It was a great starter package, but it took a few hours just to figure how some of that stuff even worked. My head was spinning asking some guys I know with BB experience questions. Just give it a little time and once you're familiar with everything it's no problem and you'll find the vape you like best with it. You have three good bridges there. The Xeta is still my personal favorite.
That’s what I was thinking of starting with. I have an Atmizoo rda (easy peasy breezy) and rta (can be a tad finicky), so I’ll save the dotshell for when I’m not so stressed. Yeah you definitely want to lube up that gasket. Sometimes they slide up and down easily and sometimes they need to break in.
The DNA menus are not too bad. I'd upgrade the firmware when you get it, just because
I'm a computer guy and I always want any upgrades that are available. Escribe is awesome, but it's not brain dead simple. THIS is the one you want. However there are a couple guys watching this thread who are WAAAAY better with DNA stuff than I am.
You'll be able to use it right outta the box though.
I'll tell you right up front that the Billet Box can be uniquely frustrating until you get a grip on how things work and get used to it.

It wasn't any one thing I don't think. It was just so different from anything else I'd ever played with.

Evolv upgrades are SOOPER simple. You won't hurt it.
I would download and get Escribe installed now. When the mod gets there, just plug it in (with a battery) and start Escribe. It will display a progress dialog as it sees the mod and loads the info from the board.
Once loaded, in the upper left hand area of the Escribe interface you'll see an upgrade button if it found one, which it probably will. All you do is click it and confirm. That's it. Watch the screen on the mod (if you want to) and you'll see it restart to flash the chip .
I don't know what your tech skills are, but don't get all flipped out looking around in there.
For now you don't need to do anything else unless you want to install a new THEME Oh yeah. I don't know about anyone else and I know it doesn't really make any difference, but I cannot stand that the screen comes backwards. You can easily flip that in the "screen" area, click "upload to device (or whatever the exact words are) in the top toolbar and it will turn the screen the right way.
Of course you can just use it without doing any of this, but you'll be proud of yourself if you get this done
