What I don't understand is when I go to the Carolinas and they sell beer and wine in the grocery store!

That's crazy!

Just curious, Pad...where do they sell such stuffs in MD if the liquor and ammo is at the gas stations?

We still have the residue of the Puritan Blue Laws here, alcohol is bought in package (liquor) stores and bars.

There are liquor stores in Maryland that carry liquor, beer and wine. They can also sell most other things too. There is a store near my mother in law that has liquor, beer and wine in part of the store, and some food items, bait, and gasoline in the other part. Didn't see any ammo, but I am sure that would be more popular in the north or west part of the state.

I think the only rule is no sales in grocery stores and also there are some strange Sunday laws

I sure do know about those Sunday laws in SC!

While on vacation we know we have to have everything bought before 6 PM on Saturday or we will spend the first full day of vacation sober!

I think they finally got rid of that law about only selling miniature bottles in bars though!
Try buying one of those drinks that have 6 different kinds of booze in them. They end up costing $30

Be that as it may, I say banish them both to the dark recesses of the shed - never to see the light of day again, never to torment me with their evil, distorted countenances again.

In NH you can only buy hard liquor at a State Liquor store. They do not sell beer. You can buy beer and wine at any grocery store and most any smaller sroe too.

Yup, the mini bottles are gone!

I liked the mini bottles - the bars look so ordinary, now, like in the rest of the world, LOL! And you got more bang for your buck on a mini than the whim of a bartender's dollop...consistent drinks. Expensive? Maybe, but a shot and half for the price; now, who knows?
