Some quick pics of mine.

The switch needed some TLC but I expected that. Some 800 grit polished the parts up just fine.
This mod was worth the money and the wait. It hits just as hard as my Copper Vanilla.
The button is smooth and works every time ( after the TLC)
The seam were the tubes meet is a 8/10, May be better after the pitina sets it.

Looks awesome! I can't wait to get mine! The APO looks like it's made for it. Is it a clone? I don't really use drippers, but I may need to buy one of those and start!

The APO is authentic. The 510 connector on the APO is ab it longer than most Atties I have so it made the throw on the Stingray a touch long , but still worked great. The APO is a great dripper!

Don't know if this has already been discussed but from the pictures I've seen it doesn't look like a 1:1 clone. The original has an 18490 engraved tube, an 18350 engraved tube and an 18650 extension. It looks like the clone is just one 18350 engraved tube with an 18490 and 18650 extension.

Looks like you might be right. Not really a big deal to me.

man i really want to buy this but that seam is bothering me. Could you chime in some more about it? If it looks seamless when patina'd I am all in. Really wish they would just release a 18650 1 tube copper stingray or something like that as all I use are 18650's

I am with ya on the single 650 tube. I have only been working this mod for 4-5 days so it hasnt patina;d much yet. But looking at it from more than 18'' away you really need to look to find the seam. I will post up a pic and more thoughts on this unit in a couple of weeks.

@peppie thanks for the pic man. I went ahead and ordered one lol. Im going to live with the seam, until an awesome 1 tube copper clone comes out. Love your copper cap for your tobh too. Have you polished your stingray yet? Curious whats the best process to clean it up without harming any engravings when it gets here.

illitirit,

This may help ya handle the seem. I took some 400 grit sandpaper and gave the tubes a brush finish

WOW dude that made a HUGE difference thanks for the info. Its damn near seamless now. Your original 8/10 rating on the seam, that looks near 9.5/10 lol. Mine should be here tomorrow, how would you rate the depth of the engraving? Ive messed up so many mods by polishing them so the big selling point for me on this clone was the CNC engraving, I just hope its super deep because I like to polish things.

If that matches I'm sold. I canceled my ebay order because it still hasn't shipped.

That sucks, I ordered mine monday night and it arrived today. I was gonna link the seller for you, but they haven't relisted any :(

As far as the match, it's close, but not perfect. The stingray is a bit more red than the kayfun, but the kayfun is way more red than any brass or gold metal. They were never gonna be a perfect match unless you clearcoated the stingray, as the copper would patina while the rose gold won't. Once the copper dulls a bit, I bet they'll match even better.

The Kayfun was perfect as far as performance. I wrapped my first dual coil on it (1.65mm ID, 29ga, 9wraps, .7ohms) and it's hitting like a freight train. i think the extra cotton from running duals really helps with avoiding the occasional dry hit, it's been flawless.

Wish I could says the same for the infinite red copper stingray. Button was crunchy as hell, would stick in the on position when the battery was in there. Broke it down, dremel polished the insides. Button was smooth as glass oustide the mod, but still stuck when together. Ended up taking off the locking ring, and grinding material off the end of the tube, making it thinner, and gave the edge a bit of chamfor. This made the biggest difference, and everything is fine now. Happy camper!

I'll post a pic soon i swear :)
