As I found out if you apply the Test Patch be sure to reset your resistance after. That is the only thing I found that has to be reset unlike the upgrade which you have to reset all of your memory settings, Power&&Joules setting, Sensor On or Off, if turned off have to reset Display setting to Auto to have it work when in Normal mode and have display turn.

YiHi was nice enough to help some customers out and ask them not to distribute the test update. I see the file in a vendor website newsgroup and this on Facebook.

I bet YiHi customer service won't be so nice again.

Braddahbill,

I am not sure where you got your information about the Support Dept. supplied Test Update not for redistributing but I have to take issue with that claim.

I contacted "Fancy" a support agent at SXmini an she was more than glad to send me the file and even asked me to share it with friends and ask them to send feedback on it's effectiveness.

Copy of the email I received:

Dear George

Pls kindly see the attached file for test file.If you friends need, you can share with them.
If any feedback of the test file, you can tell us.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards
Fancy

If anyone wants the file PM me with an email address and I will be more than glad to send you a copy. Caveat - if I am inundated by request I may just stop responding. Please if you are not going to use it don't ask for it and I am also sure that SXmini will have the updated version posted on their WEB site very soon.

The news article on the Yihisxmini site states that there are some background processes that are disabled in Eco mode. Without seeing the code and what they are doing, my guess is that there is more going on than just the shorter timeout for the display. My thought is that something like the frequency at which it checks the resistance when firing may be reduced etc-- things that may give negligible effect on vape quality

Yea there are for sure other background process's disabled, most noticeable is the initial battery voltage check and battery bar that results in "Check Battery". And your right the only way to know exactly what's going on with it is to see the code. Looking at it from a user perspective we can see the obvious but that's about it.

I agree If I am now able to get 22000J on a battery instead of 18500J there is definately something else going on besides the 5sec display. Part of it is I am able to get as good a vape as I was on 410 degrees 18J with a setting now of 400 degrees 16J.

That still wouldn't explain the extra 3500J on a battery. Definately something else going on and I for one like it.

Some of us received the update Tuesday morning and the "Do not Distribute" note attached at that time was appropriate IMO. As over the course of a couple day's they've apparently had time to build confidence to the point that they're now saying "If you friends need, you can share with them" :thumb: It is still a test version however and we should still be seeing a new release "soon". I know I've said soon before I just don't think my soon and their soon is the same thing.:D

I got the same info do not share it. Now that they see it is working they probably aren't so worried. I wonder if when they come out with the update on the website if it will install over this or if there is any need to do it at all

Boy "legs" who knows I sure would make a point to read all the instructions and if they don't cover you concern I would email "Fancy" and see what they have to say about it.

The strange thing for years now is that most firmware flash packages just overwrote what was in the flash memory. The only problem with SXmini is their opinion of normal. Ugh!
