Morning, TT.

Think I'm going to skip work today, fix another cup of coffee and just sit and visit a bit. Too many times we get confused about what's important and what's not, work'll always be there; the friends and family we care about may not be.

I'd rather have a slice of bread, cheap cup of Joe and enjoy your company any day. And as far as titles go...well, we can make up our own if we want one, don't you think?

An American businessman was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellow fin tuna.

The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.
The Mexican replied that it took only a little while.

The American then asked why didn't he stay out longer and catch more fish? The Mexican said he had enough to support his family's immediate needs.

The American then asked, but what do you do with the rest of your time?
The Mexican fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos. I have a full and busy life, senior."

The American scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat. With the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats, eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then Los Angeles and eventually New York City where you will run your expanding enterprise."

The Mexican fisherman asked, "But senior, how long will this all take?"
To which the American replied, "15 to 20 years."

"But what then, senior?"
The American laughed and said, "That's the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You would make millions."

"Millions, senior? Then what?"
The American said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your grandkids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos."

I'm back, now, fellow pea.

I couldn't find the cream; that was nearly a crisis.

I am so sorry to hear about the drought continuing - it has been terrible and I know it has ruined many good, hard-working people's lives.

It's been dry, here, too. Even though SC is nowhere near the conditions you've been suffering through, it has taken its toll. I joke with my parents that where we live must have been built over some ancient Indian burial ground - it can thunderstorm and rain around the whole state and then just disappear as it approaches us only to resurface on the weather map and pound the other side, never leaving a drop for us.

It's bad when you're hoping for a hurricane or TS to come in close enough to not cause damage but send its long-reaching rainclouds over your head. Or at least, break the heat for a day.

I hear ya on the ancient Indian burial ground and believe it or not, I've often wondered the same thing because I've seen storms do the same thing as you describe.

And I think right now a lot of people would be glad to see a non-serious hurricane or Tropical Storm come in just so we could get the rain.

It would take two to three inches of a good, slow rain just to do any good around here. I think my greatest fear is our well drying up. It would not only be a big dollar loss, we'd have to pay to run the piping to bring in city water. And I've tasted that city water! Ugh - as those ancient Indians would have said.

The thing with rain is very much like with lost sleep - you can never really make it up, just hope to balance it out.

Losing the well would be a big ouch, TT. For the money, the inconvenience, the Ugh Water. I paid big money for a lake water filtration system in my previous home - the well there couldn't be dug deep enough, too much rock.

It was the bestest water, worth every penny. I have Ugh water now. Yuck.

I've got some real nice CaramelCream (that a nice lady in South Carolina made) loaded in a Liquinator and hooked up on a 5v pass through that I fixed up last night and I'm sitting here vaping it. So I actually don't have a care in the world!

This is nice stuff!

TT

That is some awesome stuff, isn't it?

What carto are you using these days, TT?

Back when I was young, our water in New Mexico was like that ... it was so good you enjoyed drinking it! Some of the best tasting water I've ever had.

We have city water at the lake house and filter it at the faucet and then run it into one of those pitchers with a filter built into it. So we filter it twice just to be able to drink it.

Ha, ha, not much happening at the lake house either. The lake is nearly all dried up.

Gosh .... that sounds .....lovely!

I worked overseas and lived on airplanes. It was seven days a week, sometimes 24 hours a day, very fast paced, would wake up in one country and go to bed in another sometimes.

It was such a fast and interesting life that I seriously had doubts about being able to retire. It took me three times to really quit working, but when I finally did retire I found I liked not doing all the running around, problem solving, middle of the night phone calls where somebody needed something from me and everything else that went with it.

There's some parts of it I miss a little bit, but not many ...

This retirement business is okay.

In fact, in a couple weeks one of my darling granddaughters is coming to spend a week with us and I'll be able to devote that week to her. Its pretty darned nice to be able to do that!

I gotta run downstairs and get a fresh pot of coffee on for the boss lady ... brb.

Morning folks..put on another pot TT, I need a refill.
And speaking of water, I double filter the water we use for coffee at home. We're on well here (city hasn't forced the switch yet but its coming) but I'm not crazy about it. We've got a high mineral content which wreaks havok on the appliances, plus a few times a year the sulfur-smell causing bacteria get pretty high. The aerator and softener helps some but it's not perfect. Can't beat the price of not hooking up to the city, but it can still cost in inconvenience.

LOL, it would probably be easier to tell you which carto I'm NOT using. I have some of all of them.

The Liquinator is nice with the mega duel coil, I still have a bunch of IKV carts mainly Fusion and Gold V2's, mega-808's, the list goes on and on. I'm slowly working toward mainly the mega duel coils. I have some adapters for my GoGo's and the duel coils work real good on them, I like the duel on my Phidias and Buzz ... so Travis can expect to be selling me a lot of the DC's as I use up my stash of cartos.

I do need to talk to him about getting some stainless DC's so I can use them with the Liquinator. All he has right now is the black.

Quite a few people seem to be going with the duel coils exclusively.
