He definitely needed that test! It is a little scary that he drops that low (saturation) every night!! Dang, I intubate my patients if they are saturating at 70%, LOL!!

Intubate .... is that like an enema tube your talking about Nursie T????

They didn't do that to me at the hospital.

Dangit.

Boy that "cup" of java quickly woke me up this morn Pokey. I raised my arms over my head right fast. Coffee went all over me and the floor. Thought I had been shot; then realized it was coffee running down my arm.....

Why did you raise your coffee cup over your head with the cup in your hands toto??

Were you smelling your pits?

I do that sometimes.

But I set my coffee down first.

Thanks, TT! :)

You know I have to keep myself entertained somehow - it's a slow week for Vet turnings and avi changing, lol.

Yeah Pokey, they have so many people turning that I've just started doing it for the people I know. It would be a couple almost every day otherwise. But it is nice that their friends give them that recognition. Its a good thing to do and in a lot of cases is very touching.

Morning all,

Ok, what the heck is Vet Turning???

That coffee cup is awesome Pokey

[Rant] TT, the reason my location is listed as Marylandistan is because of the draconian gun laws here. We are working on them and there are a couple big cases in the courts to force MD. to stop infringing on the citizens rights. It is almost impossible to get a concealed carry permit here unless you are a judge, lawyer, Dr, or carry 10k in cash. Of course the criminals don't use permits so we are the only ones the laws affect. [/RANT]

Thanks for posting something SDH i though maybe i broke the thread with my post, nobody was posting ;)

LOL, I'm still here ... for the moment.

We're having what's called a "Play Day" at the arena for kids today.

They come out and ride barrels, rope some young steers, run poles and that sort of thing. I doubt if anybody up north even knows what I'm talking about, but its a big thing for a lot of the kids here and we always have some nice prizes for them.

They won't let me do much but sit and watch any more, but I can sure yell and cheer them on!

Hey oly, yeah, that's a real shame about the gun laws there and really, its just not right. I don't care if you support gun rights or not, when they start taking our freedoms and rights away from us we have to stand up and yell about it. And then remember at election time.

Texas had some really stupid laws ... for example, if someone broke into your house you were expected to retreat and let them be. And if you hurt them you would be held liable in both Criminal and Civil Coutrs.

Now you can defend your home, your family and yourself, and indeed, are expected to do it. If you shoot an intruder or anyone threatening your life or taking your property it will be investigated as it should be, and it will likely go to the Grand Jury, but you will be no-billed. In many cases it doesn't even go to the Grand Jury, they just don't file charges. But I'm sure you're aware of all this.

Stay after them. It really can be changed. We proved it here and its catching on all over the Country.

Morning all,

Ok, what the heck is Vet Turning???

[/RANT]

oly, we try to celebrate when someone has been a member of ECF for one Year they get Veteran Status.. we call it Turning .. it shows above their avatar in Red. They get to pick a theme that they like and we all change our avies for the day to what they like as a show of repect... It is a lot of fun, but can also be time consuming... some only change their avie for people they know, and others do it for every single turn!! I am kinda in the middle ...I do as many of them as I can... but don't always have the time to do everyone. :)

Good Morning ! Thought I'd pop in & say Hello before it's time for chores and stuff.
Pokey, That morning cup is OK. I don't usually like pictures with cats in them, but since he's a sniper and all, kind of sparks it up. I have a really evil cat, and she's my 2nd really evil cat, so I really hate pictures of sweet, fuzzy kitties, because they're all lies!!

TT, and anyone else who doesn't know who my avatar is...It's the replicant Rachael from my favorite movie "Blade Runner". Since she's an android, I figured she'd be best suited to an e-cigarette!

Have a Great Day toto, SC, Pokey, Sdh, Tcg, oly, padre, salem & anyone else who I may have forgotten!! wub ya!:2cool:

I bet there are quite a few people who NEED a CPAP, but haven't been diagnosed. Being tired all day seems to be the norm nowadays!

Thats so true. I used to wake up after "sleeping" for 10-12 hours with my eyes beet red and more exhausted than I was when I went to bed. I suffered like that for many years before being diagnosed.
I will never forget the first week wearing a cpap my brain was crinkling. Sounds weird but it was like static clearing in my head as I was actually getting deep restorative sleep for the first time in years.

Nowadays I think that many people are burning the candle at both ends and just not getting enough sleep. If you have a SO (that you sleep with lol) they will normally be able to tell you if you have it because the pauses in breathing are obvious. The thing about not being diagnosed is that it will put a strain on your hearts and over the years can become quite serious. Not to mention that if you happen to not wake up enough to start breathing again it can be disasterous too :)

Yeahbbut (that's a thing with two big ears that hops...) if its just to promote better sleep then I really don't need it because sleeping is really one of the things I do best. I can sleep anytime, any where, but I don't go to sleep at stop lights or at improper times.

One of the questions they asked me was if I go to sleep when I'm talking to people and I wanted to put in there "Only my brother-in-law" because he's one of those people who tells stories in such minute detail and at such great length that I have found my head to be jerking around when he goes into one of his long, windy tales. Kinda like when my wife lectures me. And she loves and lives to lecture me.

But if the CPAP will give me more energy and less breathlessness, then I'm all for it.

TT

LOL @ TT I never ever fell asleep at stop lights or while talking either. I think that is more in line with narcolepsy and thats why they asked you that :) Just trust me that you will feel much, much better. After all have I steered you wrong yet?

OK I will finish catching up later :) I have too much to do today but will bbl :)

LOL, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't enjoy it TT. It is a tube down into your trachea, which is attached to a ventilator (breathing machine). Not very comfortable at all!

Ya see, it's like this TT. Some of us ole people don't see so well or what we think we see isn't really what we see! As I was raising my cup to take a sip, I saw a gun--threw my hands in the air, dropping my coffee cup--then thought, "what the F..., that was a cat with a gun....cats can't shoot guns!!!!!!
