Indeed! I can get mine to just below the threads on the top cap, but take the chance of leaking through the air hole, a game of cat and mouse that I seem to enjoy.

This is the smaller tank, but I get the same results with the larger tank. Just invert the metal and plastic parts and you can see how full you can get the Taifun with the "window" on the top.

Where did you get the small tank?

My GT is in the mail along with a SS tank, i cant tell you how excited i am. Now how strong is the tank that comes with it? I have some real TANK KILLERS...

Welcome and congrats on your Taifun GT. A great little rebuildable tank atomizer, and one that I use virtually exclusively these days. Can't tell you from experience about tank killing eliquids, but the stainless tank should help alleviate that concern. Good luck with your new GT!

It's really solid. I dig it muchly. Only gripe I've got is the brass plating on the top cap. It's coming off already. I've decided to let the tube patina and so far, that's pretty slow-going. I guess that's a good thing. This is my only copper tube so I kind of expected it to tarnish as quickly as my brass mods. No biggie. I highly recommend it. 'cept I probably paid too much; $50 for just the 18650 and caps. I think I coulda got a full set for a bit less if I had shopped around more.

Well I like yours better.

.....

I was switching wicks on my Taifun Saturday and was going to rinse out the tank. The tank, with top cap and drip tip still attached, slipped out of my hand and landed in my sink at the perfect angle so that it split all the way around the diameter right where the plastic part of the tank presses into the SS portion.

Trying to decide if I should just buy a clone and use it for spare parts because I'm not having much luck finding replacement tanks.

Any recommendations?

Sorry I have been away from this thread for awhile.....but all the while enjoying my TGT's and even have The EYE coming :D

Anyway I did read (skim) through most of the posts while I have been away, but I have a question regarding the FT hcigar clone or FT with spare parts clone.

I got two of them right when they were available. I sent one to a friend and kept one. Both of us are having unexplained leaking (both 510 and airhole). The 510 is easy enough to fix, but I was wondering if this was common with this model from FT and if there are any fixes I overlooked?

I have an authentic TGT as well as two or three of the original FT TGT's. I have taken the bases apart before and etc.....just didn't want you to think this was my first rodeo

I haven't had any time to spend to investigate closer (yet). Any insight would be much appreciated :D

Since I'm here I will share my latest go to setup for the last few weeks.

Dual 30g coils wrapped around a 16g hypo needle for ~1.3Ω - wick is ramie top fiber

The ramie last longer than even hemp!!! and with the ramie I can vape the tank bone dry :D

That is interesting how you set it up with dual coils, do you have any other pics of just the coils without the filler to get a better idea of how you ran the wire? As far as the leaking, it looks like you still have the air tube in it. Could you raise it up a little so the juice won't get down the center hole? I have a clone by Cigreen and took out the center tube but left the plastic insulator sticking up a little so juice won't go down the air hole. It seems to be working fine for me, haven't had any leaking that I have noticed. When I rebuild/refill I usually take my air compressor blow nozzle and blow it out through the side air hole to get any juice/water out of the base. It's been working great so far.

The center tube sticks up above the base, it's setup just like authentic TGT and other FT TGT's.

It has to be leaking through one of the two oring seals or the outside of the pressed in base.

The coils are just ran parallel and then the ends twisted together.

Here is a pic of the coils....and I don't have better pic of them mounted.

With that setup do you need to keep the coils separated or can they touch a little? I'm guessing you have to keep them separate to keep from shorting. Have you tried this setup with cotton? If so how did you like it? I might have to try this setup some time.
