Several posts back, there were some questions/comments regarding the fill valve. Are the repair parts for these available in lieu of returning the devices back to Russia for repair? I imagine that it would consist of simply a ball, spring, and a seal. I have not looked at an actual kayfun, yet, but it seems that they shouldn't be too difficult to rebuild.

trying to imagine that... snip at top of threads...? more please

i am using nextel xc-116 (~3mm) single strand with 28g kanthal 5/6 wraps at .9ohms. i simply bend the nextel down and snip at the base, just above the threads then fray out the ends. so the piece of nextel used is very short. This wicks like a monster, flavor, vapor, th is off the charts. occasionally ill break it down and rinse the wick (still attached) with hot water, pat dry with paper towel and hit it with my torch to clean the wick and coils, then a quick dry burn and its like new.

no gurgles
no dry hits.
using a looped 3mm wick with same coil setup as in the mondovapador video was dry and gurgly at the same time??? first hit = gurgle, second immediately after = dry

pictures time !!!
freshly cleaned and torched wick/coil. age of wick/coil ~1 month

wick should be trimmed at the base, just above the threads

inside chamber after attaching inner sleeve, note the frays cover the feed hole and half the free space

i guess bottom line is try it all and stick with what works for YOU :)

so the wick ends are just touching the base and hovering on the juice channels?
my initial impression was that if the wick was above the floor; how would the juice get to the wick?

Then there's this one:
http://.........blogspot.com/2013/06/in-stock-sigelei-kick-2134-199-shipping.html

I have that clone and its gotten me frustrated. It doesnt perform well at all.. So im looking at either the kick or crown.. See tue thing is i have my kayfun at 1.2ohms.. But with a fresh battery its a whole different vape than when the battery is at 4.0 instead of 4.2. I just want that constant vape i guess

if you are holding it at eye level and looking toward the juice hole/channel the wicks are pushed slightly to the left (happens as you thread on the sleeve) and resting on the base slightly, not above the base, not excess bunched up inside the sleeve.

the right edge of the frayed out wick will be sitting on the juice channelsee this pic:

just an alternate build to try if you want i guess...
... do i know anyways :)

I spent a lot of time getting frustrated with the Kayfun last night. I share this because every issue I had was of my own making, and had nothing to do with the Kayfun itself.

I rebuilt a new style of coil, and the tank just wouldn't hold any juice at all. I took it apart, scrubbed everything with a touch of alcohol on tissue paper, put it back together - problem solved.

Once that was solved, I kept getting drops of juice coming out of the airhole when I would refill. I switched to a syringe from a bottle, where I could measure the volume, and wouldn't you know it - I was overfilling the damned thing.

I tried a bunch of different coils, and each one seemed worse than the last. Finally, I reverted to the standard setup, and the vape still sucked. Strange. So I retired the Kayfun for my eBDP, and that sucked as well. So I quit vaping for the evening. Just picked up both devices today, and HELLO they work perfectly, kicking me in the face like an angry Greek donkey with every draw. Sometimes, it's not the devices, it's you.

As for plastic syringe tips, I'm using the 18 gauge (green), and they work perfectly. You place the tip in the hole, give it an ever-so-gentle push. You know it is inserted properly because when you try to gently remove it, it should appear slightly stuck. This is how you know it will fill.

It seems so, but how do you get to it?

I use this setup too with XC116c ceramic and it has been the best setup I have found for me. Very easy setup and fantastic Vape,TH and Flavor.
I do it slightly different in that I have the edge of the wick directly over the fluid channel. I dont put the twist in the coil I put it between the posts ...........Straight in the middle if you know what I mean .Your way...0/0 my way 0-0 that may not make sense.

so your coil fits in between the posts... his is too long to fit without touching the posts... i still don't know if it matters that the coil is touching a post; with some of my little drippers i cant tell...
does your fit that way or is it over the posts?

gonna probably give this a shot....
almost looks like a micro coil... i'll go 6 wraps of 28g.
Last sub 1.0 ohm coil gave me dry hits and burnt flavor.... probably the wicking.
I doubt eko and xc is much difference there... i also have some XS which i guess is a silica nextel sleeve...works pretty good too. better imo than regular silica because its a weave/sleeve.

Here are some pictures I took showing what I mean:
20130627_211236.jpgIMG_20130627_210321.jpgIMG_20130627_210518(1).jpgIMG_20130627_210518(1).jpgIMG_20130627_210706.jpg

This is using XC116 with flat ribbon wire. It came out to .75ohms .
I put it on a mechanical and it blows clouds but I am not sure I want to go that low in ohms.
I'm afraid I might melt the insulators in the Kayfun and I dont have any spares.

Pretty much the same as above just placed the coil different between the posts.

How much is it shipping from mcmaster carr...? I remember ordering a few feet of wire rope and got nailed with $7 in shipping lol I live in San Diego CA too

Got my package from Mcmaster-Carr today via ups to great Los Angeles area. That was fast! I agree the ordering process is strange in that you end up agreeing blindly to shipping. I quickly looked over the package slip to see how much they charged but nothing, only the items I ordered were listed. 4 hours later I get an email with the receipt for my order. Shipping was $4.99.

Plastic Tapered Dispensing tip (22 gauge) locked onto a 2oz (60ml) bottle. Works perfectly in filling the Kayfun and couldn't be happier. Thanks Lex0r for the ordering links!

You are quite welcome :) I really like them as a vendor for various things. I don't think shipping ever goes too high, especially if you are ordering lightweight stuff like we are. Good stuff!
