So you think it will stand the test of time, do you have the m class or ml class of the mini and how has it held up?
I have two M class mods, well two in the house as one is my wife's. Mine was purchased last April and hers in June. Hers was replaced by the vendor for a battery tube thread issue after a couple months of use. Both have had some finish issues. Imo they are solid performers and if they fit your needs you should be satisfied with the M or the ML. I would hold off and purchase after the release of the Q to see what that does to the pricing of the ML.
They aren't concerns, they're REAL technological limitations. There's one thing about preference, then there's straight denial.
1. There are no true 30A CDR 18650's
2. Getting a flat, direct 200W even with boost safely out of two 18650's is impossible.
3. Firing anything under 0.01ohms with only 200W at a vapable voltage is impossible.
4. The software screenshots look extremely cheap and poorly put together.
5. The price tag is outrageous considering the last mod they released was the same price and launched with software issues.
6. Some of the claims it has are very dubious sounding.
7. It appears to be a desperate, rushed device that was announced only weeks after the ML class failed to gain any real traction.
8. Yihi hasn't been doing too well lately.
These aren't exactly matters of opinion, they're facts. When people ignore that many red flags it just looks like, well, denial. Yihi releasing a flagship mod two months after a version two of their old flagship mod was released to poor responses from customers is SKETCHY. Then all these claims, some of which are basically lies. I just don't find it right to see hype being drummed up for a mod that can't do some of the things it says, and that isn't opinion, I won't have to wait for it to be released, you can't just change the fundamental limitations of electronics.
Not sure if your Bye Felicia post was genuine or not but I will take the time to reply anyways.
I am not sure why you think Yihi is not doing to well currently. Is this a opinion statement or do you have some data to show that they are struggling?
Sure imo the ML may have been kind of a odd release when the Q was already on the drawing board and truthfully I expect the price of the ML to drop with the release of the Q and if it does that might cause some butthurt to the people that paid two bills for it.
It seems to me that Evolv rushed the dna 200 release and relied on firmware fixes to keep the machine rolling and while we all wish we were not paying to beta testers at least with firmware updated devices a patch is often soon to follow known issues.
Price is subjective and while this device may not ever appeal to many due to the cost I believe they will appeal well to the type that will spend their money on a SX or dna200. Of course I wish I could grab the Q for the price of a RX200 but in turn I wish I could snag a Mel, Wap, Top Hat, Zero, or any other of the usual suspects for true RRP.
Exaggerated claims is not a uncommon in the mod market. Sure there are a couple exceptions like Provape and maybe Evolv but for most some exaggeration happens. In my opinion most of the exaggeration of specs when it comes to Yihi tends to happen more with their budget boards that go into the ipv line for example, and that so far the top tier of their boards have been consistent with their claims. So will the Q be able to carry that same expectation? That for me has yet to be determined, but many of us that will throw a couple hundred at this device is doing so based off our past experiences with the SX devices and our experiences with their top tier line of boards.
For me their has yet to be that one perfect device. I enjoy my Opus 200 without issue but would find the recharge time to be a serious con for the device if it was my only mod. The M class I find can be a little bit limiting as to what it can do and I find it can chew through some batts throughout the day. The list can go on and on for any of my mods here, but the point is that they all have their pros and cons and as a consumer it is up to me to decide what checks as many boxes of my desires that I want out of a mod.
While the Q will not be for everyone and no doubt some will buy it and turn right around and sell it due to weight, size, or just a preference to another device. Bottom line is that it is just a mod and not that serious. You either want it or you don't.
I ran across a new photo of the Q on FB and I have to admit the size did surprise me but it's not going to stop me from buying one.
The size is a bit of a disappointment to me. I have a Renegade RGX II from Varitube with the v2 J board in it and it is just a hair taller than the M class and with two batts feels a touch lighter than the M class. I have heard that the Q board will not be a modders board (at least not for awhile) so the only way initially to experience the Q will be through this device. I forgot about the Breezy sale and I am digging the Renegade, so I might just hold off on the Q until it is released to let them work out the bugs and to get the real specs especially the size and the weight.
