My wife wants to start vaping. I am not much help, I use a REO and she doesn't the fool with it. I have a Provari P3 and Squape r "W" deck and several spools of varying gauges Kanthal and Stainless. I am looking to build her a relatively cool, low throat hit vape without a lot of vapor. From what I have built so far that seems to be what she likes. What would you all suggest? I think she may qualify to be a tootle puffer.
I really want this to go well for her, thanks.

Why not just have her stay with the Provari and the Squape? Both are excellent, I really like my Squape for flavor at low wattage, so not sure how much better you'll come up with for her in another setup. Other MTL tanks could include the KF, as well as the Merlin. If she's vaping at low wattage, the Provari should be fine, certainly well built and will last her.

What Ohm's would you think? I am sure she will prefer the lower wattage.

I would say:
Let her pick the form factor, she may prefer tube style or rather something small/light

Just looked up what a reo is, box mods can be annoying to some. I only take mine out if im gonna be out all day and most of the night when I need the extra battery life.

I would say get something small and flexible like the VTC mini or istick pico, if she needs more run time take a spare battery.

Tanks, well get something with a small chamber. im currently on 225 dec at 10w running 1.14ohm on a vtc mini with goblin V2 and tootle puffing, opened up it will blow decent clouds. Point being is you can coil almost anything up to work as long as the hardware is ok.

I'm with Sucram.... When people are asking, I always respond with - Form Factor First. Then, "tighter" or "looser" draw.

But really, I know it's not necessarily a rebuildable, but the Nautilus/Nautilus Mini is as good a "stock" tank I have and so insanely easy to use. As far as the power source, what feels comfortable in HER hand. Stick (i.e. eGo/VV3/VV4/Spinner), Tube (Provari - Mini/2.5 with extension ring/battery cap), or Box (preferably replaceable batteries, but if not, istick 40, some of the mini's - Target Mini, eVic thingy that's just come out.....)

If you're going to stick with a kayfun - I'm becoming quite fond of my V3 Minis. Either that or the older style 3.1(ES) or a Lite Plus.

ETA: I am remiss in mentioning the eGo ONE tanks. With the CLR heads, I also find these a great vape - pretty good air flow control, and YOU control the build ;)

Thank you all for your help. I know where to start now. It is important to me that this go well, I want her to have the same success quitting that I did. She doesn't want to fool with building herself and the "GreenSmoke" pre-filled weren't cutting it for her, 42 years smoking.

For tootle puffers, it's hard not to recommend a Kayfun. I use a couple of Lite Plus v2's, they're simple and no-nonsense but if you want glass tanks and adjustable juice-flow control, I've heard good things about the Mini v3 and the (regular) v4, as well.

I'm a lady tootle puffer who smoked for 42 years before vaping. I vape at 1.5 and 1.8 ohms, and get plenty of vapor to satisfy me!

Me too @JCinFLA I stick with 1.8 coils @7.5-8 watts. Works perfectly for me. Smoked for right at 45 years, been smoke free for going on 5 years now and have used this type of set up for the past 4 years.

Somewhere out there
I really like the idea of finding a form factor, I never thought about that much but I always prefer tube over box. For me a big issue has always been weight. I prefer the weight of an ego, light is my thing. I love Provari performance but the weight is an issue so I picked up a used Titanium P3 and love the light weight. Just thought I'd mention that, if she didn't like heavy, Titanium may suit her.

Will your wife be taking this set out and about? You might also want to see what fits in her purse if she carries one. I like the Blu Plus for my running around set because it fits well in my purse and I don't have to worry about any accidents.

I recently had to go out for the day last week, and found my Pico with the Melo tank worked well because I could fit it in a hard sunglasses case so that I wasn't pushing the buttons or stressing the tank. I've been able to crank down the air on the Melo to make it work more like a tootle Triton Mini when I wanted the tighter draw. I think most shorter tanks on a shorter mod like the Pico would work too.

If it will work for you all, you might want to consider a nice home base unit and keep using the cigalike for the short running around, parking, shopping, rinse/repeat trips. After so many years of smoking & driving, I just don't drive as well without something like a cig/cigalike in my hand.

I agree that form factor is important. My wife prefers smaller lightweight devices, like the VV3 or Ego when out and about. A glass tank may be a problem if your wife carries lots of stuff in her purse. Mine still prefers a simple 1.6-1.8 ohm CE4 or CE5. Just unscrew top, fill and vape for a couple weeks, then start over. Not everybody wants an involved setup.

At home my wife switches out to a bigger device for more battery life but still likes smaller, lighter setups. I guess I'm suggesting you plan for a small setup and a bigger setup to make vaping more convenient for her. That increases the chances she'll find her vaping style and stick to it. Good luck!

Weight is a concern for her, I will look into the CE and Pico. She really doesn't want to mess with stuff, that is more my thing.
Thanks again

Being an old fart of 76 and being married for over 55 years, I have heard this question in many forms. What' the best gun for my wife...what's the best Harley for my wife....what's the best....well...you get the idea. After all these years, I can sure tell you what's not the gun, Harley or anything else for my wife. Except I guess I'd have to say, since she's the best thing in my life, I hope the same goes for her. I'm sure your bride will fall into just the right device on her own....

This reminds me of my sister. She wanted to quit smoking a year ago. I offered her one of my Provari 2.5's with a Mini Nautilus, and she complained it was "too heavy" and not pocket/purse friendly.

We went to a vape shop to handle several different mods, and she chose an iStick30 watt. She bought another Mini Nautilus in addition to the one I was giving her as she also purchased two different flavors. She's been using the same setup for a year and loves it. It took a couple of months for her to stop smoking completely; she would smoke one occasionally for the heck of it and rarely finished it.

So if a Provari is too heavy for your wife, have her try a Pico or another iStick. The 40watt may be a more agreeable form factor. Tank is up to you two, but even your wife can learn to change a coil in a Nautilus.

I second the Pico or 30 watt istick. The Pico has the advantage of replaceable 18650 batteries. Both are light, fit easily in pocket or purse and they STAND UP on a table or desk top, instead of toppling over. These things were important to me. (I'm female, smoked for 40+ years and have been vaping a little over 2 years, now.) I used Nautilus mini tanks for a while, then switched to the GS Tank which is also made by eleaf specifically for the isticks and Picos. More recently I have been using the aforementioned Ego Ones, with easily rebuildable coils. I get most everything at Rocky Mountain Vapor (US vendor). They ship anything over $14 for free and they have a 25% coupon code at all times. Right now the coupon code is "president". Here are some links:
Pico works out to $27 shipped after discount: Eleaf iStick PICO Simple Kit - $36.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes
Istick 30 watt: Eleaf iStick 30W Battery - $35.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes
GS Tank ( I do not use the sub-ohm coils provided): Eleaf GS-Tank TC Set - $12.50 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes
Coils for GS Tank (last for weeks): Eleaf GS-Air Replacement Coils 5 Pack - $9.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes
Nautilus Mini: Aspire Nautilus Mini BVC Glass Clearomizer Set - $29.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

For the Ego One tanks, looks like Sweet Vapes is the lowest price I am seeing.
Here is an example, this one holds 2 ML, there is a 4 ML Mega tank also available.: Joyetech eGo ONE V2 Tank 2ml
Rebuildable Ego One CLR coils (1.0 Ohm, rebuild to her liking) Joyetech eGo ONE CLR Coils

Hope that helps, and I wish your wife great success! We females can be picky about our equipment and also the liquids! Just ask for help on these things, everyone is pulling for her!
