WoooooHooooooo,

There's rain immediately to the north of us according to the Intellicast radar. Should be raining in a few minutes!

If it doesn't stop and go back the other way!!

Your forgiven SIC.

TT

By SIC I do hope you are referring to "SalemIsCold" errrr I mean "salemgold" there T. ;)

Finally.....got the tile coated and some of the wall plates on. Stove still sitting out in the middle of the kitchen. Some of the wall plates to go, and then putting caulk in the little gap between countertop and tile.......this project is just going on and on....
Managed to have a nice dinner even with no stove. Crock Pots rule!!!!!!

Well, now that I am here, you have all left, to come back and start socializing when I am ready for bed. Is this a conspiracy? Or are you all out dancing in TT's yard, naked in the rain? If you all are naked, I know why I was not invited. My neighbors told you about me didn't they?

I'll just go read some forum threads until you all come back. You have been warned.......I'm like Arnold....I'll be back.

Yep, SC, it is. Especially the kitchen....that is where we spend 80% of our time.....gathered around the island, even when company comes. Coffee in the morning, cocktails for company.....either on the deck or in the kitchen.

Where is Moody Texas....I just looked at the radar, and it looks like the rain is in the northeast corner, close to Arkansas line...is that where you are located? And is TT close to there also?

oh TT. I missed you so much i had to come hunt you down. glad to see you are feeling ok and still dishing out the humor:p
Gosh, I napped right through that earthquake. Glad to hear all of you are okay and I'll be watching here to see if the others all check in.

One time I was in Los Angeles and was staying in one of those old tower Holiday Inn's. Shortly after I went to bed a 5.9 earthquake hit and that tower building and my bed were all over the place. Scared me half to death ... I thought it was my ex-wife getting in bed with me!!!

Once I found out that it was just an earthquake I was able to go right back to sleep.

gram, T is much closer than I ...he is east TX I am in central TX almost exactly the middle between Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin on the map.... so I prolly won't see any rain ...T might get a little bit.

SC

Well, dam. Thought you both might get some. But I know it has been so long, that it will take more than a little blip on the radar in order for it to do much good. I was hoping one of those hurricanes would cross the gulf and dump on Texas (rain only, no damage). But nope, they just keep goin' where no rain is needed.

What did you do to your kitchen? Did you do it yourself? Or use a contractor?

Hey TT, you are probably in bed now preparing for a long day tomorrow but I will have you in my thoughts and please post when you are able to :)

What did I miss? Or what did I forget? What is TT having done tomorrow? The sleep apnea test? Whatever it is, I am sending a big Gramva hug to him.......

Thanks for remembering whatever it is you remembered and I forgot, Salem. My ADDD is getting worse!

Edit: Whoops, I mean my AADD...(see what I mean?)

Oh gram, so many places I could go with this!! But I am gonna try and be nice here... so we will just skip to the kitchen stuff...

I Re did cabinets, built new Island, installed granite countertops.....Glass tile backsplash and re painted....Ugh! Just the new flooring to put in and I am done then...

And yes I did it all myself... What was I thinkin??? But I must say it looks real nice and the wifey just loves it!! That is most important that she enjoys her kitchen... :)

There should be a law against men with decorating ideas!!! Sorry guys, but women are better at this, and we should be allowed to pick what we want without your buttinsky, outdated, poor choices, bad taste ideas.

Sd--my husband and I argued over everything when we built our house, and we did a lot of compromising. And to this day, I am sorry I caved when he insisted on carpet in the living room (probably cause that is what he grew up with.) I wanted hardwood then, and still wish it was hardwood. (But I did get my big front porch that he balked at.)

I am so jealous when a woman says to me...."Oh my husband doesn't get involved in the house decorating...I can do whatever I want.....Well la ti da, lady!! Mine has his nose stuck in everything....even with my throw pillows. I wish you could have seen the way his apartment was decorated when I met him. It was absolutely the most awful thrown together mess I have ever seen, but now he thinks he is an interior decorator...so good luck getting your hardwood. I hope you stick to your guns.

I have 3 cats so I know what you mean. We have a wood laminate in the upstairs hallway. Wipes clean. The hubs does not want it and wants to tear it out. I am looking into the wood floating floors-not the laminate but the engineered wood. (My knowledge is limited though). Cats can act like puppies. I have oak cabinets and an Island and a floating island....Too much oak so I am thinking white ceramic.

I am hoping on some labor day sales....LOL its always on sale.

Sdh I put down laminate wood flooring in a large part of our house, because of our dogs...and I love it, look and feel of wood but no refinishing and repair... Holds up Great! Well it actually is real wood just engineered with a tougher finish... :)

SC

Who picked it out, SC? Are you one of those men who think they are decorators? I have laminate in all my bedrooms. I love laminate--the easiest floors to care for. And Sd.......there are some out now that are really beautiful. Laminate has gotten better and better since its first appearance in the mid 90s. But if hubs wants carpet, he won't like laminate either.

What is TT having done tomorrow?
