So far this summer we have made Strawberry Jam, Raspberry Jam x 2, Grape Jelly, Pear Honey, and Hot Pepper Jelly....still have Apple Butter... Apple Jelly, and Peach Jam to go and maybe some Apricot Jam also...Ugh! Sure is good stuff though....

Yeah it is good but almost too good to have hanging around my house. Something else that is soooo good on biscuits is local unfiltered honey! YUM!

That Hot pepper jelly, warmed just a bit and poured over a block of cream cheese and spread on the cracker of your choice!!! yummy stuff... It has six different peppers but really just has a nice bite to it not too Hot! A little sweet, hot , spicy works really good! I love it! JMO

I'll be stopping by this week to pick up some of that home made jam...
I asked my mom to give me a "canning lesson" a few years ago before she passed away, and her response (after a life time of canning I suppose) was "Why would we want to do that? Now you can buy it at Costco!" ...LOL

There is alot of truth to that TV Some of the stuff that you can buy now is just as good IMO and much less expensive.

That is true. I like to sew my own clothes, but nowadays, but the time I buy the pattern, fabric & notions...It's about 10 times the cost of just buying it at JC penneys! Now I can only sew for the art of it. Growing up, I guess we were poor..and if we wanted new clothes, we had to make them ourselves.

Yep, you can buy and prolly cheaper...but I don't think it is the same....and I have done side by side tests several times...just to convince myself it was worth the time, effort and expense... and I still have to vote Homemade.... JMO..
