To my dismay, I recently found out that my VS rDNA30 does not have voltage stepdown. I normally vape at 12 to 16 watts and with a low ohm coil (1 or less), I sometimes get a flashing ohm display indicating that the Evolve DNA30 chip can't output voltage low enough to achieve my wattage setting. Instead, the chip outputs whatever is my current battery voltage. This is probably not a problem for you since you vape at 25-35 watts, but I just wanted to point that out.

And congrats on the new baby!

DITTO on the "congrats", TC - after all, THAT'S the important stuff.

And Pete, the 40 corrected the long known problem of step-down, but as you said, that won't be an issue (given the 25-35 range). You can fix yours, if you wish, with moving to a higher resistance. I had the same issue with my original "20", way back when.

Ah, the speed of the vape continues...

MARVELOUSLY too!

I pulled the trigger on the M class last week, missed the pre-order price of $200 CDN (be about $158 USD) by a week and paid $240 CDN ($190 USD) for it....

...got an email from DashVapes today telling me the applied a $40 credit to my credit card and were charging me the early bird pre-order price :)

I love that shop. They always treat me well.

I really like my rDNA40s, I'm anxious to see how the SX mini stacks up.

It has an accurate, real-time voltage display.. The bar indicator shows battery sag quite well also.. ;)

EDIT:

PBusardo has a glowing vid review of the device here:

perfect. definitely dropping 200 clams on the m-class. not pre-ordering just out of principle though because i always at least try to read a review on reliability/build quality

How do the Canadians get the M Class cheaper than we do in the US eh?

The DNA30 doesn't have step down (4 volts to 8.3 volts) but the DNA 40 does (1 volt to 9 volts).

Thanks for the congrats.

I got in on the $200 pre-order from Dash too, just two days before the price went up to $240. Glad they did you right. ;)

How do the Canadians get the M Class cheaper than we do in the US eh?

They and a lot of Canadian sites often do a pre-order special on the hot new thing, then it goes to the regular price which will pretty much be the same as it is int the US and work out to $199USD when you factor in the exchange rates :2cool:

They had a very similar deal with the rDNA40s.

I honestly didn't expect it, but I'm not surprised either. Those guys have been nothing but a pleasure to deal with. It probably also doesn't hurt that I'm a regular customer and spend healthy amounts there.

On a side note, now that they are testing their house line of juices, I've bought the sample packs, really liked a lot of them, so my last 4 orders have been mainly their house juices. Actually I've quit buying juice from any company that doesn't have test results of their products available online or a local B&M shop that has it on hand. Now that the ECTA seems to be gathering steam, I expect to see a lot more companies up here following suit.

What's not to like? The sell only quality stuff, all authentic, they test their juice and post the results, they have competitive pricing across the board, and most importantly know how to treat their customers right.

rounding third and heading home...
now for an interesting turn of events-
i have 2 sx minis and have debated internally the desire for the new version vs. waiting for yihi to improve the m class to a v2 or v3. i have also been waiting patiently for the extension tube to explore the possibilities with dual battery modes. in the end i decided to hold off on the m class pre-order and continue to enjoy the my s class mods. i decided to order an ipv4 dual 18650 mod as a back-up - it uses an yihi board and it has the dual battery set-up in more friendly form factor than the extension tube(if it ever gets released)
so, lo and behold, i check on the status of the ipv4 pre-order and i see this posted:UPDATE: P4YOU HAS ANNOUNCED THE iPV4 NOW UTILIZES TEMPERATURE CONTROL USING THE YIHI SX330-V4S CHIP.
wow! ,it means i don't have to get an m class for temp control after all and i can remain patient about the extension tube release. a nice pleasant surprise from yihi- the device was ordered without the tc board and now they are including it the device for the same price- less than half the price of an sx mini. i will continue to use and enjoy my 2 minis and my decision to hold off on a new one seems a wise one(for me).for the first time vaping i have decided not to purchase a device and it turned out to be ok. i am not that interested in temp control but it will be nice to try it out with a real yihi board and without having to spend another $200(or so) . i can always get an m class down the road if it turns out to be worthwhile or just wait for a new yihi mod(hopefully dual battery).
i can't wait to hear how good the m class performs but i will always enjoy my s class and keep vaping them until either i or the devices die. they still remain the best things i have purchased in vaping and only wish yihi made an RTA to go with them... i know it would be perfect.....

Thanks. I got my upgrades mixed up (my only DNA is a 20). So, the 30 was just the lock screen? I thought there was something else (but I'm obviously no expert).

Yes, for $95.00 it is a great buy! 100W dual 18650 and YiHi chip. How can you go wrong?!?!?! I am not a fan of the form factor, and like the size/style of the SXmini more, but for those wanting to vape over the 60W its a steal!

The units are/were supposed to ship w/o the TC, but available the 1st week of April by a USB software update. Now that P4Y has delayed shipping, maybe the update won't be necessary?

I've seen even cheaper than that. ;)

The guy running the GB I ordered from said his contact at p4y told him they weren't shipping any ipv4s without the TC firmware update.

The GB for the IPV4 I got in on was also cheaper and included free priority shipping. Should be shipping from China around the first of April. I could not pass up on it at this price point, however I will still get the SXmini m class also when it becomes available. I have enjoyed my SXmini s class and so far it is the best money I have spent on vaping gear. I am a fan of the Yihi boards/chips.

They lowered the price back down to $200. Glad however people have been getting credits after ordering at the higher price.
They havent lowered it back down to 200CAD, it's still 249CAD. (200US).

I just talked to them about it. They said YiHi wouldn't allow them to sell it for 200CAD anymore, total bummer. I was so hoping I could still snag one for the original preorder price, totally bummed right now

Oh well, ya win some ya lose some. I should have done my homework, had I any idea the preorder deal was going on I would have orders it on the spot.

No real reason to preorder now I don't think. The GBs I found out about were all over, Dash preorder is over, and YiHi is running a hardline on the price now anyways. Ah fooey, lol

Meh, I'll probably still just grab it from Dash because they were totally awesome when I contacted them. It was ridiculous how quickly they got back to me about it, so kudos to them. Still kinda bummed out though, lol, would have been a nice little savings.
