Just wondering what is the most popular term we should use for our vaping devices instead of "e-cigarette". I don't like to have any reference to the word cigarette when trying to explain to non vaporers the benefits of vaping vs. smoking, or when writing letters to representatives regarding the whole FDA thing, etc.

Are there some already out there? Maybe i've already answered my question saying "vaping device" but just wanted to hear some others and I always try to be consistent. Thanks

I have no e-cigarettes any more.........well I don't use them anymore.

E-cigarette - Electronic device that attempts to emulate a real cigarette in both Look and function.
Often found with White battery section and Light Brown Cartridges containing minimal e-liquid.

My PV (personal Vaporizer) is much more complex, larger than a jumbo cigar and 1000 times as satisfying to use.:)

Electronic cigarettes are the "cigalikes" or cigarette-sized batteries, disposable or rechargeable.

Ego's are an intermediate-level vaporizor. The entire battery device is the battery (rechargeable with USB charger).

Personal vaporizers or "mods" generally use replaceable, rechargeable batteries in either a tube or box battery device. A few have a built-in, non-replaceable, rechargeable battery.

I call it my vape and a few friends who like snaggin draws off it call it my pen. We all use a variety of e-juice, dry & oil "pens" from ego's to mvps to stingrays and nemis. We want to disassociate pre packaged cig-a-likes from vape pens because in our minds they are most likely the cause of health issues or quality and chemical makeup of juices to the CDC, news, people to watch news.

"Vape pen" i feel encompasses the entire spectrum of any device that has a battery, refillable tank/dripping deck, choice to add any of the 10 billion flavors available around our globe.

Let packaged "cig-a-likes" be called e-cigs, they mimic the the look. As for box mods, tube mods, mech, regulated/ drippers, RTAs, plastic clearomizers, tank attys, i and a few people prefer to call them vape pens.

Vaporizer, usually. Sometimes I call it my puffer. Lots of times though, I just call it an electronic cigarette, then introduce a different term later in the conversation. I fully understand the desire to divorce what we do from smoking, but it can get really confusing for people who are looking for more info from a stranger on the patio at the coffee house.

A friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a while sent me an email while I was at work asking what brand e-cig I use. I was at a loss trying to answer her. I wanted to say "I don't use e-cigs" But that would have brought on a whole lot more explanations... instead I just said "Vapor Shark rDNA30, Provari, REO, and a few Egos." Point being, I don't like the term e-cig either. I'll be seeing her today and hope to get that point across in a nice way :)

I don't really like the term ecig either, but end up using it, because that's what that what the public knows them by. I usually call it my vape. PV works as well. I don't like the term mod, because nothing is mod-ified anymore, so it really doesn't apply. APV is good for advanced devices, but I'm not sure why it's used when talking about mechs, as mechs are the most un-advanced devices on the market. I guess you could say that they are for advanced users, but the device itself isn't advanced.
