I wish I had a cute saying about the Oxford comma.

OH WAIT I DO. Learn it, use it, it is necessary for legal purposes, AND I MERELY believe publishers in the US got all "Chintzy" with their ink and paper, which is why there is no longer the double space after periods....a .PERIOD should be followed by as MUCH SPACE AS POSSIBLE THAT'S WHAT I THINK.

Anna
Excuse me, Miss Aussie-American, but if you check my posts, you'll find that double space after periods is still alive (but apparently not very well)!;) My office staff thinks I'm crazy, because I insist they do it too - as well as double space between State & zip.

Not sure about your other reference - but I know back in the day, when a period came along, I always gave as much space as possible! But my wife and I are older now, so it's no longer a concern. :)

I have a few DoggyStyles going and have love/hate relationship with them but for now they are my favorite RDTA waiting for the Savour from 3cvape on FT to see if they are an improvement.
I do a 2.5mm contact or spaced 28g SS at anywhere from .50 to .68 Ohms at 400 to 470F.
Im sure you've all done this to death but short of going over 100 pages I'll just list my main concerns with the Doggy:
1. tie down screws make it so hard to just whip a new SS coil on there; even with 28g. I guess it's the space limitation but I have been driven mad with these so I try to get the most coil life out of each build as possible.
2. Does the bottom washer need replacing to avoid leaking from the bottom of the tank after a while?
3. I got one from FT with an opaque tank and it didn't have a drip tip! What is and where can I get the right size DT?
I appreciate your support!

Very much aligned, and I haven't worn a washer yet (so I'm unable to answer that one).

As for the drip tip, any 510 will work so take one that you like, throw it on, and ENJOY it!

Unfortunately she is technically correct, but that's according to the same people who deny the value of the Oxford comma.

Pffft on THEM!

We should march. ;)

I cringe when I read posts from otherwise intelligent folks making really egregious errors like then/than and their/there/they're.

As a person who is not native to English language I find those errors maybe not egregious but funny... the same way as not knowing when to use effect and affect.... but English is the most illogical language...English is combination of prefixes, suffixes, and borrowed words from several other languages. As a result, we end up with endless combinations of words with unpredictable, sometimes contradictory, meanings.

But... as KD would say ...English is K-ray-zee !!!

Just a few examples:

There's no egg in eggplant, no pine or apple in pineapple.
Quicksand works slowly; boxing rings are square.
It's one goose, two geese. Why not one moose, two meese?
In what other language do people drive on the parkway and park on the driveway?
How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same?

English grammar is piece of cake...do not let me show how K-ray-zee English spelling and pronunciation is

My Doggy is somewhere in mail space... Shipping and tracking started fast and then died on the 15th... Could be any day to a week I guess???

Keep an eye on it, Ricks. If my past experiences are an indication, it will all-of-the-sudden appear, and it will likely be almost on top of you (a day or three from delivery). It's comin'! :thumb:

So do I. Meaning, every time I finish a long document in word I have to "Find" "double space" and "replace" with "single space." But it's easier than trying to change. As far as I'm concerned though, if you are going to judge me on the oxford comma (which I refuse to remove) you can eat me.

Also, its all about "active verbs" in literature now. You can't just "be" in fact any "to be" and its associated forms need to be replaced with stuff like: "Loitering, slouching, existing, terrifying," not to mention how you can't just like, you know do a bit of plot that is all supposed to come out based on like, descriptive paragraphs that are supposed to place your reader in the scene which is why I gave up writing and went back to reading Dostoevsky and Faulkner, anyone TOO hung up on grammar should just read Faulkner for some peace and quiet. Etc.

Dinosaur perhaps, but I'm sorry that is how it is.

I am still here but did not attack that doggy last night yesterday became a BIT TOO tiring late in the day.

Found the Sweet Spot (for now) for my doggie's SS316L TC Coil:

Coil: SS316L 28ga, 2.5mm ID, spaced, .83Ω

TC Settings: 16 watts, 360℉

At those settings it will never hit 360f so you might as well just use power mode.
False. At those settings, it does hit 360℉ and throttles back.

By the end of the day this build went total stinko: dry, fried hits. Re-wicked it and still stinko. This morning it was still bad, so I ripped it out and installed a new kanthal coil before even having my first sip of coffee. I may revisit SS in the future, but for now:

@ukeman

1. Practice, practice, practice! I recoil quite a bit. I like a fresh spaced SS coil. I leave the base on a pico, wrap the coil leg around, trap with my thumb, tighten, repeat, and adjust after. I could probably do it blindfolded now.
2. I’ve had to tighten the bottom screw, but never replace. I ordered some replacements as a precaution, I think they were $3.
3. Use any 510! I’ve tried lots, and really like these ones. $2.65 Acrylic + Stainless Steel Hybrid 510 Drip Tip - 17.5mm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I'm fairly certain that THIS will a-peel your linguisticals, Janusz.

My native language is phonetically very consistent. If you know couple of rules you know how to pronounce any written word ... that is why there are no spelling contests.... but of course phonetically consistent does not mean easy...;)

Dear Kat,

I just meant that the non Oxford comma users are a bunch of cannibals. They are entirely welcome to roast me over a roaring fire on a spit before I remove it.

Because, I understand that society and language change and one day life will be dealt entirely in emoticons like the Egyptians (do pay attention to what happened to their culture though) but I am not giving up the Oxford comma.

Sand. Line. Drawn.
