SXmini M Class (TEMP CONTROL)

I've been able to reduce the number of NI 200 turns so that I can fit functioning coils in every atomizer I own. Previously I often had real difficulty making coils fit when I was using other TC mods, especially since spaced coils seemed to be far more reliable compared to "microcoils". So far the SX Mini has performed perfectly and removed the TC frustration factor that was keeping me from believing in the potential of temperature control. I absolutely love this device. Now I'm hoping they produce a twin parallel cell mod in the future. That's the only thing I can think of now that would make the SX better.

See I told you it was a bit unusual but that your unit was good as Gold.

I am just glad the Technonut came to the rescue again. I had to PM him because the thing I couldn't make it do was go into Mech mode and I was embarrassed to ask in public. Well Tech say you have to be in power mode for that option to show up for selection. - Duh!

If Tech had not come to my rescue I was starting to think something was wrong with my unit also.

This is a good place to hang out there are a lot of really knowledgeable folks here to save our respective bacon.

To give credit where it's due, Vlad1 posted first, while I was grabbing, and posting the pic from YiHi.. Great bunch of peeps here (meaning all ECF members), all knowledgeable in various subjects.. I don't plan on going to Alaska anytime soon, and it very rarely gets anywhere near as cold as in my freezer here, so, I'm not sweating it.. I use the device to vape...

And do testing, as you are posting in this thread. But you really should understand what your testing shows.

The behavior you reported is not how temperature calibration should work. That should be a concern to you because it doesn't affect just one temperature, it affects all temperatures. Ultimately it makes it similar to an analog adjustment.

Be careful with your new toy. I mentioned leaving mine in the car for an hour or two but the outside temp was only mid seventies internal about 85+ (that was my VF). Both the VF and SXmini come with warnings about leaving them in overly warm i.e. hot places.

You live in a place that get as hot or hotter than St. George, UT. It would probably be a good idea to not leave it in your car for any length of time when the weather gets to 80 F and over. I don't really know how much heat the SX can handle but the manual does warn you not to expose it to high temps and Southern AZ can get really hot. I lived in Phoenix for a time and can remember having to drive with my knees because the steering wheel was too hot to touch.

Thanks! I actually haven't touched it in a few days, been being lazy and using the ni200 OCCs in my STmini.

That doesn't look too dissimilar from what I did, maybe I'll just try again with a larger ID.

hey all, just got my m class earlier today and picked up some 28g ni200 from a local shop. so ive got some questions but i think i have a general grasp on how TC works. so ive got a 28g 3mm 9 wrap build in a subtank mini at .12 ohms at 30J. i have temp set to 400F, but notice when firing the temp plateaus around 350ish F.

1. now im assuming i need to set the Joules higher in order to reach that temp, right?

2. Joules: so the higher i set this, the faster my coil can get to its target temp?

3. the usb port, ive read it isnt recommended to charge my battery from there. is this true?

thats all for now. but i just need to say how awesome this device is. its my first TC device, went from a sig100 to a sig150 to a ipv mini 2 and now the sxmini. this temp control is giving me my most enjoyable vape thus far.

Is there any indicator on the device for charged battery?
On Yihi site it states that the light on the button turns green when charged, after a few hours of charging still nothing.

Yeah, I wouldn't leave any electronic device in a parked car under the sun. That can cause a lot of harm to electronic devices, as the plastics, batteries, glue, solder, etc. can degrade when interior temperatures skyrocket. Most people don't realize that the sun can heat up a car interior by 50 degrees relative to the outside air.

Temperature calibration is NOT different for different ambient temperatures. It MUST remain the same at any ambient temperature or the calibration process is broken. The mod should pull the same reference if the board and coil are at the same temperature regardless of what that temperature is.

The reason it is bad is it renders the temperature reading unreliable. If the reference changes, a person in a cold climate will have an entirely different temperature scale than one in a hot climate.

This is similar to why atty lock is also bad, in case you were thinking I'm attacking a specific product.

I've been tracking my order all day yesterday. Expected delivery is Saturday but tracking shows that it was stuck in Orlando Florida all day. I'm thinking that I'll have to wait til Monday. Then I check this morning, it's at my post office! It's on time! Now I have to rely on the local post guy to deliver it. He's really good at his job so I believe I should get it today. Hopefully someone else isn't covering his shift. It's funny how I would be driving around and see him out and about we would lock eyes. That's when my package ends up being delivered 3 or 4 hours early. Evolv ended up putting the incorrect address on my package and he changed it to my correct address. While this was happening, I went to the local post office and they were able to inform me of this. I have nothing but compliments for my local post office.

I actually can see your point... However, until reviews come along allowing us to see testing data which could be considered definitive, all we really have to go on is user experience with the device, and if that experience is satisfying to us.. The device does offer some level of temperature protection, and that will just have to do until then. If you would like to purchase an SXmini M Class, and have the equipment available to conduct such testing, it would be helpful, and welcome to the community. If not, you can only offer an opinion of the limited, non-definitive testing done thus far.

Your opinion has been presented, and noted... Most have been happy with their purchase of the device, and it's features. Please allow us to enjoy it..

Well left the Focloud on overnight did a reset just to see and resistance changed from .088 to .086. Charged through USB and all is well didn't see a light but didn't look for one, battery icon is full.

My ni200 hasn't arrived yet but I can tell you this seems to be vaping more consistently than my dna30? Probably just placebo, dunno.

Vapor skinz and Jwraps are pretty good. I just ordered one to protect mine I notice a difference. I can't say huge but I can say small either. With NI200 the vape seems smoother and denser. Maybe it's just me too

I have been lurking in here for a while and have yet to post but I finally broke down and bought my first high end mod. I have built what I consider to be a few high end mods myself but they didn't cost as much because I built them myself. This will be the most I have ever spent on a mod so far. Right now I have 2 sx350 60 watt mods I built (dual 18650 and a 6400mah lipo mod) and also a dna40 large screen mod I built single 18650 hana clone enclosure. I love the yihi chips I have used before and I like the TP features of the dna40 but not the bugs such as the battery meter not working, so I cannot wait to have the high quality and reliability I have come to know and love from the previous sx350 chips and the added features such as TP that the dna 40 and I really cannot wait to see how the powerful/powerful+ features work as well! I am so super excited to hold and use this mod! I ordered it late wed night and it shipped thursday and should get here by Monday according to USPS and it is coming 2 day Priority so it hopefully will. Crossing fingers!
