I see some on the bay I may order, or possibly go to McMaster Carr, unless any of you have a favorite place to get screws.
I thought it was really strange that they used flat rather than phillips. I'd intended to replace them, but never did. I found these are apparently well made, and really flat on the bottom. Never had it spit wire at all, which frequently happened on other tanks and drove me nuts.

Just be careful - a while back in the thread, someone mentioned they tried some, but they corroded quickly. But- let us know if you find some good ones!

The other day my mod jacked up the wattage to 75W in my pocket. I didn't notice that when I took it out for a vape. I got hot city when I pressed the fire button and there was a pop. One of the 28ga coil legs popped where it met the screw head. I'm thinking that the sharp edge of the flat head screws nicked the wire as I tightened the coil down. Never happened before with any atomizer, even those with Torx head screws.

I cringe when I read posts from otherwise intelligent folks making really egregious errors like then/than and their/there/they're.

I don't as it's usually the intelligent person having some sort of brain reaction. Unless it's habitual, I chalk it up to either sped, or whatever. I used to be a grammar snob but honestly unless someone is just GRAMMAR deficient (in which case they should take a remedial class to do it WITHOUT computer aid) I do not stress. Although I will admit, I am the queen of the hanging unclosed parenthesis and I die a little inside especially when it turns into an end quote, but seriously I have an unusually relationship with the word and, I know most grammar rules but I don't think it's necessarily worth getting all hung up on unless you know you are writing a "please don't terminate me," letter to your CEO in which case you should proofread, then HAVE someone proofread.

No one has perfect grammar 100% of the time etc.

Anna

ETA: Speed, not sped. See?

I don't watch myself here, or anywhere SM, but I think it's good to at least KNOW the rules I'm violating.

Intentionally, you. :D

I'm with ya, just by the way (in case it hadn't been noticed).

I'm ordering these. Should have something to say about them next week.

Just pulled a screw out of the SXK to compare to the ebay pic. I think I'm seeing why I like them, in spite of being flat head. Pretty broad flat area underneath. No wonder they're not "spitters." ;)

Of course I dropped it....now I'm off to crawl around under my desk with a flashlight. :-(

Found the Sweet Spot (for now) for my doggie's SS316L TC Coil:

Coil: SS316L 28ga, 2.5mm ID, spaced, .83Ω

TC Settings: 16 watts, 360℉
At those settings it will never hit 360f so you might as well just use power mode.

The point of tc is to have it bounce off the temp limiter throughout your drag.

Think of the temp as a rev limiter for your engine that you can adjust, with the watts being how far the pedal goes down.

If you set the rev limiter to 2000rpm then no matter if you give full throttle or half throttle it’s only going to spin 2000rpm.

But if you have it set at 5000rpm but then you only give it 1/4 throttle it may only reach 3000rpm.

So you basically have it watt controlled right now. Try increasing your watts to about 25 then dropping temp to about 300. It should start bouncing off the temp limiter which is what tc is all about. Then your vape will be temp controlled. Should say “temp protection” flickering on and off through the drag. Or just “Protection” if on arctic fox.

And close to the air port for best flavor! I tried raising mine and the flavor disappeared, but the vapor heat rose noticeably. I took the deck out and lowered it down with the bottom of the coil between the deck screws and the flavor blossomed again. Learning curve still in progress! Heat dropped back to normal in that position because the more of the air flow was concentrated on the coil.

I proofed that post and counted at least six errors. So, it's not the letter I'd send to the CEO begging him not to fire me.
LOL.

Anna

Uncle Jack will surely speak on your behalf!

If you don't know what that refers to, well, I'm sure there's an adult in the room (I klearly don't qualify based on that criteria) who might explain it. :D

I have no clue who that is, sorry. I'm guessing it's some long beloved USA cultural reference that I don't understand, like Andy Rooney WHO AND WHY????? Type stuff. I didn't get here until 13, which is why I may for example, have a really GREAT understanding of Australian geography but can't do time zones here.

Similarly, my little brother who was oh SIX when he got here made fun of me A LOT because I actually had to study for my citizenship test. I was not "lucky" enough to attend US civics class, which means although at times my facts are wrong.... My lens is CLEAR.

For some excitement tonight, I am going to see what I can do with another doggy, since I TOTALLY rebuilt one last night and it was late, but I only stabbed myself with wire ONE TIME. So I will get another base and try to set up my frosted doggy dome over another base.

If you don't hear from me later, the doggy is still cursed. Heh,

Anna

I wish I had a cute saying about the Oxford comma.

OH WAIT I DO. Learn it, use it, it is necessary for legal purposes, AND I MERELY believe publishers in the US got all "Chintzy" with their ink and paper, which is why there is no longer the double space after periods.

As far as that goes, I don't care about the TREES a .PERIOD should be followed by as MUCH SPACE AS POSSIBLE THAT'S WHAT I THINK.

I have a few DoggyStyles going and have love/hate relationship with them but for now they are my favorite RDTA waiting for the Savour from 3cvape on FT to see if they are an improvement.
I do a 2.5mm contact or spaced 28g SS at anywhere from .50 to .68 Ohms at 400 to 470F.
Im sure you've all done this to death but short of going over 100 pages I'll just list my main concerns with the Doggy:
1. tie down screws make it so hard to just whip a new SS coil on there; even with 28g. I guess it's the space limitation but I have been driven mad with these so I try to get the most coil life out of each build as possible.
2. Does the bottom washer need replacing to avoid leaking from the bottom of the tank after a while?
3. I got one from FT with an opaque tank and it didn't have a drip tip! What is and where can I get the right size DT?
I appreciate your support!
