anyone notice focal almost doubled the price? fro $19.65 to $28.00 :?:

Yeah, however as long as they deliver a good quality clone instead of the chromed brass version, i wouldn't mind with that price.

Also don't forget that you can get a 10% off with a coupon

yes it's still not a bad price. and if by "chromed brass" version you're referring to FT, they no longer have a chrome plated brass base. it's SS now.

i ordered one of these r91 clones - too cheap to pass up

Who on this thread has a real Taifun? Just curious.

I have two that should be here in the next coupla days. I did enjoy the HCigar clone first. I am a big believer in supporting our authentic manufacturers. It promotes innovation, and we need the new gear that they can deliver. I do try clones and if I like them, I always buy the originals, often multiple copies. So, I'm going to say that I do (perhaps a few days early), but I feel that I am now in that category, and I cannot get this clone out of my hand until the original does arrive. Thank you for asking. I have wondered the same thing.

I just ordered a 'real' Taifun GT (at least I hope it's real!!)...should be here tomorrow... Is there a way to tell for sure if it's the real thing? I noticed that even some of the clones have the 'trademark' symbol on them...... I won't disclose the seller here, but I bought it online from a popular auction site (you do the math).....I paid a pretty penny for it, so hopefully it's everything I expect it to be!!

You for sure won't be able to tell the difference between the $175 real one and the $20 Fasttech model by vaping it.
Could be just my opinion but I do have both.

Interesting....ok.

Should've probably tried a clone first, but oh well....I am sure I'll love it....I jumped head first into Kayfuns by buying a real Svoemesto KFL+ and it's treating me VERY well, so hopefully the Taifun will do the same!!

There's a huge difference between an authentic Taifun Gt and a clone of the Taifun GT, and that difference may not be the vape, or even the quality, or even the price.

I ordered mine from SmokerStore (Taifun GT Verdampfer - SmokerStore - Ihr Spezialist für e-Zigaretten und Zubehör in NRW). 129 Euros. I also ordered a spare base and a dripper. These original items are quite expensive. There's no way I could confuse these originals with clones from a purchase standpoint. As mentioned previously, I did first buy the HCigar clone, which convinced me that this topper was well worth the money. I can only say that if you bought a genuine Taifun GT (new) for less than that about $160, you got a clone, not an original. Whether I can tell the difference in the vape is not the issue for me. I have no doubt that the quality will be better (mine are in NY now and on the way to me), but even if I can't, that's still not the point. The point is that we must support our originators and our innovators. If they cannot sell their devices at reasonable prices to recover their time, money, investment, ingenuity, etc., then we simply will not see quality innovation from anyone in the future.

I'm not saying clones are bad, and I do feel that they are good to get to "try" some of the better gear. No one wants a $200 lemon. Also, some can't afford the originals, and the clone is a suitable alternative, but it doesn't matter that one may be $100 more than a copy. There simply would not be any copy if the originators didn't create these devices and charge a fair price for them to recover their investment, risk, etc. I am passionate about supporting and protecting our originators. Without them, vaping would truly suck right now. I started vaping in 2009 and again in 2011, and both times, the gear was not suitable for me to be able to quit smoking. It's truly unbelievable how far we have come, and for me, it's all about these remarkable innovators/tinkerers that have an idea, produce a remarkable device, find a way to manufacture it and bring it to market, all at considerable risk. My hat's off to them. I will continue to support them in every way I can. It's certainly not about status. It's about appreciation, respecting their innovation, and supporting their dream, that enhances my own dream.

Vaping is so good in 2014, that very few truly appreciate how far we have come. Anyway, that my two cents. Certainly, YMMV. But this whole deal is a two way street, and it's not only about spending the least amount of money possible. Sometimes, it's a lot more than that. I don't get on people that buy clones. I buy clones. But I also support our innovators, and I feel fortunate that I am able to do so. Not everyone can do that. But it's a heart thing. You can support our innovators there, even if you can't afford anything but a clone/replica/counterfeit. I can respect that. If that clone gets you off and keeps you off smoking, then I say hallelujah! We must also be thankful for our innovators, as well. My :2c:. Power up and Vape On!
