Took My Taifun GT apart for a good cleaning today. Made a micro coil 1.3 ohm pulled cotton through it then laid a similar amount of cotton over the top of the coil and out both sides. Monster vapor at 11 watts. Flavor not as good as I would like, but this is a new juice I have never tried before, might just be I'm unfamiliar with it.

Very pleased with this build.

My first build on my Taifun GT is still the one I use, after multiple experiments. I use 9 wraps of 28g kanthal, around a 1/16" drill bit. Sterile cotton wick from a cotton ball. I haven't found it necessary to put an additional piece of wick across the top of the coil. The single cotton wick swells up enough, when it's saturated, for it to be leak free.

Is the copy he is reviewing available somewhere?

Pretty sure Timmy has the one they are selling on fast-tech just got it quicker from a guy who got it from the factory. I guess we won't know for sure until we get ours. The fast-tech forums has very interesting posts, like this one : 2013 Hot Clear Top Cap Tank Combination Of Kayfun Lite And Taifun Gt Tank Airflow Control - Buy Tank Atomizer,Taifun Gt Tank,Kayfun Lite Product on Alibaba.com Props to DirkBongo for pointing out the fast-tech posts. Question now is where do I get the cloned SS tank lol.

Oh snap, another one : Newest Map Tank E-cigarette Hammer Mod Nemesis Mod Steam Turbine Kraken Clone Taifun Atomizer - Buy Taifun Atomizer,New E Cigarette,Chi You Mod Product on Alibaba.com (same supplier)

I've been running cotton for a couple weeks now. My build is 7 wraps of 30ga kanthal on a 6/32 screw that comes in at 2.1Ω. I've tried microcoiling but it was too warm for my taste. I usually run this build at 4.2v and get what I consider some amazing flavor out of my daily juice.

For wicking I open up a sterile cotton ball and break it down into quarter lengths. I form one quarter into a wick to feed the coil, it's pretty narrow, and then add two small additional pieces of cotton that I only run through the feeder holes. It's a fast build and so far no real leaking.

Looking for a cheap/affordable stainless steel mech that would be flush with my TGT, any suggestions? Am not opposed to clones. Would like small as possible, perhaps a lock ability for pocket carry, flat (stealth) top. All I have now is my Provari, which is fine but I have had it set to 3.6/3.7V since I got them so am wondering what is the point anymore exactly. Would like to sell it if I can find a good flush mech for these tanks.

*Edit - Just cancelled my order on the clones, I think I'm going to get a bulldog basic instead. :)

Wow..that looks very close. (The screws in the post are oh so slightly different) He also mentions the one on FT and says its not as good but he hasnt seen it yet?

Timmy had previously said that all these clones were coming from the same factory, the review on Youtube was produced for a specific vendor selling his copy for $40 - by saying the Fasttech version was inferior I'd say he was humoring the guy he's doing the review for.

My take on these clones, if I like the clone version then I'll buy the real one - $200 is too much to risk on something I might not like.

I took a plunge and ordered one from FT...It is just $20 so I got nothing to loose and if I don't like it I willl sell it off at a half of the price...

I'm using a Fogger, and building inside the deck has become easy for me...getting it to wick properly without flooding or LEAKING....that's the trick!

Assuming the flavor from the Fogger is similar to that of the taifun gt (what the Fogger is based on? ) I'm not sure how I feel yet... I'm sure my issues are user error, but I was able to afford a $40 "inspired by" device before dropping big money on the authentic one. Please don't misunderstand, I'm not trying to talk down about anything here. I read this thread because the TGT inspired what I bought, and some of you TGT owners are having the exact same issues I am. :( that's shocking and disappointing.

My goal is enjoy the device, not want to throw it across the room.

I've yet to get the GT to perform without flooding, which leads to leaking. I've ran microcoil/cotton, & this last build is the stock silica tripled and STILL floods. Flavor is just eh.

I purchased with the service kit & spares bag, so are there any adjustments I need to make?

I have only used hemp fiber with micro coils and it took a few tries to get it dialed in but now it doesn't flood at all.

You could try a larger air tube, so there is less vacuum pulling liquid in. The other sized air tubes are bought ala cart. However a 14g hypodermic needle cut to size is a tight fit in the insulator, but it will work and increases the air hole to a little over 1.5mm. Or you could always drill out the spare air tube that comes in the maintenance kit.

I use a 1.5 mm microcoil with hemp. ( also increase the airflow to a 1.5 ID mm tube). After threading the coil and bringing the legs through the slots, I fold them back into the atty and then once more fold them back out. So I have a triple diameter vs the coil. Usually this creates a perfect barrier, but still allows good juice flow. If you get some gurgle, Take another piece of short piece of wick material, roll it up and lay it on top of the slot.

So if you use a 2mm coil, you may only need to fold it over once. etc....

Its a bit of trial and error, but once you nail it, its completely repeatable. Not sure how hemp compares to the stock silica for the build, so it may be slightly different.

For a couple months I was building with silica per the recommendations in the user guide which are three 2mm silica wicks. I never had any flooding with this setup unless I was on an airplane, in which case ensuring it was upside down guaranteed no leaking. I would feed two strands through my coil and lay one over top and I am also using the largest air tube.

Cotton has taken a bit more work as it's more difficult to get consistently sized cotton wicks but the flavor experience has definitely been worth it.

I ordered a GT clone and a Fogger v2 from FT. If I'm not mistaken the difference of the clone and the real thing is the deck side wall. I believe the real GT the deck walls can push down so you can build easier then just pull it back up when done, but the clone it's actually a cap that you have to pull off to build then slide the cap back on top of the deck when finished building. I'm pretty sure that's what I saw on some vids somewhere.
