Every pot and pan in my kitchen is black, and they go in the dishwasher!...and then I eat out of them!!! (ever wash your hands with that stuff? It's harsh, to say the least.)

Can't comment. I don't put my attys in the dishwasher.
Then again, they're stainless, so I think they'd be fine.
:)
Cheers.

Every pot & pan in my kitchen, which is black, has scratches. I can live with that. But a speck on my mod / atty ~ that'd be devastating ;)

I'm sometimes a little rough with my mod or atty, but it's not on purpose either, so some small scratches wouldn't send me over the edge. What would though is if I couldn't find it...

K4 with Steam Tuners top cap (satin). Finish is not on par with SvoëMesto but I am happy with low profile and performance

I'm guessing that the polished version of that top cap (G4) would match less well than the satin. And I wonder if the finish on the Fortune top cap, which I have, is any different. The top cap is a good design, having an oring in the bore and flats on the threading. The only problem I have with it is that my lips touch the main body of the atty.

I also have the ST drip tip which is also a good design but again, a bit stumpy for my taste.

Here's my K4 with the Fortune top cap:

Has anyone here tried the Steam Tuners K4 nano chimney? I keep thinking about it but keep on not getting it cos it would result in a juice capacity of 2.5ml and I don't know if top fill would still be possible.

Maybe a project for the future when I have money to waste, though it would be good if someone here has one set up and can post a photo and answer my questions.

Sure it brings the juice capacity down, but with such an easy top fill system, which is MORE than possible with the ST nano chimney, the lower juice capacity isn't a bother to me.
I actually prefer the nano chimney...some little part of my brain is convinced that it performs better in this configuration.
My opinion? Get it. Worth having around. Also, with their KFL deck access kit, you can throw your stock K4 chimney on a KFL! And it works like a charm! Needs a needle fill, but I was able to line up the holes, and needle fill through the stock KFL fill port! Had no problems!

Excellent, thx. And now I have your attention, a couple of questions if you would be so kind.

I know I need the kfl nano kit which comprises a bottom ring, tank, top ring. But what top cap do I need?

I can't work out from your pic just what you have. It looks to be a nano chimney and nano tank with K4 top cap etc. Is that correct?

You don't need any of that stuff.
This is my KF4 with:
-SteamTuners KF4 nano chimney
-Stock KF4 poly tank
-Stock KF4 top cap

That suggests that the nano chimney is the same size as the stock chimney...
It would seem so, but it's actually not...
Side by side the nano is shorter. I think, due to the design and nature of the KF4, nano might refer more to the volume of the chimney, rather than the height. The tip of the nano hits the o-ring in the top cap just fine, but not as high up as the stock chimney does.

Thanks. And the pic is useful. So you get no height advantage in your set up; the chimney sits a few mm lower in the top nut and you reckon you get a performance increase.

So for height advantage of a few mm, the way to go is to get the kfl nano kit. And close examination of the ST pics suggests that the K4 top section will fit it. But then I'll lose juice capacity.

I want to go smaller for increased pocket friendliness for going out, but reduced juice capacity means taking a bottle of juice out with me, and I am incredibly uncoordinated so that means juice in pockets.

Ah well - I've lost a load of height with the top cap, and I've lost another load by getting an 18350 mech. So might as well be satisfied with what I have gained already. :)

Only advantage K4 has over GT2 is the ability to open/close juice control without removing the tank.

Only? That's my favorite "feature". 99% guaranteed not to ever have any juice leak in your pocket is a very big deal IMHO.

That is why I would use K4 if I am going to travel.

If you are no on the go every second GT2 is perfect. Worst case scenario you can use it only at home.

But seriously, both the taste and vapor production is better than K4. You should give it a try. Maybe start with a clone although I don't know if the clones give the same experience.
