I got mine yesterday and the AFC ring is very loose. Is yours like this? Is there a fix?I received my View attachment 855959 yesterday. It has the same style build deck as any Doggy and it is very easy to build on. The only difference is the build deck is recessed compared to any of the other Doggy's. Still very easy to setup. The threading on the frosted tank section is excellent.
It has topfill and that works fine. Simply unscrew the SS top piece, fill and done. No leaks or issues. For me the vape with the AF wide open is like the SJMY 2k16 set to ~½. That surprised me because they have a very similar sized center AF pin. 2.3mm on the 2k16 and 2.5mm on the Bas-tard, a 0.2mm difference (info pulled from the FT forum). I was expecting AF like the 2k16 wide open. No biggie, just something to note. And perhaps it's just the clone I received, IDK.

Wicking is just as simple. My tails are "just" touching the deck.
It's an excellent vape with really good flavor. I'm running a 0.45 ohm Lightning Vapes 26/36 316L 2.5ID clapton coil and running in TCR mode (140) at 25w and 380F on a Colossal. I also ran it in wattage mode from 12w-25w. I thought the included SS DT would get hot but surprisingly it didn't until I got to ~20w.

I like the View attachment 855961 !!!
For me… is it worth it and would I buy another? Yes and yes. I am hoping they come out with spare frosted tank sections or the clear ones like I have on my SJMY 2k16 Doggy's. I don't care for the PEI spare FT, and others, are currently offering (but if that's all I can get). The only con I have is the AF ring spins very easily (subjective). It stays in place while you're vaping but if it's put it in a pocket/purse it'll likely move from it's setting.
@bigbob2322 you might like the AF on the View attachment 855963 as it is tighter and can be tightened further. I seem to recall you like the Doggy with the 1.8mm AF.

My SXK Bastds arrived. I built 1 and I like it. Yes, the AFC ring is very loose. I might try the fix, butaybe just live with it for now.
Problem I had was the first time I went to refill the whole chimney came out with the top cap! Easy fix, however, butaking sure the chimney was snug and not tightening the top cap snug. 2nd refill went fine.
Flavor is good. Glad I tried it.

Mine moves freely too and it looks like they all do so far. I took mine apart the other day. The AF o-ring they have installed, and the spare, is too thin in diameter (1mm x 17mm).I got mine yesterday and the AFC ring is very loose. Is yours like this? Is there a fix?
And the airflow? 2k16 sxk style or sjmy style?![]()
Maybe, perhaps, a little more in the BSTD, but then again, it could be the juice I have in it.Have you noticed how the throat hit is on the BSTD? I've found the Doggies lacking in that regard.
if the draw is tight and the wick isn't perfect you could be sucking the juice through
I agree. I use 26 gauge SS, 2.5mm, 4-5 wraps, .35 - .50Ω at 19 - 20.5W.No, you do not have to get up to 30W to have good vape with 26 gauge.
I never vape above 20 watts ( usually it is 14-18) and for me 26 gauge do not take too much time to heat... unless I will make coil that is longer than 8 wraps.
How long time coil needs to heat up depend on mass of coil not just gauge of wire. Personally I prefer 26 gauge ... it is less flimsy and easier to wick. If you make coil with 26 gauge SS 2.5mm ID wire with 6 wraps Steam Engine recommends vaping at 17w... and if you use Kanthal 26 gauge 2.5mm ID, 6 wraps Steam Engine recommends 18w.
Gave you a "WINNER", Mr. X, but I still really do love my little KFuns. I like the older style (without that silly wall) and dress them in the marvelous "diamond" bell caps. So so so good.

You can get the center post/intake part, and convert sxk to sjmy draw.I did this on a few of mine a while back.SJMY Doggy Discontinued?! I have 3 of these running- they are my all-time favorite tanks, but they're discontinued. What are folks buying instead? I like the open airflow of the SJMY.
Link? I can't find it on Fasttech. You can get the center post/intake part, and convert sxk to sjmy draw.I did this on a few of mine a while back.

Ah ha! While doing a search at Fasttech I found they DO have an SJMY Doggy, SKU 6238000. Super-Duper!You can get the center post/intake part, and convert sxk to sjmy draw.I did this on a few of mine a while back.
Okay, great- but if you find you need them, here's what I used to convert SXK to SJMY draw. And if you've got a lot of SJMY's, wouldn't hurt to throw a 5 pack in your cart next time, just in case you ever need them.Ah ha!
