I think i may of just stumbled upon something of interest in the upgrade ..... yes the Eco function has a flaw and NEEDS to be fixed (check battery issue when pulling battery).

....but i also think I've found something useful with it - Its like each memory bank is separate from the others 'Mx' bank while in eco mode.
i.e. 'M3' is programmed to 35J ....but when in Eco mode I can make 'M3' slot 33J (or anythinf i want) .....and when I switch back to another mode other than eco mode it goes back to the 35j setting, then back to 33J in eco mode automarically.

I can see the benefit of this (sort of) especially with the 5 second LED cut off time.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you your referring to the 5 additional memory locations added with Eco? Taking us up to 20 total memory locations. Or am I missing your point?

It really is hahah I almost didn't buy one because of it. I did finally buy one and I got one with crappy paint but my new black one with the fixed paint showed up today. So far so good

15 memory locations?

It's like all 5 slots in Eco mode have their own programmable setting. I may have missed something in the past? ..hmm

First off, no, my name isnt Brandon, my name is Josh and I live in San Antonio, Texas, as my profile properly suggests. In case anyone is concerned, we have not yet been flooded out.

Second, I am being very vocal about this because this bad update is NOT about the users here. This bad update is about the users who dont lurk around the forums here.

Yihi screwed up here. Their users deserve better. I dont care what Evolv did, Evolv is Evolv (in the context of what we are discussing here, if you go back a few pages in this very thread, I .....ed about Evolv and their non-reverse battery protection in the DNA20 and how that was inexcusable, I also .....ed about Provape), Yhi is Yihi, each company is responsible for their own actions. We are speaking about Yihi.

Again, none of YOU are the ones who, for nearly an hour, were trying to figure out why the crap your mod said check battery to the point you just put the mod down and picked up another device (hi, that was me), sadly disappointed that the mod you bought just 48 hours ago was now borked, no, you had the convenience of having everyone else figure it out for you.

Oh, and to the one saying 'just reinstall 1.4 and vape on' guess what, 1.4 wasnt available to revert to until late last night, LONG after this problem had been found.

Fanboys is all I can say, you drank the KoolAid and Yihi can do no wrong. While other users hopefully by now have done some Googling and are breathing a sigh of relief, no thanks to Yihi, but thanks to a few wonderful users here who were able to figure out what the problem was and identify a fix, hopefully have a working device again, there are likely at least just a few that are still disappointed, hopefully, they noticed that the 1.4 firmware was put up so they put 2+2 together and just reverted back in a desperate attempt to get a working device because, Yihi surely has kept them in the dark.

There's 5 Mx locations for each Temp, Joule & Eco modes for a total of 15.
You mean Watt, Joule, and Eco mode correct? ( just so i'm not confused Temp and Joule the same thing)
I've pretty much solely have used this device as a temp device, haven't used wattage much - which also might explain why I haven't noticed this before.

And yes the different Mx locations is what i'm referring to. I just discovered it by accident. Maybe I should take a closer look at the manual...or maybe not..lol.

Well if the "&&" is a problem for you don't do the update. There's 2 bugs in the update that are not in the original version.

Yea, Power is W, Joule "Temp" is J and then Eco, You get 5 memory locations for each. Think @JimScotty0 pointed that out earlier in the thread when the update was released.

Edit: didn't realize what you were saying. I fixed that post. I wasn't thinking, thanks :)

Thank you for clarifying that for me. I must have missed/skipped that information earlier.

Also when locking in a new atty resistance it seems like there is no wait like there was before, just something I noticed.

Maybe I missed something but aren't there 15 in power mode and 15 in Joules mode for 30 total. I could be wrong since I have never used either one in Power mode.

No, were talking about the M1 - M5 memory locations. We have 3 sets with the 2.1 update for Power, Joule & Eco modes for a total of 20

I'm lazy and not checking ATM, but wouldn't that be 20 locations? 5 power, 5 Joules, 5 Eco/power and 5 Eco/joules?

Edit: I just tried it...and there are actually 20 memory locations available

What 2 bugs? Should I do the update?

The ordering of Powerful & Powerfu+ is reversed from 1.4
If you remove your battery when in Eco mode you'll receive "Check Battery" when it comes back up and be unable to use until you change to a different mode and remove battery again and replace it.

Hard to say if you should do it or not. Some have had no problems others have had a hard time.

I have purposely set to eco mode and took the battery out to test, and yes did get this issue. But was easy enough to recover from.
Have I heard wrong that if you downgrade to v1.4 then back to v2.1 that this may fix this issue? Has anyone tried?

I can live with that maybe. I thought you were gonna tell me Powerful && Powerfu+ haha I will try it and if I don't like it I can always revert back. I can't wait til the 29th of this month to put this mod in a orange sleeve :thumb:

Well if nothing else if you do it you'll get some experience with doing the update and work out any problems you may encounter. I actually thought they'd release a patch today but not seen it yet. Still think they will be releasing one soon though.
