Hey there,

Just wrote the biggest wall of text and managed to have it deleted by my browser... fantastic.

Now to summarize what i wrote:

I am a pretty casual smoker at about 1.5 - 2.5 packs a week. Would like to quit smoking cigarettes and doing dip all together.

My questions were as follows.

1. Someone please explain the naming convention of ecigs to me. I have seen 510, 801, and 901 as the ecigs to purchase. But what do those numbers mean? i have seebn several 510s that have been rebranded. I understand that one chinese company owns the patent on the ecig, so i am curious if peopole are paying royalties to this company to create their own branding. Are all 510s the same? is it only a clasdsifcation of the atomizer?

2. Please consider my preferences below and recommend an ecig based on these preferences:

Throat hit: Never liked the soar throat feeling. I do not enjoy any pain or stinging in my throat when i smoke analog cigs. I do like feeling smoke enter my lungs and fill my chest. But a burning sensation in my throat is displeasing.

Manual vs. Auto: prefer manual for the aspect of control. If auto ecigs drag smoother and more consistently then I would reconsider. I do plan on dripping and don't want to cause battery problems in doing so.

Taste: Love creamy/fruity flavors. I did smoke menthol cigs for the longest time, but would once in a while enjoy an expensive flavored cigarette. Going VG is important to me. I am the all natural type of guy.

Size: Would prefer no larger than an analog cig, but if it comes down to any of my other criteria being neglected i would rather go with a larger model for the best smoking experience.

Vapor cloud: Large amount of vapor is preferred. Not a burnt taste but a large tasty puff that can linger in the air.

Cost: I know these things are cheap to make, so paying anymore than $50 would begin to frustrate me. I have seen tons and tons of models with 510 in the name going for 26 bucks as a starter kit, but i still wonder about quality. are all 510s the same?

I apologize that this thread is so abrupt, i had a nice intro in my last post and it took me a long time to write. Losing it all was kind of upsetting. I also haven't smoked today so bear with me lol. I am up for talking on the phone if someone feels strongly about a certain product. PM me if you want to chat per phone. I promise to be nice and patient :)

the more pieces the ecig comes apart into the better. the more metal the better. i like cleaning stuff in alcohol and other solvents, and would like to have complete control of maintenance and part replacement.

thank you for the response svzurich. i was actually born in Switzerland. I still go back once in a while. You from there?

for anyone else reading this, keep suggesting quality products that would fit my need, possibly even the vendor to purchase from. wanna get on this bandwagon asap :)

The 510 atomizer could be a little harsh for the experience you are looking to get from an e-cig.
Read up on the 901-as it is closer in size to the 510 and runs cooler so it is easier on the throat.
The 801 is even smoother but, much longer.
Also, look at the KR808D-1
There are threads on each unit for your reading pleasure. Bottom right of this page is the Forum Jump. Use the scroll down until you find the model specific threads.
Big battery mods are nice and some have interchangeable adapters that are for using the 3 most used atomizers and the cartomiser. You could also purchase the adapters sep for about 3 dollars or so each and experience them all with one battery. Until you find out which atomizer you prefer. Good Luck.

Welcome to ECF!

510's are a great first ecig, especially for a casual smoker who doesn't need a really long battery life. As far as throat hit goes, stay away from high nic juices and PG. As far as that goes you said you would like to go VG for the more natural aspect. Which is good because VG has a lighter throat hit and more vapor than PG. I got a great 510 "mega" starter kit with from madvapes, 510 Mega Kit with no Box

They also have a 510 (smaller batteries than the mega) 510 Manual Battery Kit with Red LED for $29.99

Both kits have 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, and various other stuff. Look around at all suppliers you can find, they all have sales and specials. Every purveyor treated me well and got my orders to me in 2 or 3 days.

I also have a 402 which is about the size of a "100" but, I like the 510 "mega" much better. The 402 is nice and comes with a PCC (pack sized portable charger) Only came with 1 batt and 1 atty though. I had to order more. My 2 cig 402 was about $60 after I got the extras. I take that out because it has the charger pack and looks more like a normal cig.

As far as flavor goes, so many delicious options. Check out Tasty Vapor and
Viking Vapor E-liquid Supply and many others.

Welcome and have fun!

@Svzurich, I live in a beautiful place with armed citizenry called Pennsylvania!! My avatar is actually me and my AR15! I just need to get a pick of me vaping while holding my rifle. Maybe later today! No dorfs but... We have the grand canyon!

I mixed blueberry, raspberry, strawberry and vanilla juice, I call it "Smurfberry"
