The math on 2 18650's @ 200 watts doesn't add up. Not knowing how Yihi has designed the board isn't fair to Yihi.

I don't think Yihi will tell ya much about board design (most companies won't) but I did pose this question to Yihi on the SX Mini Q Facebook page:

What specific batteries does Yihi recommend using while vaping the Q at 200 watts? Which batteries are safe to use at 200 watts?

The YiHi website is down so I can' DL the manual....
  • does the "Q" have more than one memory location for TCR values?
I have to admit that a bunch of 'lessor mods' (less in price) has me spoiled with multiple memory slots so I don't have to dial it in every time I switch tanks to a different wire type.

Yep, their web site has been down since yesterday. Maybe this will help till ya can get the manual. ( ML video but should start at time location [7:38 minutes into the video] showing the software and the configuration section)

Hope this is what you are wanting...

It's because it can achieve 200 watts for a short period. It's no different than the other 30 or so mods that claim to get 200 watts. It's just a max rating and nothing more. For some reason people are failing to understand that. It's no different than auto manufacture advertising a car that has 750 horsepower that is only achievable with the motor out of the car. People need to learn max ratings from a manufacture and real life ratings are 2 different things.
The problem is really the batteries, there are no 18650s currently out that can do 200 with two batteries safely and consistently. If we ever get true 40+ amp 18650s 200w out of two batteries shouldn't be a problem. However, as the q-class (and mods such as the Cuboid) is firmware updateable manufacturers should refrain from having 200w settings until (if ever) proper batteries are available.

instead of criticizing you'd better try it :)
The ML class also can make 200W... electronic safety devices are there to make you stay safe :)
If your battery plummet too or heating too the SXmini tells you.
Yihi is safe...I vape for more than 2 years with them and no problems...
all my SXmini and box home made still work very well

Yihi updated their web info and here is one snapshot from this link:

YiHi SXmini Q Class Powered by SX450J

And here is a battery test results for a 3000 mah 40A battery:

Test/Review of AWT IMR18650 3000mAh (Red) 40A 2015

Conclusion (as stated in the test):
The 40A rating sounds a bit high, but the cell do handle 20A very well.

Which batteries do you use to vape at 200 watts and what coil ohm's are you rocking?

I made a video tomorrow ;) i use 2 VTC5 in my Q class but 200w is not my vape , it's only for the fun ...
and show you that it is possible

Yep the Q is capable of 200 watts as seen in Yihi's video....

VTC5's are rated at "Max. continuous discharge current: 20A". Pulling over 35 amps out of a 20 amp battery...... not me.....

Hi Folks, great to see people are getting their Q classes, I see this thread has once again turned in to regurgitating battery safety.

Yihi were muppets rating this at 200 watts, totally agree with that and I appreciate there is some genuine concerns from people but seriously it's so boring hearing the same things said again and again and again and again and again.............................

I think the Q class is a beauty, can't wait for mine to arrive, they are slow getting to the UK! Now people are getting them it would be nice to have a place to talk about our thoughts on it, share pics etc.... The whole reason the "part 2" thread was made was to leave the battery discussions behind.

Hoping we will also see the new Yihi SX pure tank very soon after a discussion I had with Queenie from Yihi support ;)

That's cool, I've been wondering when their tank was going to come out. There's been no talk about it on their FB page.

Hi to you too..... yep folks are starting to get the Q (or are getting antsy for theirs to ship). Reminds me of an older vaping song which hasn't been seen in any thread for some time now. Here it is for those who are awaiting vape mail. The song was put up on YouTube on August 20, 2011.

must..... fight..... urge...... to get red one.....
Don't fight the urge, just look at that gorgeous red, sparkling glossy finish saying "buy me GeorgeS"

I'm really hoping the delay was down to the IPV sx pure tank flopping, it didn't get very favourable reviews, fingers crossed Yihi went back to the drawing board and mastered it!

I didn't like the IPV tank but I guess for people that do direct lung hits and never lay their mod down might like the tank. I'm hoping the YIHI tank has the option to restrict the airflow more and fixes the leaking when you lay the tank on it's side. Then it will be a good tank. :)

I used my IPV tank once. Packed it up and it's sitting in the closet.
I'm confident that Yihi has taken all the comments and perfected it.
I'll definitely buy their version of the pure tank. And then buy the red Q after the novelty of my black one wears off. A set of brown doors and I will officially be on Yihi overload.

Plus it seemed to not take high vg either. That tank was dreadful for me. But it wasn't too bad at a lower wattage. Just not my cup o' tea. I'll probably pass on the Yihi version.
