I need another trip to Texas. I'd forgotten how manly it was down there!
And I must say, the airport security people were so polite. They have that down-home way of saying mean things in the nicest of ways..."Those are the prettiest shoes you're wearin' there darlin'...could you please take those off and put them in the bin? Thank you very much"
As opposed to the Seattle TSA; "Remove your shoes, You're holding up the line"...

--they said these things to my dopey sister, not to me. I am smart enough to remove my shoes without being asked...FYI...

How it's said makes a huge difference.
That's why I have so many problems here on the forum with "misunderstanding". Inflection and tone absent, I have a hard time. That and all the damn yankee speak around here. :) Well, not here here; but elsewhere here.

We're taught from an early age to respect women. And that really is a serious thing down this way. Of course, times change and I don't know about the younger crowd ...

But the ones that are raised right still say ma'am and sir.

My brother & his family moved to "the Woodlands" back in the 1980's for work. They loved it so much they'll never come back to Washington...
He passed away in 2006, and I spent time with him at MD Anderson Hosp in Houston. I thought that we were fairly polite up here, but was blown away by how really really NICE people were in Houston. I kept getting lost around the hospital facility (because of sneaking out to smoke...) - and if I asked anyone for directions, they had to WALK me to my destination...no one was content to just give directions. And on 2 occasions, I was HUGGED when people found out I was on my way to the cancer ward. It was just so weird (but sweet). I still need to go back & visit my other relatives down there...but I'll wait until Spring when it's a little cooler...

Going to catch a nap myself.
I'm on call tonight, TT and SC. That's the good fortune that allowed me to play here this evening.

I've got 4ish hours to go before I'm off the hook.

Enjoy your morning with your granddaughter, TT. And your son and his wife, too, of course. I'll be around for coffee and if I miss you, I'll know why. ;)

SC, take care of all those windows now, y'heah? :)

Techno, I don't know what to say -- is there a Benadryl in your future tonight? I'd take one if I could, that's for sure.

Later, my friends.
