mine is fine. I don't even know if it is accurate. i like the vape. i don't even know if mine is accurate but it is fine with me. i was talking about all the isues other people were having and just came up with that conclusion. some people are going nuts trying to get it right. i am just talking about page after page here. i am sure no fault of yihi. it does not matter to me. i don't know why some people are so caught up in this. if it matters to some people that is fine too. it does not even matter to me. .065 might be the max nos you can run on a boosted motor. not wider tires. just keep calm and vape. maybe i am too naïve to notice. i just got started on this because others told me my settings are not okay. working fine for me. i am sorry i decided to speak on the assumed behalf of others. i maintain i am very happy with it. no anger on my part. perhaps i could direct any anger towards the likes of grand innovations lol. i see what you mean about things could be much worse. it is in my hand and it works to my satisfaction. perhaps i misjudged the conclusion i came to. i don't think this matters so much within reason. i would not put a 3 ohm coil.if you are so concerned about your build go for it. you have every right to. i personally am spending all my time vaping. although my coils are .124 on average and i pay more for them but i am pleased with the whole thing. as i said for some reason the st is leak proof on yihi. i am not going to complain about that either! i just don't think so much effort needs to be put into this but that is just my opinion. of course you are welcome to do whatever you wish. i certainly don't mind. i just thought a lot of people wre getting too frustrated. that is the only reason i said that. i am tickled pink with it personally. my paint if fine as well. i was just stating what i observed like 200 times in this thread. my bad then.

Lol so true ;) many got caught up in the moment.. Too many perfectionist here I guess.. For me, as long as no nasty vape(no hot spot) and it wicks proper I m ok.. Sweet spot? Takes too long for me, By the time I got it either coils needs changing or needs rewicking or I would have finished this bottle of juice and moved to a new bottle already.. If not by then I probably have vapers tongue and can't taste much anyway!! Lol
Too many variables to achieve the sweet spot for a casual vaper, which I suspect most of us are..
All I want is a device I can set without too much complications and considerations(within reasons of course) and vape so I dun go back to analogs..

Yep.... the EQ was quite a ride..several beta tests and the leaking issue damaging the circuits showed up after release.....recalled with the promise to fix it and market it but never seen again. The devise was revolutionary (auto juice feed) but no one since has carried on with that approach. (that I know of)

Ha! you found a picture...I was one those beta testers- were you in on that one too?. He only gave us partial refunds and made us pay for the atomizers and batteries?. I never sent another dime his way. Maybe now that I'm getting rich using nickels instead of quarters to swap batteries in the M....nah....

The idea of the auto dripper pump was cool but it was insanely big for a single 18650...wasn't just the leaking that was a problem- there were issues with the radio dial and the voltage regualtion... but that's a story best left in the past....

I am trying to figure out what kind of a battery I am going to need to push a say .07 26awg coil to temp. I ordered some HE2's and some VTC4's they should both be sufficient correct?

Any of the recomended batteries should be fine. What atty are you going to use? I would say 25-30 J should be a good range for 26gauge

VTC4 (if it's real, and this late in the game, I'd be wary), Samsung 25R, LG HE2 or HE4, VTC5 (same as the VTC4, make sure it's a good source) will all be fine. As a last resort you could use an Efest or AW re-wrap.

I'm watching a review and he said you can't use button top batteries. Wrong I use both no problem.
me too (using button tops and flat tops)... my orb25's are button tops and the battery cover is out a turn or so but not enough to be very noticeable.... if you're buying new batteries, better to get flat tops....

I can see where the tube would come in handy to stack batteries. I take it the v reading and ohms law doesn't apply to nickel. On my .08 I am pushing 2v according to the device which is 50w 25a according to ohms law.

Well, it still does, but since resistance climbs rapidly as voltage is applied, the amp loads drop just as quickly, and then of course, power is reduced as you near the temperature target, also dropping amp loads.

Yeah I got them from RTD and they guaranteed them to be authentic. I have never been burned by them

I bought a VTC5 off ebay that was guaranteed authentic. After 5 or 6 charges it has gone from 14,000j to 16k average. I think if it was genuine it would do better according to reports. It works fine in the SX just don't last.

Pretty sure not authentic. I'm getting over 19kj with my 1yr old VTC5's

Thanks much for the info. As soon as my 26 gets here I will give it a try. Oh and I use the Kanger STM have had great luck with them.

....

And frankly, you can get more stability at higher base resistance, because if there IS a skew for mechanical reasons (connections, ambient temperature issues), it's less impactful the higher your base resistance was.

Good point! Not sure I see how it would effect connections but it would lessen the impact of the atty's own resistance...

Which has me thinking a bit more... with coil resistances at .065 have any of you guys that are having to set the temperature way high or having other strange behavior issues with certain toppers checked the resistance of your atomizer?
Say between the 510 connection and the terminals?

Wouldn't take much to throw a wrench in the way this thing calculates temps... if your topper is adding .03 ohms (that's .015 on each side) it's insignificant with nichrome and Kanthal, and not too significant on a DNA, but possibly a very big issue on the M's....
just a thought...
...set those meters to mOhms and don't forget to subtract the resistance of the test leads.....

I'm getting 25k Joules, or just short of that, every time, using LG He4's... I have four of them, and they all seem to deliver just about 25,000J before crapping out... might be worth your while getting different batteries, considering the extended time you can use your SX.

I get a very satisfying vape at 18J with a .08 coil. As the coil gets older and I vape on it quite a bit I need to kick the J up a little but when I let it cool for a good 30min my resistance is right where it was when I started which is good. Never had this kind of luck with the DNA in fact I never had any luck on the DNA let alone being able to use the same coil for a week+
