines together, so I always check FA's website before ordering elsewhere.

That's a superb combination; I use it in lots of recipes from coffees to desserts to creamy cocktails. Various combinations of Vienna Cream, fresh Cream, and the three FA Vanillas have replaced all my cream, vanilla, and custard flavors. Once you get a base you like from these flavors, try with a little Maple Syrup or Butterscotch.

Wow FA even has a custard that is ok under their ecigarette line . Has anyone ordered direct from them so there is no confusion which line you are getting ?

Their flavors don't cross lines. For example, Whipped Cream is a Kitchen Magic Flavor, but Fresh Cream is an e-cig flavor.

Yes, they even have a custard without 'custard notes' but it's not what you'd think! It's not vanilla and not very sweet. It's a base flavor for your recipes, like to turn your creamy-caramel-coffee recipe into caramel-java-custard. However, Vienna Cream at 2-3%, all by itself, is an addictive, sweet, rich, vanilla, creamy flavor, much like a vanilla pudding or custard - and it's awesome to mix with, too. Everyone needs Vienna Cream!

That too could be added to the list. According to their site:
* Click "MSDS FULL" to view the full MSDS safety sheet - WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF COMPLETING THESE - NOT ALL ARE AVAILABLE YET.

Of course, anything could happen (no doubt about that) - but since Linda has explained that Vanilla Swirl is their Vanilla Custard with the 'custard notes' removed, so we kinda doubt that 'custard notes' are ever going to appear. It's a wildly popular flavor, and certainly deserves it!
