hate to change the subject, but I saw an article earlier that was talking about a hospital in La. that has banned its employees from smoking, even on their personal time. They also banned any employee coming to the hospital with cigarette smell on their clothes. They were talking about third hand smoke! It's getting crazier and crazier!

It is getting absolutely ridiculous!! Once one hospital does it and gets by with it, I can see it spreading to all hospitals. Then other businesses will follow... Exactly when did America lose its freedom???

It could be, kgj, but there is only one way to find out...change your avi to something you'd really like to see everywhere and let me know how that works out for ya!

I, myself, am without the Force. I do not see orange bendy-horseys everywhere. And that is a good thing.

Thanks Pokey, but I don't think they'd let me post that avi!

The hospital closest to me banned all smoking on property. Visitors can't even smoke in their locked car with the windows rolled up.

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for the nice birthday wishes and the sweet cards and pretty cards and really funny cards! The cake pictures were fantastic and Gummy Bear, LOL, my cake had no relation to the big chemical plant fire over by Dallas. You guys sure know how to make an old man feel ... old. And I love ya for it! Actually, I guess I'd better quit whining about being old ... the alternative kinda sucks!

One of my best and oldest friends and his wife and one of their sons came up from Houston today to visit with us. We had a good time and the weather was perfect for having lunch on the porch. Mrs. TT fixed a lot of nice things and I got to have some sugar free angel food cake with strawberries on it. Kinda like cardboard with red stuff.

And some of the kids are coming over this evening for a while and most of the others have called, so its been a pretty fine day. Even got some real nice presents! Including ....taaa daaaaa.... A SAINTS BALL CAP!!!! Its beautiful!!! And a fine pair of slippers from New Zealand. I've had New Zealand wool lined slippers for years and there are none better!

Some of the kids just came in so I'm slipping out for a while. Be back in a while.

Thanks for all the nice birthday wishes!!! You guys are nothing but fine!

TT

And yet, it's still OK to walk around smelling like you just crawled out of a vat of perfume. Sheesh. Even though I'm not a smoker anymore, I still like to walk through their clouds of 2nd hand smoke. I love that smell. I'm weird I know.
But, I'd rather see some businesses like bars & hospitals having a little "smoke shack" out in the parking lot, rather than seeing clumps of smokers standing out by the interstate in the rain trying to get some nicotine!
I should set up a vaping stand...kind of like an espresso stand... Hmmm. new business Idea!

Great Idea TV, but there are still so many smokers. There was a bar near me that had a smoking section that was "outside" like required, but it had a roof and walls almost to the top and heaters and a television (almost said TV, and that would be weird)

it was the greatest outside smoking section I have seen yet!

Haven't been in a while though, the state probably made them take it down.

I lost my 22 year old nephew a few years back. :( Anyway a few of us went down to the parking lot to smoke a cig while they removed life support. I thought that hubby was going to duke it out with the security guard that told us "no smoking in city limits"

Needless to say we all finished our cig and dared them to say another word.

LOL Greenville, SC passed a smoking bans within city limits a few years back. Well the local bars had outside smoking areas. The cops ( jerks that some are) started measuring off 10 feet outside the door because that is how far you had to be not to contaminate the building. Yep our tax dollars at work folks.
