4 to 5 mm should do, the TGT 1 draw tubes are 10 mm long.
Thanks man. Just to be clear. They halved the length for the tgt2? Thanks a bunch for he help. It's the last hope before I sell the gt2. It's a shame if I bought one more base is have all the parts to build a. Second one.

Tonight's build. Just to test density. I don't expect to love this build but I happen to have a Premade Clapton coil sitting around. Pain to get it decided under the small posts. But finally secure.

I expect the base to get uncomfortably hot. And I expect it to take forever on the first draw to heat up. I opted to make a fifth turn rather than keep the four. For increased resistance. But in hindsight it just means that much longer to heat up.
Maker instead these coils are durable. I'll remove a turn if necessary or to test. I still have one of these in a dripper I've been using for s year. Just dry burn. Rewick. Off you go.

Lung hitters have it easy! My delicate coils last like four days

I've run into the first real issue with my GSL. The 510 screw and spring have rusted. I guess I should have properly dried then after washing. I was able to get a replacement screw at the hardware store, but not the spring. The screw now (flat head not phillips) screws in further and tighter, but I cleaned the spring to the best of my abilities and continue to use it, however this have cause serious TC issues. I'm currently vaping at 280f to 300f which is way low, but any higher Temps cause burning.

I'm not 100% sure the 510 screw is my only issue here.. Any advice?

Well the screw in my GSL appears to be silver plated brass or ? so I was a bit impressed by it.
The spring is to help hold the 510 screw's adjustment. You might try cutting a small piece of metal, perhaps from a smaller od screw and drop it in so the 510 screw has something to bottom out against. A thin metal sleeve of the correct length would work nicely.
I put a piece of copper bell wire, about 22 gauge, in place of the coil and use "atomizer analyzer" in EScribe to check my decks. Expect something around 0.02Ω or lower to be good for TC. Don't fire it what ever you do....LOL

My Shenray GSL also appears to have silver plated pin & spring. I would probably try a short vinegar soak, run some fine wire into every orifice, rinse in a little alcohol then blow it out to dry. I've never taken my 510 pin out except for initial wash, subsequent cleaning has all been hot water rinse then blow it out with my lung powered hot air. Doesn't appear mine has had any corrosion issues.

I've had some success with about 10 minutes in vinegar then a stiff toothbrush scrub for removing light to medium corrosion.

We talking authentic here, or clone?

I occasionally clean my Hotcig 510 screws as they can develop some resistance. I do this by holding the threaded part of the screw tightly with paper towel and turning the screw with a screw driver in and out a few times. I maybe do this about once a week.

Hi Fellow Taifun-ites

Funny , I came here to share a similar post regarding cleaning.

I have 2 GSL. Use them constantly. Noticed one acting odd; occasional dry hit or real harsh and DT getting real hot. Checked the resistance, cleaned and same. Changed out coil, still happening.

Decided to take it apart and clean screws and threads and very dirty with oxidation and juice gunk.

Washed, cleaned and now its like day one.

I like to occassionally break down all my atties and do a real good cleaning in an ultrasonic tank. With my old GG Odys, I could take it all down. With the TFGSL and GT 2, is it possible to take it all apart? I ve been told that its not a good idea to put plastics in ultrasonic baths.

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Only the base of the Hotcig TGT 2 and one of the 22 mm GS 2 clones (non Hotcig) does the base disassemble by normal means.

I received my tubing today from
Amazon and my replacement parts kit from Vapinart. Man the vape is so
Much more dense wih the airflow reduced

Here's he tubing from Amazon that was $4 listed a couplePages back 15-16 inches or so. Definitely feels like the same material in the original parts kit.

I haven't had any issues yet with the Hotcigs but I did with the tobeco, These work well. Remove the screw, spring and insulator, screw in tight then dremel with a cut-off wheel to desired length. Polish with fingernail board, stone or whatever.

Hello Ya'll. I got my GT-2-S (the Hotcig one, Thanks @dwcraig1) from FT on Monday the 7th, and couldn't be happier. When a person first gets into vaping, one doesn't have much of an idea just what one wants for a nice pleasurable vape experience. I know I have tried a lot of different setups, and while nice, still left me wanting. I can say that I am now, so very close to reaching that spot of vaping pleasure, I FINALLY know what I want. I still am waiting on my Hurricane to come in from FT though, and will compare this GT-2-S to it, and maybe be done with the whole wasting of money on devices that don't quite hit the mark. This GT-2-S is a pleasure to use, in every sense of the word. :)

My setup with this is:
6 wraps of 30g. Twisted Kanthal A-1 on a 2.5mm Coil Master (not spaced), with a 7mm wide slice of KGD (with top layer removed) and wick ends "S" shaped coming out of the coil to block the juice feed holes (but not sticking thru them), the coil is about half it's height above the screw heads, top cap is screwed down tight, I have 1 air hole on each side open and am using the supplied air reducer tube for the air hole under the coil, I have my Cuboid set at 12.5 watts (but still experimenting) and am using my own juice mix of Unflavored ECX Nic at 10mg/ml with 2% FA Flash in a 50/50 solution. :thumb:

When my Hurricane gets here I will decide which to order several more of, but, I am thinking it will be the Taifun GT-2-S. Boy Howdy this thing is nice, I'm love'in It.

Thank You All Very Much :) for all you're posts in this thread that have gotten me to this point in time and this discovery.

Back to page 132 of this thread to read up some more on this atomizer.

THIS is EXACTLY why I do not deviate from the Taifun.............
