Cigtechs had just emailed saying they sent the black one I wanted. :p

They say they are currently about to open a forth store (B&M) .. Good for them..
Their stores seem to carry more than they offer online, but soon will expand their online web storefront to carry all the goodies they have in their stores.

I wished them good luck and good fortune, and Please have more nice sales!!
maybe some day they will be one of our own ECF suppliers.;)

I have a question about the SXMini that I hope some of you can answer.

Is it ok to vape on this mod while it is being charged with the onboard charger?

The reason I ask is that I spend about one half of a day at a local vape shop 2 or 3 times a week and I don't want to have to carry spare batteries with me if I don't have to. I have a 7000mah power pack(about the size of a cell phone) that has a 5 volt/1amp output that I can use to charge my SXMini. This power pack is made to charge cell phones, etc.
If it is ok to vape while charging, I can just plug my mod to the power pack when my battery starts to run down.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that this mod, when in bypass mode, put out up to 85 watts while on a charger???????

Yihi does not recommend charging and vaping concurrently.

I think you have misunderstood what they mean by "bypass mode" with a passthrough mode. The SX Mini cannot be vaped upon without a battery with enough charge to fire even when a usb cord is plugged in. What bypass mode does is bypass the chip and allows it to be fired without regulation like a mech mod with .09v voltage drop.

It's actually more accurate to say it's like using a mosfet box mod. The current doesn't run through the fire button because the chip completes the circut when the button is pressed, just like a mosfet. Protection without regulation.

OK folks apologies for not posting unfortunately this is the time of year we can get some bad weather (for us brits anyhow;) and this took priority.

xx.jpg

I have only scan read the thread due to time you have all been busy! I didnt get a chance to take pics but I will this weekend I only have a few hours a week to spend on vaping, when I get back to the city as the rest of the time I am on a boat.

A few points the 510 uses a brass screw if you unscrew this fully the assembly will drop down and you wont be able to reattach it, the only way todo so is to disassemble the unit.
The self adjusting 510 is pretty much a 1st generation for the chinese it does not have the finesse of a Varitube or FDV it uses some kind of material I think is phenolic (flooring / Zero clone) and comprises of a brass screw, a phenolic washer/disc, a spring with no current transfer, a phenolic insulator and the assembly which when put together the brass screw compresses it all together into and screws into the metal assembly. When removing the brass screw care is need the phenolic washer/disc and spring do not liberate themselves;)

The SX350 mini 16G output wire is soldered to the metal assembly. Great care must be taken if you disassemble as with all these compact mods (SX mini / Zero etc) all wiring is very short the 510 return GND is soldered to a steel lug on the 510 this caused me a world of pain when it became detached, if you have experience with soldering to steel then this will be no problem but don't expect to be as simple as soldering to copper, brass or a PCB *** This is a warning *** ;)

You can pretty much safely adjust the case / battery tube fitting by removing the battery cap and loosening the 3 long torx bolts in case there are no anti tamper stickers of any kind in the mod but take great care I don't want anyone to ruin there SX mini.

I will post back over the weekend when I finally get time to I hope. IF anyone has any questions feel free to post or PM, it may take me sometime to reply but I will try as best I can.

Good to hear from you ZeroOhm and thanks for the info!

Sticking a screwdriver into a self adjusting spring loaded 510 for any reason is not something I would ever suggest. That being said, I did attempt to adjust the screw for my Magma (that darned curiosity), but relented quickly when I realized that it would've taken excessive force to break the threads free. After that, I figured that unscrewing that pin would detach the entire assembly and apparently I was right. Looks like YiHi has removed that slot from the new pin to keep people from trying to turn it.

We are glad to know so many vaporizers love our SXmini device.

Please be informed that it is Prohibited to screw the Center Pin of the 510 connector. Because we already fixed and soldered inside. If you screw the Pin and damage the device, which will be out of warranty.

If you have any questions you can contact with our Customer Service Team Cservice@yihisxmini.com

I definitely hope that works out for you!

If the price were maybe $20-$40 less than MSRP, then I might be more inclined to believe that the vendor had gone rogue and was offering a nice discount. But 60% off MSRP? Amazing if true. I wonder if it is possible that these have been cloned already and that is what is being offered?

EDIT: It appears they also offer an additional 10% off if you sign up for their newsletter.

sorry, yihi, but on this you are just wrong. saying you have a spring-loaded 510 connection is not the same thing as stating the you must not adjust the slotted screw inside the 510 connection. anyone who vapes and sees that screw would believe it was adjustable. especially if you never stated that it wasn't adjustable. i would think that the screw could be adjusted in or out to alter the length of the spring-loaded throw. it is an honest and quite natural mistake unless it is stated in your paperwork not to do that. instead you just say it is spring-loaded and leave it at that. now you are revising the product with a flat screw head(which should have been in it from the beginning.)
this is from an owner who has had no issues with my sx mini. this is not"sour grapes" just an honest response to yihi. i suppose you are in your rights to not warrant someone who adjusted that screw and broke it. i still think that is wrong. look, i have been one of the biggest fans of this device- i love it and will continue to tell anyone how great it is, but on this one issue i think you are wrong and will continue to say so. if someone messed up their 510 connection because you put in a slotted screw and never wrote to not touch that screw you should repair it. period. end of comment....

edit-i re-read the manual that came with my device. NO mention of the 510 connection. under"precautions" might have been a nice place to mention the 510 connection and not to tinker with the screw-you didn't.
