Hmmm...not getting a hum. But all my attys with ni200 are in dual coil. It shouldn't matter other than maybe the sizzling juice noise is drowning it down.

I bet you would if you set a dry coil on it in temp mode with enough resistance to hit it for a few seconds before the warning "Dry Coil" popped up. Unless you have hearing loss of course. I think they all do this as a result of the oscillation of power as it's switched on and off for temperature limiting. It's apparently not present in power mode. I don't hear it so think it's very very low but my kids do and could describe the sound when I tested it on them. :) Kids are great, get to dress them up funny at Halloween and test your vape gear on them... lol

To my knowledge I've never fertilized an egg, not that any youngin would claim me as a the sperm donor anyway.

You probably right, though, I didn't consider that one. But, yeah I'm deaf in one ear.

So I ordered one from Ginger Vaper and it has already shipped!!!

I just ordered from Ginger Vaper as well. They have batteries for the SX, so I don't have to worry about the device showing up, and my waiting for a delivery for batteries from another company! They also provided FREE shipping and NO taxes! (Hey... FREE is my middle name!) Also had live assistance, who was very helpful at around 6pm my time (Los Angeles) even though they're in New York (I believe)....guess they work late!

Couple of quick questions.... do you guys use the USB for charging your battery, or is it only for updating software? I saw in a review of the original SX that the battery icon showed a lightening bolt when the USB was plugged in, so that would indicate it was charging... should I stick with charging batteries in a charger?.

Also, have any of you purchased the Kanger Nickel OCC coils from Vapor Shark? Do they work well with a Sub Tank on the SX mini M?

Can't wait to get the SX...:) appreciate everyone's help and comments... you're all a bunch of enablers!!!

was just talking to a good friend of mine and now I want to go eat a pound of sand and smack myself in the head.....
if its backing down and ramping up in tc mode, then if it were using pwm in tc mode really wouldn't effect much considering even if it were dc-dc it would still be oscillating on and off as it approaches the temp setting.

We could talk about differences between dc-dc switching and PWM but this is not the thread to do so...

Lemo 2 I am also picking up tomorrow. Looks good to me as well. But as for the S Class, let me know how you feel once you get the M Class. :)

As long as it works better then my rDNA40, which has become another VW mod for me, I'll be happy. I have a lot of nickel wire to be used.

I know where youre going with that math wise. but, ive never used a pwm mod.

but side by side with the same setting on the dna 40... no matter what anyone says.. the vape on this is light years better.

Yes because the SX Mini will be warmer at the exact same temp. I still want to know what's going on with that. Why is 400F on the SX Mini the equivalent of 430-460F on the DNA 40? Which one is more accurate? Side by side testing needs to be done.

QUESTION for the lemo 2 users.

I have one being delivered tomorrow... 26g or 28g ni200?

I'm using 28g 3mm 12 wraps which is coming out between high .18ohm to low .19ohms. Getting a really good vape at 30J 400F.

I use 30AWG, 8 wraps, 3.2mm I.D. Spaced, comes in between .190 and .205 every time, vaping at 25J and 385F. Just turned it down a few days ago, was going through liquid too fast. I was at 35J 410F.

Magma (Infinite clone) works great for single coil builds. Haven't bothered with trying a dual coil nickel build, as it doesn't seem worth the effort. However, the Magma can handle that too. The nice thing about the Magma is that for single coil, you can close off the other air hole. Most other RDAs don't offer that.

I'm sitting here debating the attempt at a dual coil in my Infinite Magma clone now.

Might be a dumb question, but what do you use to block off the other air hole anyway? If i did decide to give the single coil a try that is.

I don't think the hum is PWM related. Both my VAMO 2 and Innokin VTRs use coarsely filtered PWM that produces rattle snaking. The VTRs produce a very low volume hum, but the VAMOs don't. Also, neither of my rDNA40s hum so cycling power to maintain temperature wouldn't seem to be the cause. My Mini is in transit so don't know if it hums.

So I just noticed something. My SX Mini makes a humming noise while it's firing. It is very quite but I haven't noticed it until now. Does anyone else's make this noise?

I have never noticed any humming or any other sound but the coil vaping the juice and even in a quiet room. Now I just put it up to my ear and pressed the button and I can hear a very slight humming sound coming from the mod. I probably would have never noticed had you not posted this question.

We could talk about differences between dc-dc switching and PWM but this is not the thread to do so...

Until scope results are available, it would be purely speculative at this point..

It would be quite helpful if another thread was created in this forum to discuss the technical aspects of YiHi's board, post civil comparisons between other available technologies, etc..

There was another thread discussing the technologies, which was unfortunately closed after consultation with staff, due to repeated disruptions. Perhaps a fresh start in another will fare better, and provide useful, constructive, information for those interested in discussion of that nature..

Lol that's the second time I did this in this thread. First was with the pics I posted showing the black on the side of the Mini wasn't flush with the silver by the 510 connection on one side of my mod (which others said theirs was the same way and didn't notice till I said something) and now this.

I am sorry.

I agree... maybe someone will put up such a thread....

As stated in my previous post.... could the mini be using PWM in TC mode? (heavy on the ?)
