Respectfully, I think we may need to agree to disagree but I support your idea.

Comparing the CORPORATE earnings of big tobacco to The Trident Group Llc dba Halo is really apples and oranges within the context of our discussion. Of course, if we broke out the respective "cig like" divisions of big tobacco then that would be relevant to our discussion but I'm unaware of any real data about gross revenues and pre tax net for the respective "cig like" divisions (NOT the corporate earnings total) ,stuff like Blu etc.
You can still make LOTS of MONEY and I mean hand over fist even with "..,but there's a lot of overhead, and vaping isn't mainstream" Plenty of huge markups in this industry and I'm not critical of Halo. I won't post examples comparing product retail costs because that would not be appropriate. Overhead is a fact of life and is only PART of the pre tax net formula. The same can be said for our little niche.
Fair use extraction and a DIRECT quote from one of the owners:
"“We’re doing a lot of things now that are not required of us because we want to provide a safer product for people and because when regulation does come, we want to be the first ones back on line, or the last ones standing when it happens,” says Jeffrey Stamler, co-owner of Halo, which has
24,000 square feet of new office space and 31 employees, with plans to hire more. "

The above article is a great read and should underscore the fact that all of us have hitched our carts to a great company and a premier player in this niche. Not perfect and like every single business in a bubble, some issue to work on. If we step back and look we can see that for better or worse: people mix/sell ejuice out of their kitchen. LOL Lots of hardware vendors work out of their house. Brick and Mortar operations are normally around 600 square feet roughly. Certainly their are rare exceptions and what others produce/sell may still be great and that's fine because it's a bubble. However, a privately held ecig vendor with 24K square feet and 31 employees is
RARE, HUGE and a GREAT sign for all of us.
I'm going to perform some research on what other vendors let a buyer use their rewards points for with links and data. Is it restricted? Is it everything they sell? I have no clue. IF it supports our desires, you can bet your bippy I will send PMs, emails, and faxes to all.
Good luck to all
