Smoking or vaping inside of an eating establishment, even loitering in front of the building/parking lot can persuade people not to come back. You should always be considerate and respectful of the place you're entering / the people around and ask if it would cause a disturbance if you vaped there. This is how vaping will get a good name.

There are also ordinances and such in cities and counties (not a state level) banning vaping with the tobacco lobby support I am sure. Its easier for them to do it city by city then lobby to get a statewide law passed and then when they have enough cities banning it the do go to the state and say 'loook they all have vaping bans but they are all slightly different lets get a state law to make sure we get the few that have not so far and make sure they all operate under the same tight law. Its also a lot easier to get an ordinance passed and past vaping supporters can in some places all it takes is a presentation to a city council and a vote. They don't make big announcements on what they are voting on so its often a done deal before its noticed.

I have no problem with no vaping in a restaurant and other places but I do have a problem when its equated to smoking and banned in the same manner and enough education has not been done/given. What about bars that don't serve food - many have had to already make private vaping clubs so vapers (like smokers) can hide in the back and have a drink and a vape. And there are no pol tables back there...

But yeah the parking lot thing. All your putting in the air is a bit more humidity not sure why it should be banned outside.

Even if there was a smoking section inside restaurants, I still wouldn't smoke inside. I can wait the hour or so it takes to order food then and consume it. But once outside, it was lit up as soon as the door closed behind me. I guess I was the guilty smoker as well.

Yeah, I would nic fit usually and try to only smoke with other smokers or out of the public eye. Weird I know but I didn't want people to assume I was just the jerk who didn't care about others and their non smoking. Now that I vape I vape outside without reservations.

what gets me is the ignorance that goes into many of these "decisions". we are treated like second hand citizens, and always expected to worry about others wants and worries. I generally dont smoke or vape in a restuarant with others anywhere near, but its the thought that they expect preferential treatment from me and any establishment that they may be in.

Not really. It's the same as most offices not allowing the use of perfumes and colognes. People don't want vapor blowing around in their faces. It's not ignorance, they institute polocies like this because of complaints from the majority of their customers. No one in their right mind would cater to a small percentage of their customer base.

It should be common sense. If you can't wait to vape for the 5 minutes it takes to eat a couple of tacos, use the drive thru.

Gotta agree here. When those that are uninformed (especially the radical, anti-everthings) see clouds of what looks just like smoke in their general proximity, you are gonna get a reaction.

I would love to see vaping accepted everywhere.
Guess what? Likely ain't ever gonna happen! So, hopefully, some common sense will prevail, or vaping in certain places will cause you problems.

And Taco Bell? I crave those Crunch Wraps as much as I crave some of my ejuices...
(Did anyone happen to see the 'Killing Bin Laden' segment on 60 minutes where the Navy Seal who just returned from the mission stopped at the Taco Bell drive-thru for dinner? Classic.....)

I have to agree, even when I was an analog smoker, It really bothered me when there was smoke lingering in the air when I was trying to eat. I could see the same for the vapor, even though it doesn't smell. I really don't want someones dirty breath vapor floating by me.

But, jerzi, aren't other people's dirty breath exhalants floating by you, anyway? You just can't see the exhalants. By your reasoning, you should just stay a goodly safe distance away from everyone.

Yeah, it bugs me. I don't know anyone who likes talking to someone with dirty nasty breath. They should post signs outside about hygiene also.

Personally, I’d be surprised if vapers somehow manage to escape the treatment that smokers currently get. For one thing, I don’t think that the general public is going to take the time to see the distinction between the two. Smell or no smell, carcinogens or no carcinogens, most people are simply not going to be happy about their kids walking through a cloud of vapor. Not to mention, the tobacco lobby is going to push heavily for vaping to get the same treatment as smoking. So, even if vaping isn’t prohibited under some form of regulation where you live at the moment, I’m positive it will be once it’s a topic the general public is aware of.

I agree, there is a sense of inevitability that vaping will be lumped in with anti-smoking laws soon. I can handle not vaping in restaurants and bars or public buildings and such. Just don't tax my juice and let me vape on the beach... please...:nun:

Shhhh but Just for the record, I would vape a doritos juice...
