Okay everybody, its Thursday and time to get up and do your chores and start getting ready to go!
Time for you to start hitting the roads and freeways, blowing your horns and dodging the crazy drivers who are in such a big hurry to go nowhere! You need to get to work ... lets go! Get that insulated coffee cup filled up and get out there.
OMG. That reminds me of the time I came back to the States from overseas and was going to be working in Houston for a few weeks. I got up one morning and fixed myself some breakfast, showered and got all dressed up in my nice suit, starched shirt and tie. I looked fine!
Out the door and into the traffic and the company had a place for me to park my car down in the basement of the building so I get there and park and everything was okay. I had a smile on my face.
I get out of the car and walk up the first flight of stairs to an escalator and there's some real pretty girls standing there talking and they all give me this big smile. I smile and say good morning and get to the second escalator and all these gals are smiling at me and I thought, boy, this Houston is okay!!
So I walk around to where the elevators are and there's a lot of people milling about, but all these fine looking ladies are all smiling at me. I thought to myself, wow, I'm going to be spending all my time in Houston fighting off the girls! And that's okay.
So I get on an elevator and go up to my floor and of course, the girls in the elevator are smiling at me and I smile at them (I was getting used to this).
The elevator stops and I get off and the elevator leaves. There's a full length mirror right there where you get off the elevator so I stop and give myself a final check over ...and that's when I saw it.
My fly on my pants was all the way down and that starched shirt tail was kinda curled around and sticking straight out. I mean straight out! Like a .... straight out!
Now I knew why all the ladies had been smiling at me. I was mortified. There was no hole to crawl in, no place to hide, all I could do was go in the offices and face the day hoping none of the ladies there would be any of the ones who had smiled at me that morning.
And of course my ego was devastated!
Sometimes I hated working.
But hey, don't let my misadventures stop you. You go to work and have fun. Just check everything before you leave the house!
