Yep, you can buy and prolly cheaper...but I don't think it is the same....and I have done side by side tests several times...just to convince myself it was worth the time, effort and expense... and I still have to vote Homemade.... JMO.. :)

I would not say that all is comparable but I have two fruit and vegetable farms ( large) within a mile of my house and they offer the same as home made :) One of them is my neighbor. They are organic farmers :)

That sounds like the best of both worlds! Homemade jams without the hassle. And I'm sure they are better than the mass-produced ones in the supermarkets.

Last time I was in Texas, I had to try home canned pickled Okra ... It was awful - but everyone there seemed to love it...

That doesn't sound good to me, either! Good for you for trying it :) I don't know that I could have. Now, fried okra, on the other hand, the way my mom makes it.... best eating you could imagine!

There are some good ones in some grocery stores too. I have found a few brands that I think are comparable IMO.

I am sure there are some good ones...but I meant the ones I used to eat vs homemade and the difference is amazing... not to mention that we don't put 15 chemicals in there to give them a 5 bazillion year shelf life....lol Just sayin...
