Black glass beaded wallcovering. The sheets were 28inches x 9 feet. Sheets weighed about 20 pounds. It took 2 of us 3 days to hang 9 sheets.

Wow!
I've never done anything like that. When we rebuilt our house I thought about hanging paper, but decided painting was the way to go because it's easier to change later. So I textured all the walls (unfortunately I like to experiment so most every room has a different texture. I found the one I really liked in the last room I did. hahaha)
I just love so many of the walls you did!
If I remember...this is the one I showed in the PM....Don't think I have to tell anyone what ballet this is from ;)

That is the one you first showed me. It still amazes me. :) I've so enjoyed seeing more of your work. (Just can't say that enough!!)
Wow Yiddleboge! Those dolls are extraordinary! The costumes are great and the detail.... Wow! Talk about patience!

And Miss Kayte... Great!! Gonna have to take pics of my flowers and post them! Yay!
Can't wait to see Lucy!!!

I want to see what y'all post here.....so looking forward to it. And......before I moved in with daughter and her family.....I've got a ton of pics of the garden I used to have.......:D.

I went a few years not doing anything creative and it was bleak. I can't imagine having to stop altogether. :( I'm so glad you did what you could, while you could. The world is richer for it.
Can't wait to see your garden pics!
Framed and hanging in a place of honor ? Such a beautiful drawing
Thank you. :)
Yes. It's hanging in my daughters house... waiting for me to do drawings of the rest of the kids... 1 down, 5 more to do. I did one of my sons two oldest.. and then they went had another baby, so they're short one too. lol

I've always have been envious of artists and their talents. My boyfriend is an incredible artist, paints, draws and sculpts. My talents lie in being able to appreciate art and buying pretty things. Also in decorating, so my friends have said. However, our house that we got about a year and a half ago is a work in progress and the boyfriend and I bump heads about the decorating. He is kinda a minimalist, where I am the opposite. I like to have things to look at, layers and layers. My old apartment years ago was sensory overload. A friend once described it as being a large work of art with a bunch of small work of arts in it!! One of the nicest compliments ever!! :D

LOL....Lucy :D When I was first married...I did everything as much as possible in Japanese decorating....which you all may know...you can't get any more minimalist than that....there's not even any furniture in traditional Japanese homes. Years later I switched to Victorian.....when my daughter questioned such a BIG switch I explained......when you're starting out....everything is a clean bare slate.....as you progress, life and all you accumulate becomes cluttered...and you can't get any more cluttered than Victorian

My biggest issue is I like a lot of different styles. Being 1/2 Mexican with a very catholic mother, I love religious art and statues (traditional and folksy), I love day of the dead stuff, I loooove Asian (love love love Buddhas!), Art Deco (I used to live above antique stores, they pretty much furnished my apt) and Mission! My stuff is a hodge podge of all my favorite things. The best part is I put it all together and it works surprisingly well! For me it does!! The boyfriend is just gonna have to get over it! So when he starts whining I will use my favorite phrase.... "Suck it up, Buttercup!!" I WILL HAVE MY WAY! :D

I need eye candy!

Here are some of the afghans I've made. I think every blanket we have in this house are ones I've done over the years. Lots go out as gifts, too. I make a couple a year during the cold season.

This itty bitty pic is of one of my flower beds. We had to do the garden from scratch last summer. We had no flower beds! I did inherit a few plants that must have been from the woman before the last resident. I inherited some daffodils, a tulip (didn't flower last year, but this year there were 2 flowers!), some hardy lilies, day lilies and a peony ( poor thing was stunted, last year it was very sad. This year it grew a bunch and produced big flower buds!). All grew up out of the grass.
Now for my heartbreaks so far this year.... Those cute, adorable, rotten bunnies ate up my columbines, I did get some pepper spray stuff for critters but it was a feeding frenzy before I caught it. They must have made an announcement to all their cute bunny friends (which are many) to come and eat, the buffet was open. Grrrrr. And my second heartbreak... After the peony making an incredible comeback, no ants!! I told my mother (a very avid Gardner, I'll take some pics of her garden. Over the years I bought her many flowers since I was living vicariously through her. Which is awesome, I will get pieces of those plants!) and she told me not to worry, they will come. Mmm hmm. No ants!! All those big buds wanting to open... Sigh. Next year I'm gonna collect ants!!

I woulda chewed on the buds myself but something tells me I wouldn't had had the same outcome! :p

Love those. That's just another of the things my hands can't do anymore. I hope those who've received your gifts can appreciate how special they are. :)

Wallelf, those are beautiful! I really like your color choices.
My husbands grandmother made us a couple of afghans and while I treasure them and will always keep them... well.. her eyesight wasn't what it used to be. The colors... oh my!
Wow Kayte! How many different talents do you have?!? No fair:glare:
I'm a 'jack of many trades'. And master of none.

Now you can tell him that you need to decorate 'this room' so you can take photos for this thread, to show us. And then quickly move on to decorating another room. And another. ;) :D
That is a very nice compliment you got!
I love antiques.
Some of my tanks..
I love your tanks! I think the Jester is my favorite. That is just so much fun! And the one next to it. And and and. :D
Your garden is spectacular! Do you have room to poke another plant?

You have a great start with that one bed! Very nicely done! Hmmmm... I love peonies. I could mail you some ants. lol
I've got an adorable bunny here too. So far, he's happy with things I don't care about. I hope it stays that way because unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about it. His name is Harold. Once they have a name, I'm stuck. :sneaky:
