I have a tendancy to plan these things out for long periods of time, so I'm really in no rush. This would not be the case if money wasn't tight but I'm glad I have a lot of time to think about this. I will probably be buying another Vision Spinner 1300mah at my favorite brick and mortar as soon as they have them in stock again to get me by while I wait to go bigger.

I've spent the morning watching YouTube reviews of some of the options available, and I have already determined that I am not going the route of ProVari right away... its just too expensive. So... as far as VAMO/SMax/VMax/eVic goes, what are your thoughts on this? I am looking to read up a bit more on peoples personal experience and comparisons of these devices to help me make my decision. I can get comfortable with the price point on any of these devices. I like the idea of the eVic and its operating system/upgradable firmware thing.

Also, as far as manufacturer goes, is there any clear advantages/disadvantages between smok and sigelei?

I was looking into all of these as well. It was mostly between the eVic and Vamo, as it seems the others you mentioned are very similiar or identical to the Vamo, and the Vamo was cheapest of them when I was shopping around. I ended up going for the Vamo mostly due to construction and higher wattage range. The eVic really interested me due to my gadget obsession, but I wanted something that will last and take a beating and it seemed like people were saying the eVic was a bit cheaper on the construction side of things. And most of the interesting features of the eVic, while interesting didn't seem all that useful tbh.

I absolutely love the Vamo. I love that it's built like a tank, all metal costruction, and the aesthetics of it are pretty awesome. And I was able to pick up the Vamo cheaper than any of the other ones you listed so that sealed the deal. I also have friends who love the eVic but I havent actually seen one in person so I couldn't tell you any more about it.

Quality construction and materials is a big deal to me. I am ultimately looking for a nice balance of cost/reliability and functionality. I will consider the minor details in the end as well though. I watched PBusardo's review of the VAMO and I like the battery configuration options. I can see this being useful in certain situations. On the other hand, both of the available finishes are "finger print magnets" and that will likely drive me crazy. That alone might be enough for me to overlook the VAMO. The menus are definitely a bit easier to navigate, being that you have three buttions where the other options are multi-click on the fire button. This is one of those minor details that wouldn't bother me in the case of the ZMax/SMax option. Really what matters to me there is that I am able to access the settings, I have no real preference for the method of doing so. The squared design of the SMax is pretty neat and I know for a fact it won't roll off the table. The eVic has a ton of neat tech features that are interesting but not necessary. I didn't think about how it might be easier to damage and I am a bit on the clumsy side. This might be okay though because you can purchase the control head alone if you need to in the off chance I kill the poor thing.

There is so much information its so easy to overload. I'm getting a headache, maybe I shouldn't wait til 2PM to have my coffee.

I have an eVic. It's not all together bad, but it's not all that wonderful either. That isn't saying you should n't buy one, but I have had a few minor problems with it freezing up when attempting to change settings, having to remove and re-insert the battery to get it going again.

I have seen several good reviews on the Vamo. PBusaro seem to like them fairly well.

I actually have that video open in another tab right now, watched it earlier. That's what got me into the comparison shopping mode actually. I nearly fell out of my chair when he was demonstrating how he cleans the finger prints off of the battery compartment.

Good to know about the eVic and freezing issues. With electronic devices though, its not uncommon to have a defective unit slip through QC. Anyone else have an issue with their eVic freezing up?

The puff counter is really the only extra feature I think I would be that into, I've been curious about how many puffs I'm getting out of different sized clearos and different juices.

I wasn't yet aware of the wrap options for this PV. That is awesome, I am so close to deciding on a VAMO already, and I could probably get it sooner than the other options I have available. There is a SMOK ZMax at my local brick and mortar and I almost bought it once already.

As far as the wrap goes... I work in digital print. If I get one, and give it to pre-press to snag the dimensions and make a quick die for the cut.... I literally have endless possibilities for wrap designs.... we print on all kinds of adhesive vinyls from 3m/oracal/lexjet etc.... and I am actually their #1 guy for laminating (put down somewhere in the range of 15000' of laminate this week alone).... wouldn't be hard to spot the right material going on a press and have them quick throw the wrap on the end of the print and cut files... haha... this thought process is fun for me.

While I imagine J-Wraps is proprietary with their designs, I know I've seen templates of wraps online somewhere (probably here). I don't remember if there was one for a VAMO though.

ETA: OH! I feel so clever! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/366134-vamo-skin-templates-multiple-configuration-options.html

I'm liking a lot of the proprietary desings I'm seeing from J-Wraps and Vapor Skins... I will probably order a couple when I get my mod going. I am way more likely to design my own and get it done for free at work in the fashion I mentioned earlier on. I like the idea of a nice poly matte laminate over the top to protect the printed image and protect the inks from UV exposure and scratching.... a bit better than the total DIY approach for durability. That might only work for someone like me who can do it for free though.

My evic is the only mod ive had that's better than ego twist, but having said that I really love it. One thing I really love about it is that I know about how many puffs I have left on my battery before it dies and my vaping ends till I charge or grab another battery. Right now it says my 2600mah battery is at 81% and I have 484 puffs left on the battery. I like that rather than being out for the night drinking and not knowing how heavy I can vape.

Also as you may or may not be aware, the Ego-T tube mods fit on it, so for like 6$ and the cost of an 18350 you can make a shorty evic, here's a picture next to my 650mah Ego Twist.

I'm not concerned about having a large mod in public etc, but the shorty makes fitting it in the pocket of my jeans at work much easier.

Now I'm no expert vaper YET!! I'm using an ego twist set at max with a 2.8ohm nova tank, black currant menth 18mg pg/ag juice, the flavour is amazing, it's like I'm sucking in something from Willy wonka's chocolate factory, just wanna unscrew the top and drink it sometimes :)

Get a carto tank.... so much better than a nova.

There's a decent selling point. As an actively gigging musician that would be a handy thing to see on a display. I spend long hours at bars most weekends, and it usually involves at least a couple hours of travel for me. I do also make sure I carry a backup and everything I will need to charge up if necessary, a few filled clearos with some different flavor options going. Part of my need to expand to mods is due to the fact that I hate my current backup battery, sadly, it was more expensive than my Spinner, and as I said before I will probably be getting another Spinner before I get a mod. I like that it fits with the Ego-T mods as well.

I take it you haven't had any issues with the freezing on settings changes thing? And how would you rate the eVic for construction and durability?
