Using my SXK Tool Kit for the first time tonight to dry burn my coil. Nice to have the accuracy of a dna to build on and check post clean resistance.
I have both, but they're both built and full now. If nobody gets to it first. I'll check my SXK when I have it apart. I didn't immediately notice that though. There's a fellow posting in the FT forum that the SXK Xeta is copied from the pre-production Xeta. The main difference is that a 3 mm coil won't fit in the pre-production one. Mine is from YFTK and can accommodate a 3 mm coil. Anyone with an SXK Xeta, can you verify this?
Yeah,i have both and have a 3mm coil in both.It is close on both of them, but very doable.I don't think a 3mm clapton would fit,but i'm running 26g single wire in both with no issues.@b.m. Also has both I think.
When i first bought mine,i thought "why am i even getting this,i will never use it,i just put the base on a regular mod",then i decided to try it out just to see,and now i use it every time i rewick or rebuild haha.Using my SXK Tool Kit for the first time tonight to dry burn my coil. Would you be able to say that they are pretty much identical?Yeah,i have both and have a 3mm coil in both.It is close on both of them, but very doable.I don't think a 3mm clapton would fit,but i'm running 26g single wire in both with no issues.
Absolutely.I think they copied it from the same authentic, because i see nothing at all different about them. The only difference i can find,is on my SXK the barrel part,i have to wiggle a bit to get to go past the insulator, and my YFTK slides down very smooth.I figure that is either from the insulator being a hair too wide,or just bad assembly job that day haha, but yeah, overall identical.Would you be able to say that they are pretty much identical?
I'm vaping on a 2.5mm ID 2.6 Ohms/foot Ni80 fused clapton right now in my Xeta. 5 wraps gets me about 0.5 Ohms and the ramp up is fine. SS or KA1 would be slower. I love the Insider too. Have you tried the Vapeshell? It's a great little RBA tooBuilt my sxk insider style rba today. 3mm 28g 8wrap ni200. The post screws would cut my leads off so I wrapped the screw heads. I thought the kanger was good, but this thing is awesome. Very tasty and chucks the vapeMy sxk Xeta should hit the US shores in 3 days so in 2 weeks I should get it. See a lot of people posting Clapton coils. I’ve never had any luck using them. Ramp up time has always sucked.
A 3mm round wire coil fits fine in my SXK Xeta but even though a "micro" fused clapton technically fits, it looks too close to the posts for my liking so I stick with 2.5mm when using clapton builds. Others may have made it work though. There's a fellow posting in the FT forum that the SXK Xeta is copied from the pre-production Xeta. No, but that’s next on my purchase list. I’ve seen YouTube reviewers jai haze fumble around with it and get frustratedI'm vaping on a 2.5mm ID 2.6 Ohms/foot Ni80 fused clapton right now in my Xeta. 5 wraps gets me about 0.5 Ohms and the ramp up is fine. What did you use to do that?I had the same issue with the Insider V2, I had to clean the burrs out of the wire hole and smooth the burrs off the end of the screws to fix it...
The Insider was good but I haven't considered using it since I got the Xeta...
Maybe an earlier SXK run was based on the prototype?Absolutely.I think they copied it from the same authentic, because i see nothing at all different about them. The only difference i can find,is on my SXK the barrel part,i have to wiggle a bit to get to go past the insulator, and my YFTK slides down very smooth.I figure that is either from the insulator being a hair too wide,or just bad assembly job that day haha, but yeah, overall identical.
Thank you, I’ll be fixing that next buildI wrote about it here:
SXK Billet box...
It's a little tough to make out, but you can see where I ground a bevel into the edge around the hole. Made ALL the difference. If somebody else has these issues this will fix it. In fact I don't know why they don't just make them that way to begin with.

That's possible,my SXK was from the first batch released.I think it's more just a bad assembly day though,it's not hard to get it down, just a little wiggle.I may loosen everything up and see if the insulator will move a bit,but if not no big issue.Maybe an earlier SXK run was based on the prototype?
