another review just came out today.

and a little more feedback/suggestions:

  • powerful/soft mode adjust-ability. for instances, strength can be changed from 5-20% of current watts setting, and duration .5-2sec.
  • stealth mode.

All About Vapor! That's my favorite store! I got my sxmini from there. If anyone visits Austin TX, swing by their store. You'll be amazed.

Can anyone confirm that the 510 connection is sealed as most attys leaks and don't want a fried mod.

there is some type of seal(Kind of a hard spongy material)...until someone takes one apart to confirm the quality of the seal/s and internals, I'd be careful.
I am currently only using my atty which doesn't leak from the 510 just to be safe...the mod is great but I am still not %100 confident in it(longevity and ease of "maintenance") til I see the insides or a cutaway diagram/etc.

I would like to say it's %100 sealed but I doubt anyone can say that for sure right now.

I don't think it would matter because it's separate from the chip. The 510 is above the battery.

Is the battery compartment sealed away from the chip? I know that's something I always worry with, when using the rDNA. It's not sealed and liquid does get in

That's good to know. Thanks for the information

Ease of maintenance? I've used an RBA a few times so far which occasionally leaks though the 510, and I just swab the connector out with a Q-Tip and alcohol.. ;) Other than that, I just wipe the mod down once in awhile to keep it clean. Not really much more maintenance to do than that, other than cleaning the battery contacts once in awhile. I see a pretty good seal when I look into the battery tube with a flashlight. It appears that it wouldn't be easy for juice to get through to the electronics...

EDIT: Perhaps ZeroOhm could comment on how well the connector is sealed... He did have his apart..

ease of maintenance- I probably should of said ease of disassembly...whether it be to replace a worn 510 or cleaning out after a tankful of juice covered the mod and seeped in between the buttons. (haha...yeah I am a little paranoid, but, it's happened before). I agree tho, a quick wipe is usually good enough and there isn't much a user needs to do besides that unless they have a big accident.

I don't really consider this a throw away mod(not saying anyone here does either)....so, knowing I could get into it to try and fix/clean it is a priority for me.(vs having a paperweight due to being out of warranty or high cost of shipping to China/etc)

Hopefully zero ohm can post up where things went bad during disassembly.

Just wanted to add:
if the inside looks as good as the outside....WOW, best mod I've had.

No one wants to take apart a mod that has a year warranty lol.

haha...yeah... I pretty much take a peek inside every new mod I get..not this one.
I had my Torx drivers ready to take it apart the day I was expecting it but then I read about zeroohms unfortunate incident and decided to hold off.

I'll probably take a peek after a few months if no one has.

Any leakage through the 510 should be fully contained by the battery tube, but there's definitely some kind of seal (looks like cork almost) around the pin. It looks porous like foam, but doesn't give when I poke it with my precision tweezers. Seems watertight to me. There are no seams on the enclosure that I could possibly imagine any juice finding its way into. Maybe if you dumped a couple of ml's directly on the screen... ;)

But still, yeah. Inquiring minds want to know. I'll probably feel a little better about opening one up when my second one arrives this weekend. We'll see, ZeroOhm has been teasing me about breakdown pics so hopefully he'll spare me the trauma and beat me to the punch.

YiHi confirms the 510 is sealed against any fluid.
Also in regards to the SX Mini vs rDNA...there isnt even a competition in my mind, the SX Mini looks better, has more power, future upgrades, built fabulously, and something you wont see very common. Unless TC is a requirement for you, the SX Mini is the clear winner.
That just IMO of course =)
