Where did ya order the replacement tank? As i just recently had a banana mix that cracked my tank too. I think it is just fractured also, but i know that its time will come. Cant wait for a glass version to come out so we dont have to worry bout this.

Thanks in advance! :toast:

lol

my wife completely hijacked the taifun for over a month or so (basically since I got in) and only ran Boba's Bounty in it. I wanted to put some reserve flavors and show her that the taifun wasn't "hers" but I smelled machine oils or something out of the ordinary in it. Washed and scrubbed with dawn but to no avail.

she purchased some 100% acetone over the weekend. yea, sure, throw it in there.

was in there for maybe 15 seconds before I was all "...!?!" and mashed the abort key over and over. pulled it out and started rinsing frantically.

the "clear" section is completely opaque. there is stress fractures that aren't completely through but it definitely looks knarly. My wife refuses to use the thing again even though i put the tank upside down and vaped it myself after a proper cleaning.

really wasn't thinking, obviously. already ordered another clear tank section that should be here in two days. at least if this does anything, i'll get my taifun back.

ill post a pic tomorrow for the lolz

The base isn't intended to be disassembled, it's pressed together. So disassembling requires knocking the atty deck out.

I understand that. I'm willing to do it, though, if someone will tell me how. Obviously, others have done it, because we have pics farther down in this thread. (In fact, wasn't that you who showed images of that slanty hole inside the deck?) I have drilled mine out and the super-tight draw makes it practically unusable. So I don't figure I have much to lose. thanks....

Is yours a clone? If so is it the hcigar clone (clone with extras and ® on the box)?

If it's the hcigar clone this might fix your problem without taking the base completely apart.....

Don't know if this has already been addressed (didn't read what came after this post) .. but there is a fix for the tight draw on the Hcigar TGT (Focalecig) .. the problem is the plastic insulator inside of the air hole (not the air tube). Pull out the plastic insulator inside the air hole in the base and trim off a little from the bottom and replace ... this should fix any problems with a tight draw.

Apparently there is a burr on the bottom of the plastic insulator that is blocking air flow regardless of which size air tube is used.

Found this little tip on Planetofthevapes site, as everyone was having a problem with the tight draw, and this was the across the board fix for it ... Am waiting for my Taifun now, and have been researching the hell out of it as I wait. :)

For knocking the chamber base out of the atty base this is my procedure....I take the coil attachment screws out, as well as the 510 screw/o-ring/spring/and insulator. Then I thread the base onto a ss tank, then I get a punch that fits tight in the empty 510 hole, and then give it a whack with a hammer. Not much to it.

Here's the taifun cotton build I've settled on

Thing works great with kanthal ribbon wire if you haven't tried it, the posts catch my thick 0.8x1mm ribbon it like its nothing. Takes a try or two to get the wick perfect, but its flawless when you get one working. The ribbon conventional coil seems to singe my wick after around 30mL, while I had to rewick every 10-15mL with 28ga round wire microcoils.

I tried that while getting the replacement part very cold. Comparing the recessed part to my original tank, there is quite a difference

Oh… sorry that was my only brainstorm. Maybe some emory cloth on the tank insert?
