I was going to buy the Variant clone for the same price, friend has one and its built really really nice, but the overpowered chip at lower wattages, ans spending that much money on a clone with no warranty, I said what are you thinking and bought the Mini. Authentic, warranty, top tier quality...think I made the right choice.
You've made a wise decision.

YiHi sent me a pic of the device without the top cap to show how well it's separated from the electronics on the other side:

rounding third and heading home...
well, i have finally figured out how everything works(i am a slow learner) and to anyone debating whether to purchase this or not- DO IT!! this thing is the best mod i have ever used and the price now seems not only justified, but an incredible value, especially when you consider all the mods out there going from more to a lot more. the memory and the power modes make for the best vape i have ever had and all my other mods seem outdated. the ipv mini(with a yihi board) will become my out- and- about mod but this is now my only mod for use at homeand those protected vaping times. it is just a joy to hold and use- best buying decision i ever made and i will be happy to do it again when my vaping budget allows. one in each color sounds perfect....

edit- thanks retrox for you video. really helped explain everything i need to know. i really appreciate it.....

I can also see another one in black on the horizon... ;) I am still dumbfounded about the lack of reviews from the "usual suspects".. IMO, if there were a category for Best Sleeper Mod of 2014, the SXmini would win hands-down.. As well as being up in the top of best mods for the year period. :)

Well .. I received my SXmini today. Overall the build quality feels solid, and its attractive, I love the grey color. The presentation is very nice as some others have commented ..

But, it does have a minor imperfection as one of the seams near the top of the device is not flush. Its not a glaring flaw, but its a flaw nonetheless. You can see it on the right side between the grey body, and the silver frame.

Aha! A flaw! But hooray anyway, Nikki got one! Any plans for a proper review so people don't have to rely on a certain scatterbrained and yammering fool's YT video?

My gray will be here tomorrow, and someone will actually be at home to sign for the delivery... It's been a couple of years worth of vapemail since that happened.

Ahahaha .. I do plan to review it however, I think you did a fantastic job with your review I must say. You covered all of the essential points of the device, I thought it was perfectly done, and you should consider doing reviews more often. :) My review will have more porn though  :p

The grey color is gorgeous

I really was enjoying my sx , until it stopped working earlier... It keeps giving me a check battery message and is reading battery voltage and resistance wrong. Tried swapping out battery's and checked center pin .. Everything looks great lol

Have you tried a different atty? Which are you using? I see that you're into GG.. If you're using a NR/R wire build, I would check your wire joins, and go over the entire build, or try another atty if you haven't already. If you're using the Ithaka with the straight R wire kit, I would still check the build. Your issues kind of seems like what would happen if something were off in the build, and placing stress on the battery.

Regardless, with the 1 year warranty, you should have no problem getting an exchange. Please keep us posted on what happens, and how you are taken care of if it comes to that..

EDIT: If it's not the atty build, I would try running the current update to see if that sets things straight.. ;)

EDIT: Perhaps I'm misreading some of your post... "Tried swapping out battery's and checked center pin .. Everything looks great lol".... Was it just the battery, and swapping it out, and messing with the center pin solved the problem? It's close to 5:00 AM, and I kind of took it that you are still having issues even after swapping the battery.. I just may be tired though... ;)
