I'm glad you found something that works for you! I'm a firm believer that whatever works great for you is the best darn device out there. I, however, respectively disagree. But only for the simple reason that I can taste the filler material in a carto and it's gross to the point that I literally gag on it.

In fact, I went out and bought a fresh pack of Boges just a couple of weeks ago just to see if my opinion had changed. They haven't! Put a juice in it that I love, filled it up, let it saturate...And I regretted it the moment I took a puff. The flavor of the juice was there, it wasn't even remotely dry, but I could taste that filler material and it just doesn't work for me.

Alas, I'll seemingly never experience the joy that so many get out of cartos. Oh well. There are plenty of other systems out there that work great for me.

Again, I'm happy you found something that works for you, though! Good job and keep vapin'!

Discovered this today.

Probably old news to you experienced vapers, but I am still learning! At first I didn't like the cartos that came with my Provari. I wasn't getting good flavor and good clouds from them. So the one that I filled before, I left sitting for over a week. This morning I screwed it on the the Provari and tried it again, and to my surprise it was fantastic. I guess it needed time for the juice to be fully absorbed into the foam material inside the carto. It's actually a better vape/taste than the bottom-wicked tanks I've been using (Protank/Davide). Really good vape.

My new protocol is to begin filling a carto ahead of time, and leave it sitting next to the bottle I used to fill it for a few days. That way I know it will fully saturate, and I won't forget what flavor it contains.

I also ordered a glass "carto tank"... I assume the differences when this arrives will be that 1) the cartos will need holes in them, 2) juice will last a lot longer before refill. Looking forward to the next experience.

Any advice on this process appreciated.

If you're not into rebuildables carto-tanks (and the Pro-tank IMO) are probably the best toppers for vapor and flavor.

That said, I've never had to let mine sit for days before using them. How are you filling them? Do you shake or spin the carto to force the liquid to the bottom? I use an e-cig lanyard to fill mine (I leave the bottom cap on to keep the liquid from flying out). I drip, spin, drip, spin until the carto looks moist on top (if using carto-tanks you should only have to do this the first time you put a new carto in). The condom method was just to messy for me.

You should be able to get 25 to 30 drops depending on the carto.

I probably could be spinning it more - need a better apparatus for that. It's a pain in the .... though - I like the idea of filling a tank much better. Just so much less work.

I will probably look into rebuildables down the line - just not ready yet to take on the professional fiddling.

So as long as we are talking about carto tanks, what is better, low resistance cartos or regular, and why?

Also, one or two holes punched in the cartos...?

My juices have been sitting (therefore steeping) for more than a week since arrival... so I don't think that's the issue.

I have ordered the pre-punched Boges for the tank I am expecting... I will not punch myself due to the posts I've read about the problems with this process (disfiguring the carto).

If there is a way to get the carto to produce the flavor and vapor faster, I am very happy to learn it! But I've tried the swinging the carto around in a holder method - it does not help...

When using a carto tank, you will not have to let the cartos sit around for more that a few minutes. The juice from the tank will feed into the carto as you vape, and keep it moist. Looks like you have read Badatitude carto tank info, so you are good to go. :)

Resistance is personal preference. I prefer 3.2 because it gives greater flexibility of what volts you can set your device at.

Number of holes is also personal preference and depends a bit on your juice. Higher PG juice is thinner than VG. So, more holes for high VG juice. I use 80PG/20VG juice and 2-hole cartos. You just kind of have to experiment to see what works best for you.

I agree with Eric. If I can't rebuild it, I really don't want it. But that said, if I run out of silica or kanthal, I usually go to the gas station and buy some cartomizers to punch myself. I like carto tanks but they dont last as long as clearomizers and a pack of new cartos is getting expensive, or 5 prepunched flanged cartos is even more expensive. But you cant look inside a carto to see whats wrong. You cant recoil it. So its really annoying if you buy a dud. Or if you lose one of your batteries for your VV mod and then all you have left is high ohm cartos and a mechanical mod? Screw that. :p

They sell cartomizers at your gas station?

How is recoiling or rebuilding a clearo head less maintanance than just priming a new carto?

Pre-punched cartos run me about $2 each. Replacement heads for my clearos run 2.50 +. What am I missing here?
